Apparently
Austin Aries
and is at the NXT tapings tonight

Dude was apparently at a taping a month ago as well and signed autographs so its not really something thats hush hush.

Triple H is teasing a big NXT surprise though so I wouldn't be shocked.

I guess WWE had a change in direction with their talent department because guys like AJ Styles and Samoa Joe would have probably been seen as "too old" even two years ago.

Heck age was a big part why
Aries
didnt get signed a few years ago if I remember correctly.

... Whats Christopher Daniels up to these days? Nah... thats probably pushing it. Dude is mid 40's.

This is great and all, but if WWE actually goes through with letting Roman win the Royal Rumble again, especially with all those stipulations, then what difference is this going to make? If they actually go through with it, Network subscriptions are going to fall off a cliff and fans will take notice of this Lucha Underground Season 2 thing happening next Wednesday (talk about getting your timing right!).

And having AJ Styles on the WWE roster is great and all, but is anyone really expecting Vince to put over someone who was a mainstay in TNA? That would require acknowledging TNA's existence, and it'll be a cold day in hell before that happens.

Yesterday, I fired up the Network, watched the last Raw of 1997, and got treated to Jim Cornette's rant about "sports entertainment" and how it used to be for him. Maybe Vince should watch that again?

Whoever Roman is facing at Mania is winning the Rumble. Trips, Randy, or Brock are the obvious choices. I really think they want him to have his 'Wrestlemania Moment' of taking the title in the main event, so the Rumble will ultimately be about building towards that.

Separate deal but probably coming in around the same time, yeah.

And I imagine as purely a NXT role like Somoa Joe.

The other 4 signings seem very much main roster deals.

AJ Styles and Nakamura will be singles athletes.
Gallows and Anderson will be teamed up with Balor.

I'd be shocked if "balor club" is not at RAW after mania.

Had Roman not won the title twice already this year having "his Mania moment" might have actually meant something.

Yeah, I think that's probably the case. I'd imagine AJ will be the first call up, and they'll bring Nakamura in at some point after that but I don't have a clue when. Maybe Raw After Mania to give AJ enough time to be there on his own, Nakamura a little time to adjust to whatever WWE wants him to do and to keep their surprises spread out.

Gallows and Anderson are likely going to NXT to help give their tag team division another bit of fresh blood. I'd expect if American Alpha or Enzo and Big Cass get the titles, they'll feud with them and take the belts.

They had to pull the trigger. He was floundering. I mean you could have just chose not to push him to the top this year over everyone else, but that was never a choice for Vince. And to be fair injuries forced their hand a bit.

Hope AJ shows at the Rumble at this point. I've amped myself up for it.

Idk man, he probably gets shitted on harder by crowds if they drew out his inevitable title reign all the way to Mania. Plus it doesn't really matter whether you held the belt before, closing Mania with a title victory will always be a thing in wrestling lore. Punk held the strap for a year+ and was still butt-hurt he never got that opportunity.

TNA added AJ matches to their YouTube account yesterday. Looks more like their trying to get an association buzz than anything else. It's sad because it really does nothing for them except look lower rate and petty and possibly hurt the wrestlers involved in the story.

NXT Spoilers

But like, everyone above already said it

Holy shiet that first comment on that haha. Hey did they allow him to keep his name? He has a shirt and tron with it.

The change in hiring is HHH getting Johnny Ace out and his own guys installed.

The problem is still Vince once they're on the roster.

So incredibly petty.

At this point, I honestly wish that this company would just fold and put a stop to their nonsense once and for all.

Amazing that this zombie of a company continues to walk and trick TV stations into picking them up.

When the POP TV deal fails and they are looking for ANOTHER home at the end of the year, I feel like they might just go to Twitch at this point. Who the FUCK is going to pick them up?

That feel when TNA has been around longer than WCW

Because HHH is doing the hiring and NXT stuff is hands-off from Vince.

If they're established in the US already, keeping the name makes sense.

lol keep dreaming.

These guys need to thank Samoa Joe for the happy accident that caused him to keep his name for good, now WWE seems to let these guys keep their name if they're just going to be in NXT.

Weird though doesn't Vince always change the names so he owns the rights? Meaning you're shit out of luck unless you legally change your name (hey austin).

So because AJ is showing up on the main roster we can still look forward to him being called Stylish Allen then?

I wonder how they will explain his giant AJ tattoo.

But I don't think they will try rebrand someone pushing 40 who will probably not be in the company long term.

If there's one thing I learned about Vince's booking style, it's to not expect him to do the obvious thing and to push the guy with a lot of muscles.

Also, after watching a lot of late-90s era Raw on the Network, is it me, or does Owen Hart look like Dave Coulier of Full House fame? I can't be the only one thinking this.
