Xbox Game Pass Retro Announced

So can you actually download these games, and play them offline? Or is is streaming only? I am surprised they are including the Amiga as well! Also I am guessing Microsoft is going more in this direction rather than expanding their B.C catalogue...(fair few games left yet on the O.G Xbox and 360 that could do with a transition)

Tried it on XSX and there are constant glitches in most games, even in super old titles like Police Quest 1. Maybe it's my shitty Internet, who knows. I don't get it, you can download the app to your Xbox (around 400MB) so why can't you download ROM's as well to make the experience stable?
 
I didn't expect this to work because we dont have xcloud here in my country but it does! Loaded up a few games and it works just fine (zork game had some artifacts around text, though). Really itching to play these Sierra games: loved them 30+ years ago.

This is great actually and there is absolutely no reason to be salty, passive agressive or just plain stupid about it here in this thread.
 
I went ahead and got the $10 pass. Its fine. Definitely a lot of crap but its fun for a bit. Not terrible to try it out for a year but I'm sure I won't need it after that. Playing Splatterhouse. Works fine for me.

You have my interest now! I haven't looked at the list closely, so hadn't realized Splatterhouse was on the list.
Backlog is crazy enough as is, but I'll need to sneak in some time or skip some sleep to slip that one in.
 
man how are they doing this it is already live on my xbox app, did it update in the background or what lol

spent a bit time, I really like the simple design and ease of use. it will be cool to play them classics every now and then

Sure, I mean, why not? Why would anyone try to spin this as a bad thing? It's just more for people that weren't expecting it. It's good for those that are interested, and those that aren't, aren't losing anything.

You can run these games in a much better state on like a toaster. So on one hand it's interesting, but on another you really should t be doing this as the implementation kind to sucks it seems.

Are you alright mate? They've added games for free to Xbox owners and PC owners legally, pirate on PC no one cares.

??? Why would a company just dump rom files online for, what preservation is that it's already done. This gets interest from an entire new market to keep people interested which preserves them.

Like you pointed out all these games are already 'preserved' in that you can easily download the roms.
But preservation goes beyond just them existing. I can emulate Final Fight six ways to Sunday, but I still bought the beat em bundle.
