Xbox 360 & Community Content - Fear of Change?

There are lots of factors, but as the OP pointed out, the E3 2005 presentation painted XBL as the opposite of what it is today. Pretty slimy, but not shocking considering the source.

Those fucking bastards, thank GAWD Nintendo and Sony are in it for hugs and tickles.

Putting aside your endless Pro-Sony lovefest posts, I agree that they need to open up LIVE but the probelm is:
- LIVE currently has no equal in terms of functionality
- Sony has not seen any noticable returns on "taking that ball and running with it", UT3 has sold like shit.

Until either of those 2 issues are addressed, MS will not feel the pressure to open up LIVE. Hopelly LitteBig Planet will at least address the 2nd point

I was thinking more on the lines of Echochrome and LBP. Epic is the one that has fucked up the sharing system for UT3 PS3. Make it downloadable.

PS: LBP is the future of gaming.

PPS: I'm PC first, console second once more. Sony is just delivering the goods the best at the moment. :D

If it's just fear of being sued why not just treat the custom mods/mappacks like Forge maps are treated? You play them with your friends in your own game, it would be amazingly awesome if you could create full maps on the PC and transfer them over something like the current XNA PC ->Xbox thing, hell imagine how much longer some games would last if the devs did something like 4-5 of the better user created maps on the map cycle every week and then at the end of the month everyone votes for the best map or 2 to become a permanent addition to the Line-up, Devs would pretty much get free maps added to their game monthly along with being able to put out their own map packs every couple of months for $5 or w/e.

The other thing I never really got w/ the 360 (correct if somethings totally wrong here) is why can't we have our own "Dedicated servers" hooked up through our PCs like CS and other PC games have, and be able to use Server mods on our own dedicated server or simply just tie the server into our Gamertag to use that to host games instead of players in any matchmaking games we join.

Fear of lawsuits huh? Is that why they denied the mugshot feature in Burnout? You know the one where people can take pictures of .... *things*
