I don't think I'd waste Rusev on the Rock at this point.

My dream would still be for Jack Swagger to be managed/trained by Kurt Angle (with Zeb in there as well) for a reshot at beating Rusev at Mania. It's not going to happen.

They should give the chance to someone who could use the push.

Made no sense for a 60 year old man to interfere and beat up the greatest wrestler of all time.
Should have been Randy Orton. It was his home town and the story had already been told for it to happen.

I think at one time it was Orton. Everything was worked as if it was Orton's moment. It's strange for Sting to pick this moment to make his stand but I'm still glad he finally showed up. He's the bigger talking point and I would have sent him out over Orton in the end.

The problem with rusev is that he has beaten nearly every body in the low/mid/mid high tier, and I don't think they have someone who is up and coming that could fill that spot.

Quick photoshop. Hair dye and more makeup around the eyes would do wonders.

If you want to see how much their audio setup subdues crowd noise

I've gone to a RAW before, you hear the pops.. then you watch the replay on TV and it's like "where did those pops go"

For what its worth, Sting got an electrifying pop and this video is proof positive of that. As cheesy as it may sound (and growing up as a little Stinger) seeing this video almost brought a tear to my eyes. Good stuff right there.

Edit: WTF?? WWE took down a fan video? What a shame. This video captured the genuine excitement far better than they and their crappy pop eliminating audio did.

I saw it before it got taken down. The pop was massive. I was at Raw in Chicago in March when they did the CM Punk fake out and this was louder.

Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that the current plan is:
  • Sting/HHH at Mania
  • Rock/Rusev at Mania considered because HHH is now busy
  • Still Lesnar/Reigns
... and that HHH/Ryback at the Rumble is probably not going to happen.

LOL at them jumping behind Reigns already. He's going to flame out so fast.

Ambrose should be the guy.

Now that I think about it, isn't the fact that Ryback/HHH was even hinted at proof that the main event wasn't going to end the way it did as late as... Raw? Did they hint at it on Smackdown too? I don't see any way for them to justify Triple H wrestling less than two months after he was "gone from WWE".

Made no sense for Scott bleeding Armstrong to stop the count like a numpty and then run out the ring so he could get KOed instead of resuming the 3 count as the 60 year old slowly walked to the ring. For fucks sake, he could have just rolled back in the ring and quietly counted during the 80 minute Taker-esque stare down.

Sting/HHH sounds good but I think we would all prefer an Undertaker match. Maybe he can guest ref it?

Rock Rusev is a waste of the Rusev storyline. Have Rock guest ref it.

Lesnar/Reigns is going to suck. Especially if Lesnar doesn't resign. They are better off letting Lesnar drop the title at another PPV. They are gonna fuck this Reigns push so much and again it feels like they are forcing him down everyone's throats because he has the body that Vince craves. The interviews that he has had is especially true when compared to how over Bryan is with mass media.

Isn't the point that he isn't gone but just not in power? I'm sure he will still show his face, but won't be calling the shots. On TV anyway.

So why was Ryback eliminated so quickly after getting hyped up as the gamechanger for the match?

They didn't want him working out there.

Look at his Cesaro match from last week. He can't work unless he is doing a 3 minute squash match or is getting carried by somebody who can work his ass off.

They wanted this main event to be something that everyone wants to see and watch wrestling again.

They can't do blood, they can't do crazy spots like the attitude era, they don't have skills that guys in the 80s, they can't even do crazy violent stuff.

So they had it set so the best 2 workers were left in the ring.

Nobody wants to see Kane/Show or worse...Kane/Cena. It doesn't do anything but expose what wrestling has become under Vince with no competition.

Anyone else notice that Cena and Sting never appeared on screen at the same time????

The company has 3 people it cares most about protecting.(Other than HHH and family)

  1. Cena
  2. Reigns
  3. Rusev

They will not under any circumstance make these guys look like jobbers or weak.

I would be surprised if Cena/
Sting
is the WM31 match just to push Cena again.

Sting/HHH makes sense; the problem with Taker / Sting is that a) who wins? and b) Taker needs someone really good to help him in his matches at this point due to age. Sting doesn't qualify. A street fight between HHH & Sting would cover their weaknesses and be a fun brawl.

I thought for sure they are going Cena / Rusev. Rock / Rusev makes some sense, but Cena / Rusev seems more logical.

Talk about how much a Bryan injury ended up hosing their plans. Per original reports, it was supposed to be Bryan vs Lesnar at SSlam & NoC, then Cena vs Lesnar at RR. Reigns is weird. I feel like they've made him a 100x worse by not letting him just be himself; the sarcastic, smooth talking laid back butt kicker. Everyone who ever interacts with him outside of scripted promos seems to adore him (even folks who interact with Reigns ringside during Shield matches). But I think they're trying to apply the ye old forumla to Reigns and it feels too fake. If Bryan gets back for WM; wouldn't be surprised if they go Bryan vs Lesnar & Cena vs Reigns. But they can't plan for Bryan being back, alas.

This makes no sense. Most of the wrestlers are given their real hometowns for some random reason he isn't.

No plenty of wrestlers have gimmick hometowns, just some are more obvious than others. Cactus Jack came from Truth or Consequences NM because it made sense for the character, same with Undertaker/Death Valley. Ziggler is a bleach blonde party bro so it makes more sense for him to be from Hollywood FL rather than Cleveland OH

This is all I needed to know.

Why do they keep saying DZ is from Hollywood FL when he you know, isn't?

Sometimes wrestlers are billed from where the character is from. In Dolph's case Hollywood=showoff. It does make some sense.

Now why a US based wrestler can be from the smallest hick town in the middle of nowhere(EG Perry, OK. Population Jack Swaggers parents) and non US wrestlers have to be billed from the closest city an American might have heard of, well that's just WWE treating it's fans like idiots.

Guyana? isn't that were Kofi is from? hurr durrr

So let me get this straight they debut Sting last night and he's not schedule to appear the rest of the week.

................Vince should just sell the damn company. It's not being ran properly at all.

He's 55 years old and the novelty of him being in the WWE--essentially the entire selling point now--diminishes with each appearance. He's likely signed for one match right now and it probably won't be until Wrestlemania. They need to make sure his appearances remain a Big Deal until then.

Maybe they should stop cutting deals like that? It's bad enough the damn World Champion doesn't even show up to Pay Per View events.

I personally love every second of Sting coming out.
I read a few rumours on sunday afternoon and held out till after work monday night to watch it.

Its sting, in a WWE ring. As someone that only really has watched WWE for the last 15+years (Mainly because the network STILL isn't here in the UK) i loved seeing it.

Sure he's 55 but it's better than nothing and its ALOT better than the match ending with HHH twatting dolph all over the place and Rollins winning.

If they held out keeping Sting a secret till now it would of obviously been better eg Sting 2K15 DLC instantly released after SS, Figures etc.
