How dumb is this show. Canty has been in the bottom 2 like 3 weeks in a row. Now Rachel isn't all that and wouldn't have won, but I mean, come on. How can you say Canty is worth sticking around when he's consistently in the bottom hole? And you keep kicking off the other person? This is so stupid. It's like you want people to stop watching.

I don't believe any of these contestants will be able to have a long-lasting career in music. At this point I'm just rooting for someone to take home that 5 mil.

That was quality hip hop. Just because you can't tell as you know nothing about hip hop doesn't change this fact. It wasn't amazing but it was damn quality.

Now you get garbage like Chris Rene who will beat out Melanie Amaro to go head to head with Josh. It's a fight between soccer moms (who have similar taste to you) and tweens (who also have similar taste to yours)

Astro belongs with Willow Smith. The only thing quality about him was the depths he sank to to disrespect his mother by acting like a thug on national tv.

That's what I heard too and probably what's happening in panel #5 of that picture reel above.

He did manage to comfort her afterwards though.
 
It seems like Steve Jones is fine at being a stuffed shirt delivering teleprompter dialog to camera but when he has to think on his feet and deal with real human shit happening around him on stage he is just totally inept. Seacrest would have handled this properly!

You know the hilarious thing? Before Cheryl got sacked and left a void in the judges' table, Nicole was supposed to be the host. Just absorb that for a second.

I wouldn't trust Nicole to tie her own shoes right, let alone comfort a devastated child. Steve is like Cat Deeley compared to what Nicole would have been

Seriously, they could have a Roomba host the show and there would be more empathy for the contestants.

Not gonna lie though, Steve's emotionless hosting has occasionally left me in stitches.

Nicole fucked up because she could have voted to send Marcus home and that would have made it 3-1.

She didn't have the balls to tell Canty to GTFO, so instead she voted to send Rachel home making it 2-2 and sending it to deadlock where the lowest number of votes gets the boot.

Nicole didn't want to be the deciding vote for either of them, so I think she intentionally sent the vote to a deadlock just so she could say that it was America that decided and not her. I think she thought Marcus would be the one going home because he's been in the bottom for a couple of weeks now, but the shit backfired in her face because Rachel was the one who actually got the lowest number of votes.

She could have avoided it all if she had a spine and did her job as a judge.

I've never met a teen or pre-teen that wasn't phony. That's nothing to criticize her over. She's just a little kid.

Now those 40 year old women acting the phony... yeah that's easy to make fun of.

She's a little girl holding a brave face. It was cracking over and over before the results, but she kept on being a trooper. That's not fake. That's having grace under pressure.
 
Wow, holy shit! The results show is sooooooo much better than the actual show itself! Nicole has really did herself in. Next week is going to be interesting, that's for sure.
 
I was seriously worried about Rachel after Marcus's performance but then she performed and utterly destroyed him on that stage. I was shocked. So sad to see her go after putting her heart on the stage like that.

I would never have guessed this back a few week ago but I'm starting to pull for Chris to win it. Yeah he can't sing like Melanie or Josh but I can definitely see him making an album that is more memorable...he just has way more charisma and uniqueness to his voice (not all of which is good). Someone said he could do Mraz sort of stuff and I'll be damned if I don't find that to be completely true.

Melanie is a great singer but still a budget Maria or Whitney without a lot of charisma. Josh has a fantastic voice but it isn't anything we haven't heard before. Both will have some success I think but not really all that memorable.

Success = having a viable career in music.
 
What the hell, all I saw on my twitter feed was seething hate for Nicole. What the fuck happened?

This might get me to watch X-Factor.

I think the save-me songs have absolutely no impact on who stays. Astro was correct in just not bothering with it.
 
Nicole needs to go, they need to get rid of the mentoring specific categories since the judges just vote for their own people regardless of how well they did or didn't perform.

Every week you hear the bs from LA and Nicole and Paula too for that matter that's it's become a joke Simon was right when he said the piranha pool, the save me vote means nothing the Judges have their minds made up way before that.

The difference is he was raised by wolves and didn't know the meaning of respect. I'm thinking the Smiths will straighten him out when he does a verse on Willow's next jam. Big Will will do what "Astro's" Mom didn't.

But Rachel never put up this tough, mature front. "I don't dance" was the moment I knew Astro's schtick was as phony as Rachel's undying bubbliness.

Moral of the story: kids aren't ready for this show. You know something's wrong when your behavior makes Stacy Francis of all people look dignified.
