X-Men Destiny |OT| - A new game with X-Men...oh no, he's not in, play as Aimi Yoshida

How does this games dialogue system even work? They talk about "deep meaningful choices" but I'm looking on youtube for footage of anything that isn't combat or dramatic slow-mo cutscenes and can't find anything...

punch a box of humans or give them candy.

Ok, now I see why they didn't show off this deep and meaningful morality system much:

Count me among those who are surprised that this is out so soon. I thought this was next year! I might have to pick this up, if only to see what SK has been up to for all this time.

At least they got more use out of those Too Human animations. Gameplay it's practically TH2. Shame about the no co-op though. Could have been fun.

I kind of feel like this game is what's left of Too Human 2.

I'm torn, on one hand, I don't think this project deserves to do well (doubtless Dyack will find someone else to blame once again) but on the other hand I don't want the Canadian government gicing SK any more money .

Although the latest money was for 'self publishing' so hopefullky that means that 2 Human 2 can come out and bomb, putting the company out of its misery.

I have $40 in Kmart coupons so I would essentially be getting this plus a $15 coupon for twenty dollars. I think it's more than worth it, especially for an X-men nut like myself. I was surprised by Wolverine, and even though I know they are made by different companies, I'm still excited nonetheless.

Anyone else think this might actually turn out good? I have this weird gut feeling that it'll be a pretty good game... so under the radar, no expectations whatsoever, and then they just deliver a solid game surprising everyone. Not AAA or anything, but like 7-8/10

Some people on gamefaqs claim to have gotten the game early. They are saying that it's okay, and lasts about 4-5 hours.

It's gamefaqs, but multiple people have been saying that it's short.

This is how I felt about Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions, it was barely talked about but it turned out to be a good game IMO.

EDIT:

Wait, what? How can it be that short? Is the story different for each member so the game encourages you to play through three times?

I really don't think this game is going to be any good, but I really want to play it anyway. I played a demo of it at PAX and was giggling like a schoolgirl at the fanservice. I'll probably give it a shot after a price drop, or maybe if it hits Redbox.

Although I haven't seen much about the DS version. I take it it's just a crappy port?

Wow, that short? Maybe I'll wait til it hits the bargain bin.

Wow, 4-5 hours? That's terrible. Definition of a "rental" or a <$10 buy.

Wow, this is coming out tomorrow?! I've heard so little about it I assumed it was coming out next year. Looks like it could use the extra time too.

Was UA1 good?

UA2 was shit but I just looked up that they didn't develop that one

Legends 2 was amazing I'd love another one of those with Online

I had a really good time with UA1, playing co-op with a buddy online. Of course it was years ago so I don't know how well it aged or what UA2 did differently.

I'm playing through UA1 on my PSP for the first time. I played through Legends 2 on the PSP a few years ago, so it's hard for me to remember how similar it is, but I'm pretty sure it's almost the same gameplay.

Wolverine at least seems to play indentical. Instead of health potions there are health and energy orbs that enemies drop and you just absorb. I need to look up how to do the hero's super moves, because I don't understand how they work in UA1. Wolverine seems to be the only guy I have who is leveled up enough to use it, but it just seems to activate automatically when the meter gets full. Anyone know if that's how it's suppose to work?

The Marvel fan service is off the CHARTS in this game and I'm not even very far into it. You start on the SHIELD helicarrior and then you go to a SHIELD giant tank thing, and now I'm off to Atlantis to help out Namor.

no the definition of a rental is a game that you can rent and then have to return after a certain amount of time because you do not own it.

Unlike Legends 2 MUA did not have the dungeon crawl variety of loot. Loot was uncommon and did not have as many cool permutations, i think characters only got one slot. Each character had suits instead which gave skill bonuses, so once you level up your guys the suits are done and you rarely ever get new items again. I played on PSP and the backtracking through the game got very inconsistent with what the scripting did(some bosses come back and talk and some don't appear, some levels are empty if you access them backwards). Redoing your favourite levels does not work quite as well as XML2, the simulator stuff has better high score chasing though and also doesn't stop paying out cash and prizes if you beat it once. The knockback button now charges up which changes all of the combos a little bit, I think XML1 was best in this area, can't remember if I prefer 2 or MUA next. The end of act bosses are all gigantic and QTE or other gimmicks in between clearing normal enemies. Net play with randoms on the PSP was extremely laggy and seemed to lacking in netcode (press forward and wait your ping to move).

The online might be better on other systems or if you can organize a game with someone. It is a fun brawler and gets you new characters(most powers you have seen before though) and areas but does not have the dungeon crawl loot aspect to it and leveling does not do as much.

I think it is this but it has been a few years for me:

R and Triangle unless a super power move that uses some type of special thing you pick up off the ground(not energy, health or cash). I think you do have to buy it as a skill and level it. This was done because XML1 had invulnerability skills that could be used indefinitely as they were normal powers.

I just want a true Xmen Legends sequel.
Having played X-men Legends and all games but MUA2 for hundreds of hours each I want something along those lines but a little different now. Keep it as a brawler rpg-lite even but new game from the ground up that is online friendly too.

The biggest crime was that they had a working mod of Wolverine in-house that was changed to make a combat system for playing as Deadpool, and now they'll never be able to make that game.
