I don't know a single person who liked that movie and I didn't even post on forums when it came out.
I liked that movie. Although I guess we don't really know each other.

Also, watching a small feature on "Whats Next", Kinberg said that First Class focused on Mags, DOFP on Charles, and then he says Apocalypse will focus largely on one character as well. He never outright says a name but all of the imagery was of Mystique. Not sure if I want a film focusing of Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique.
As far as I know, Apocalypse has none of the old cast in it
Yeah, they've kind of hinted at that elsewhere. I'd feel a lot better about it if she was actually good in the role. She's not January Jones bad, but she always looks and sounds like she'd rather be doing something else in these movies. Maybe she'll step it up if it's focused on her.
I already had enough Mystique in DOFP, I hope not
Only proving his point. Out of Marvel Studios' catalogue, only The Winter Soldier comes close to Singer's flawed Returns film.
Still the best-shot Comicbook superhero film.
Peter still looked like shit.
Who?
My copy of the Rogue Cut finally arrived today, so I just watched it. Holy crap at all the changes they've made, even to small scenes.
Is it for the better or is it unnecessary fluff just to drag out the scenes.
More LOTR Extended Edition than X-Men 1.5. There's one new significant scene that bored me (Mystique/Beast) but all the other changes I really liked, especially what they did with the future side of the movie. It addresses how the sentinels magically knew exactly where they were and went an entire battalion after them.
My copy is on the way. I'm in Taipei so I have to wait for my friend to bring it back with him from the U.S.
So you're saying it's a substantial revision of the film? Does it add a lot more in terms of character moments/development or do are the additions more action oriented?
I was very curious as to whether or not this was Singer's "director's cut" but their PR guy on Twitter (who is very cool) said that they want to leave it for the fans to decide which version of the film they prefer.
So what say you?
Edit: There was a deleted scene on the original bluray where Mystique was back at the mansion (for some reason) having a conversation in the kitchen with Charles, Hank, and Logan. It was actually pretty bad and added nothing; just meandered a lot with pointless dialogue. I can plainly see why it was cut. Please don't tell me it was put back in.
Nah, it's in the mansion but it's just her and Hank. It plays off their relationship in First Class quite a bit but I admittedly wasn't paying much attention at that point.
I haven't seen the original cut for a while but from what I remember, the changes are fairly substantial. The Rogue segment alone is pretty significant but even excluding the new scenes, they've altered most of the movie.
It's not perfect but right now I consider it an improvement over the original.
sorry if this was posted before but it made me laugh

What am I looking for exactly?
.....Okay?
Someone has never seen the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie.
I thought the original was the best comic book film to come out since The Dark Knight, so I'm curious to see how much more of an "improvement" it could possibly be.
Thanks for the input.
That's going to be really weird since that version of Wolverine will literally cease to exist once time-hopping Logan takes over his brain in the future.http://www.ew.com/article/2015/07/15/x-men-deadpool-wolverine-fantastic-four-gambit-portrait
EW site confirming Wolvie is in Apocalypse.
I still think the original is the better version. The Beast/Mystique scene isn't very good and makes Hank look dumb as fuck (in the commentary the editor/composer doesn't even really buy the scene). The Rogue stuff is alright, but you can see why it was cut. I do like a lot of the changes to dialogue and some of the small scenes and extensions they added here and there. But overall, the original, I think, is still the way to go.
If you haven't bought the original cut on blu-ray yet, it is included with the Rogue cut.
Yeah, this is the only reason why I decided to buy the Rogue Cut. I'm glad I held off on the original edition bluray.
You know, initially they weren't going to include the Theatrical Cut. It was fucking baffling to me, but they told me on Twitter they changed their mind in the late stages of putting the whole thing together. So glad they did. It's very important to preserve the original work while allowing fans to decide for themselves whether or not the alternate cut is worthy.

it's not an improvement over the original, no way. the editing is off and you can tell the movie was better off without the inclusion of some of those scenes. it's like in the awkward spot in between the lotr extended editions and a hacked up feeling cash grab.
it's great that they included the theatrical on there though.
upon further analysis, I came to accept Apocalypse's look, in fact it's way more Egyptian than the comic book, which is appropriate..
nah, can't convince myself either. still ugly as fuck

So when MTV News caught up with Peters on Friday (July 17) to chat about his new indie flick Safelight, we just had to ask with Apocalypse coming out next summer with a gaggle of new stars, and with Aaron Taylor-Johnson making his mark as the same(ish) character in Avengers: Age of Ultron last May, is Peters feeling the heat when it comes to topping his Pentagon escape?
Well, yeah, its always difficult to try to top something like that, he told us over the phone. The special effects guys, man, they absolutely nailed that and did a fantastic job on it. This year were working on something thats bigger and better, keeping the same elements that worked, then adding a few new ones. Im really excited to see it all cut together, and Im excited for people to see it, too. I think its going to be a really fun sequence in what is going to be a massive X-Men movie. The scope of it with the end of the world and Apocalypse coming is going to be a very large, epic X-Men film.
so, Quicksilver in only one sequence again then probably dies

Imagine this in one scene with both of them together.
I was going to say it was lame to try to one up that QS scene until you said this.![]()
