Wait what? 0_0 where did you hear that?

Unless they add an auction or card trading feature, this would be a big mistake.

@ChrisFranklin0 I hear you. The overly generous KotR rewards is making balance on the board and Ladder off. We're looking at various things

Ryan Gleason ‏@RyanWGleason Oct 26

@NWGameDad @ChrisFranklin0 if you change up kotr rewards you have to seriously change board drop rate. Kotr is the only way to get good card

Danan Davis ‏@NWGameDad

@RyanWGleason @ChrisFranklin0 For sure, something we are already testing out.

I hope the drop rate for epics and Legendaries are much higher then. As the other guy said. KoTR was the only way to get any good cards.

I'm trying to farm as many Legendary pairs as I can in the meantime.

Currently have Cameron, Hogan, Rock, Cena, Bruno, Bryan, and Jericho, and then singles of another Hogan, a Brie, and an AJ. Would like another diva since Cameron's at the bottom now, and would like someone better than Bryan for speed for my main lineup (ideally Eddie, HBK, or Mysterio).

So far I only have three legendary pairs: Bruno, Stone Cold, and Edge. Single Legendaries: Big Show and Dean Ambrose

...so far not in good shape for the suppossed KoTR nerf. :(

If I can just get a Legend pair for a Diva I think I will be ok.

I downloaded this a while back. it's very fun but I have been having problems logging in to play since yesterday. is anyone else having problem login to the game? I am on iOS.

Yep.

You bastards better be picking good old Andre. He doesn't have a regular legendary himself. :(

Also he's awesome and was in The Princess Bride. So pick Andre damn it! 0_0

All my legendary pairs are left/right, sorry!

I'm going with Andre just because he has the UR Jake the Snake.. It's probably the highest reward I can get and I loved watching him as a kid.

I wound up 12,9xx in the event, two Machos that are better than almost anything I have.

I wish they would make it so that when you reach the next tier, the random picks quit being common and uncommon. It's frustrating to pick an entire grid of cards and then have the last card be a KOTR boost.

Sounds like we're in for a big update sometime in the next week or so (probably around the launch of the next gen version of WWE 2k15).

New Tier: Survivor (above Legendary) -- they showed off The Rock's card earlier today as a teaser.

Improved Drop Rates: Shifting from "random" to "somewhat random" system that will be more rewarding. Hints that you'll be more likely to pull cards that are helpful to your current deck (I assume this means assist in making pairs).

Less Rewarding KOTR: Dev has stated that King of the Ring has been too rewarding, and was never designed to be the focus of the game. No hints as to what this will mean, but I'd assume we're losing paired cards.

They've also hinted that they're working on new game modes, but there is no indication that those will be a part of this update.

Naturally, the Reddit/2K Forums crowd is pretty up in arms about the proposed changes to KOTR as they have largely benefited from gaming the current system. Personally, I think this change is long overdue. KOTR is a mindless lineup game that has caused people to fly through the game too quickly, and allowed a select few to dominate new comers, especially in the Legendary tier.

If the new drop rate is well executed, this will make the game interesting again. One of the best parts of the early tiers (rare and super rare) was waiting for that random drop that would change your deck or make you try out a new line-up. Hopefully this chance can restore that sense of anticipation.

That said, the PSA here is if you need some pairs at your current tier, now is the time to hit KOTR. If you don't start one in the next few days, you may not be able to reap the same benefits.

Really burned myself out with the game after the 3rd PCC event so these changes come too late for me personally. I'm interested to see how will you acquire these new survivor cards.

I've been mindlessly doing KOTR the last few weeks to try and improve my deck with little luck. My main deck is Leg PP Rock, Hogan, Cena, Bryan, and Brie. I also have a Leg PP Cameron. In the mean time I've earned 2 pairs of Brunos, a pair of Jerichos, another pair of Bryans, and a pair of Erick Rowans I immediately combined and used as fodder. Also have singles of another Hogan, Cena, Brie, and an AJ.

The new tier can't come soon enough for me, as the only thing that will improve my deck is a pair of HBKs or Guerreros. Maybe another AJ to pair with my single.

I'm stuck at Epic tier. Tried a Legendary KOTR the other day, but the competition was just too tough. With more than 5 people having at least 2 PP Legendary cards, my 5 PP Epics didn't stand a chance. Clawed my way into the contender round, but lost 2-1 (one fluke game gave me a diva and a tag match) in the first round. Never could have gotten to the pair, but would have appreciated my first Epic support card.

I'm now focusing on getting a left arrow Epic to improve my tag, or a few more upper level Epics (Macho Man is currently my best) while pairs are still in play.

Hoping the new tier will lead people in your situation to move up and let others have a shot at the Legendary assortment (though likely under less rewarding circumstances). Either way, should inject some new life into the game.

I don't even bother refilling energy anymore, I just rest my dudes til they're high enough then put em back in. This often results in hilarity (from my point of view anyway) as people scramble around the standings trying to win and/or lose enough so that they can try and avoid me in the bracket as I usually end up in the bottom 4 of the qualifiers record-wise (so there's scrambling on both the low end of people trying to qualify and the high end of people trying to change their position). In my current KOTR there's only 1 other guy who can beat me (he's also running 3 PP Legendaries), but I'm pretty sure I have the edge on him as I have a pair of uncommons I can swap in for my tag to counter any other guy doing the all commons tag+bench strat.

What time of day did you start at? Sounds like a much friendlier lineup than I faced the other day. Currently breezing through an Epic KOTR but it will be done by tomorrow evening, and if I net a strong pair, I will probably give Legendary another go before the KOTR gets scaled down.

I start anytime between 11 AM - 8 PM Pacific. There's no real time I've found where I run into tougher competition. A lot of the time I end up being the only one with more than 1 Leg Pro, a few times I end up competing with 2 - 3 other guys with comparable decks.

am i the luckiest KOTR player or what?? So i've been winning Legendary KOTR constantly when i gave it a try.

Here are my Legendary pairs i pulled from the KOTR i won

Shawn Michaels
Eddie Guerrero
The Rock
Ultimate Warrior
Yokozuna
Tripple H
Brie Bella
The Undertaker

----

the lesser good once but still decent

Chris Jericho
Daniel Bryan
Big Show
(Cameron because of the update)

if they scale down KOTR i'll have gotten just about everything i wanted from it. I'm 7-0 at the moment i'm hoping for AJ Lee or Rey Mysterio.
Though i'd be sad to have to use my Legendary cards to train potential "survivor" cards since the card limit is kinda low.

Just got a pair of AJs in my last Legendary KOTR. It's funny, she has the highest stat points total, but match-up wise she's not as good as the Bellas because most of her stats are in CHA. She's still better than Cameron by far though, so she'll be my backup diva for now and I can feed Cameron to her to level her up right away.

Not bothering with the 3-man approach anymore in Leg KOTR since I'm just waiting for the next tier of cards (don't want to bother grinding for energy anymore), so I'm going the 6 PP route now so I can swap in my solo and diva slots every game to maintain full energy.

Just do what I do, level up your SR/UR/Epics to max and leave those around for upgrade fodder. And if you run out, just level up rares until you get another SR/UR/Epic drop.

nice tip :-)

is the effect you get from using a fully leveled up SR/UR/Epic card the same or better than using all those single level 0 common and rare cards to train a legendary

Not sure, but it's likely the same at the very least. I do know feeding my Leg PP Cameron to my Leg level 0 PP AJ Lee got her up to max.

Now that I know we have a new tier coming in, I'll start leveling up my excess Legendaries now as well to use those as upgrade fodder for the new cards.

After my Epic KOTR wrapped last night (got a pair of Flairs, which wasn't really helpful), I decided to give Legendary another shot.

Unlike the first time, I decided to overshoot the qualifying mark by a couple thousand XP to try and avoid 3MBers, and that combined with the late start time seems to have worked!

Thus far, I am 18-0 and there is only one deck that I think could beat me. That said, I'm worried because he seems to be tanking and could easily wind up the 8 seed to my 1. I haven't seen his full deck yet, but he has a PPC Ambrose, a PP Epic Natalya, a PP pair of Epics in his tag team slot (as do I, but his are higher rank) and his user icon is a PP Legendary Big Show.

He's currently just outside playoff range (9th seed), so I'm a bit worried that my current undefeated status is setting me up for an early KO. I just want my first pair, so I'm going to do whatever I can to avoid him.

Welp, a tie led to the non-charging super squad randomly getting the 5th seed (instead of 6th), which unfortunately put him on my side of the bracket. We're about to start the semi final showdown, but unless he fails to charge and boost, or I get a lucky diva and tag team pull, this likely ends up with an early exit.

Sucks because no one on the other side of the bracket even has PP Epic. Someone running Ultra Rare pairs is going to luck into a Legendary Pair.

At least I will get my first Epic support out of this.

That guy is obviously a pay to win player. Didn't learn how to play before he pro'ed those Shawn Michaels.

I would hope so... even if you did that by accident, you certainly wouldn't put it in your exhibition deck.

Also, I lucked out and wound up pulling out my Legendary KOTR. Working on powering up a pair of Yokozuna's at the moment, which I'm pretty darn happy with. Hoping to enter one more Legendary KOTR with it before the inevitable nerf descends.

Piper's charisma being more than 100 points lower than The Rock is just... not right. I can see making his stats pretty middle of the road otherwise, but that's off the mark.

I hope to see more new faces. How the hell do the funkadactyls have legendaries and there's no Moolah/Trish/Sunny/whoever. Where's my Survivor-tier Jazz? Or a bald Molly Holly?

They never get the stats right.

Stone Cold and Triple H have the lowest speeds in the game. Lower than guys like freaking Yokozuna, Big Show, Kane, etc.

Their logic sucks.

I believe they were based off of the 2K console game stats. Take that for what its worth, lol.

Looks like there was a brief outage earlier tonight, luckily my KOTR was about to enter the semi-finals and I had just tweaked my lineup to beat the other guy's - we had the same people in the tag and solo spots, so I made one switch so I could get the tag bonus to win that matchup for sure (he had the same arrow directions in the tag), and since my diva was going to beat his I didn't mind possibly losing one of the solo matchups if it meant I can guarantee the tag win. And due to the outage, I didn't have to worry about lineup changes, energy refills, or boost shenanigans in the second match, lol.

I'm done with the game now. It was fun, but the KOTR changes are complete bullshit

Just seems like it's moving to pay to win now as that's the only guaranteed way of getting good cards

For the rest, we can randomly do exhibition and hope to get a decent card from the 5k matches or whatever the hell it is. Or babysit KOTR two times running and hope you get a pair

They've just made it even more of a grindfest than it already was

We pretty much have the full picture. KOTR rewards, which were almost the only reasonable way (short of a bluestacks scripts to non-stop do Exhibition matches, which would lock at 100 picks/cards anyway) to get PP sets for any type (besides the $25 pull, and that was just 1 legendary or epic, not a set). With the nerf confirmed to do away with pairs (which obviously means all other rewards are at least reduced 1 notch, if not more), it would take one HELL of an increase to the drop rate.
If I remember right, someone pegged the drop for a Legendary drop at ++ maxed level at 0.02%, which puts the drop rate near "never happening" mode. There have been people on here with 8000 games and no pulls above UR besides freebies, and put all of that together and you're basically screwed unless you either have $1,000's of dollars to dump into the game or already have the PP sets needed to dominate (as in the best 8 and best 2 Divas).
I've liked this game a lot. I've logged quite a few hours into it, but nothing like others. I had actually planned on throwing some money their way for a mega pull, just because they deserve it. Still, this is enough for me to say "Screw this, this isn't balance but greed, and I'm out", because well, that's what it is. It drops it to 3 ways to get upper tier cards:
Farm nonstop and hope you get lucky
KOTR every 2 days and hope you get lucky to get 2 of the same as rewards twice in a row
Give them all your money
That's greed. /u/NWGameDad_CD , if you're still watching these forums, right now would be a REALLY nice time to jump in and explain things, otherwise you're likely to lose a LOT of players and their money over this.
Edit for formatting

This guy sums it up perfectly.

Greedy ass developers

Just thought everyone that still wants to play that the new update is out. My freebie was Jey Uso. Sad face.

My survivor was...Nikki Bella.

Hot...and pretty cool I guess. It's definity an upgrade over my epic pro Brie Bella

I got Seth Rollins. Not complaining.

I also got a Mr. Fuji uncommon card lol

EDIT: It's a support card that adds speed to the entire deck. A Legendary/Survivor version would be interesting for those who have shitty speed. However, my deck has Leg Pros Rey, Eddie, and Shawn, so I think I'll be okay hah

There were a ton of cards added, mostly to the Survivor class, I'm guessing.

But being able to hold 10 energy cards is a great addition. Too bad about taking away the pro legendary for the king of the ring rewards. :(

Very, very happy with my freebie. Don't even have to worry about training it.

Today was the first time I touched the game since the rebalance. Going to do a few KOTRs to see what I can get. Good thing I still have 3 Legend Pro HBKs. Sadly my Cameron is terrible now.

I'm still toiling away on Epic++. I'm miles away from legendary, so I may just slowly grind from now on. I think I might do kotr and just lose on purpose to farm super rares to try and fill out the catalog? Not sure.

Considering picking this up again after quitting it a couple of months ago. I'm just wondering how much better the drop rate of good cards is in exhibition. If it went from 0.1% to 0.2%, I'm not very interested.

Looks like a new mode is coming sometime soon:

Probably something similar to the season mode in the NBA card game?
