STFU cheesy choir, and Drew's not sounding too hot tonight. I thought her voice had more power before, but now I really can't imagine her being able to give a Heart song even a passable effort.

Wow, first week I didn't like Drew.

Great voice, but she really needs to shake it up. What's really weird is that this was the PERFECT song for her to do something different, but they completely cut out the uptempo part of the song. ???

I agree with LA on Drew. Another predictable ballad. Not sure why she's so popular on this thread. Great voice, but like Pia Toscana, she's singing the same thing week after week.

Drew: B-
Little shaky the entire way through, and even though I LOVE her, I was kinda bored. And like Nicole, I was waiting for the performance to pick up...and it never did. Nonetheless, her voice is magical. It wasn't as enchanting this week, but still decent.

Marcus: B-
Meh....it didn't feel authentic; I think he was trying a little too hard. But it's rock week, so he went for it, so I applaud him for that. Vocally, "come on, come on!" were the only parts that were a little off.

Astro: A+

Melanie: B+

Drew: B-
Marcus: B-

LaKoda Rayne: C+

He just completely missed the spirit of the song.

"Piece of my Heart" is balls-to-the-wall Soul Rock. Regardless of how you make it your own, when you sing that song you grab the fuckin mic and leave it all on the stage. You should be hoarse when you're finished singing that song.

You don't do choreography and coo at the camera while surrounded by pussy-poppin hoes when you sing PIECE OF MY HEART,

Ugh...so much fail.

I just watched Woodstick...Then and Now yesterday....

Marcus actually made my stomach hurt.

THE NAMES IN THE SCREENS BEHIND HIM ;_;
This boy is just TOO creative. He is ready to do his thing right NOW

He's a prodigy, the kid is too good for a stupid competition like this.

My problem with Rachel's cuteness is that its constantly evoked to mask the fact that she's not vocally on par with the other contestants. Her vocals are just amateur - big does not equal good. If any other contestant on the show sang like Rachel they would be panned.

I disagree strongly. First of all, they've all got amateur vocals, with the exceptions of Melanie and possibly Josh. That's the simple truth, so the judges then have to look at who can become the best, and more importantly who would sound best on record.

If you're saying the druggie is more vocally talented... or LeRoy (amateur hour at its finest) ... or even Stacy/Screech/Tears ...then I have to imagine you're focusing solely on range. But in that case Drew would be easily disqualified, as she only hits about 3 or 4 notes correctly, and can't raise her voice above a whisper before it all falls apart. I think having a pure voice (Melanie) is great and all, but because you don't have one doesn't mean you don't have vocal potential. Are you gonna say early Stacy Lattisaw didn't sound good? She's the artist they're trying to channel with Rachel, though nobody's saying it. And look what two years of industry training did for her voice.

I didn't say any of that. In fact I said in regard to Rachel that big singing isn't always good singing.

And I personally don't think Rachel will sound all that good on a recording because her vocals are so unfocused and underdeveloped. She doesn't convey emotion with her tone. She sings like a shouting child, which for me doesn't cut it when you have contestants like Drew, who would sound infinitely better on a recording because of the maturity of her vocals.

I'm watching this on time delay, and man Stacy looked pissed during the judging.

I can't stand her theatrics when she wins or gets criticism. She has absolutely no grace.

Okay just watched the episode.

Wow this week was entertaining because of the judges. Its like they read my post about the UK X-Factor being so drama filled and they are now incorporating it here.

Simon told Steve to "Shut it"
Simon told LA Reid to "Watch his back"
Simon said Stacey's hair sucked last week.
Drew comes out defending herself vs LA but has nothing agst Nicole except "Sorry" LOL

So awesome.

Steve had a bit more personality this week.. I like how he said "HORRIBLE COMMENTS" and they all railed on Steve.. that was awesome :P

Stacey needs to go. She is terrible. That was the worst performance on X-Factor USA in the Live Shows so far.. (Except for that first chick in the Simons group of 4 who got eliminated)

Bottom 2 will be Stacey and Lakoda Rayne. I really think Stacey will go home.

I really wish the bottom 2 was Stacey and Chris Rene though.

I must admit Drew's response to LA seemed pretty scripted.

"Astro, Astro... Can you just suck for once?!"

I don't care if my mind is in the gutter, but I literally facepalmed.

Edit:

Ehhh, you guys liked Josh? I thought it was an ok performance, and a mediocre vocals. It sounded like he choked on something before going on stage. I just don't think he controlled the song, and that his voice was ultimately drowned by everything else.

Melanie was the best of the night, as far as I'm concerned. She sounded great, she looked great, and she can definitely emote, but I hope she can push some genre boundaries. I don't want her to change her's entirely, just fuse it more with other complimenting genres.

I'm personally over Drew, and Rachel is starting to get on my nerve. If it wasn't for Melanie, I'd pull the plug. Although Mel has to stop taking to church, else I'm gonna stop pulling for her as well. Gosh, I'm running out of people to root for.

Fresh bucket of tears incoming.

Also, Inferior Robyn will be performing tonight. I guess this is a good thing, none of the contestants will be able to claim they did the worst performance this week.

Edit: OMG LEROY. LOL.

Amateur hour.

I like this song. I was playing Sonic Generations while waiting for X-Factor to come on and this song reminds me of Sonic 2 music.

Still can't sing tho :)
