Xbox Gamepass 2025 is already looking stacked AF.

What an insane list. Just up until May 15th with Doom, if games like 33 and Atomfall and Midnight are good, it’s by far the best year either console will have had thus far this gen and we’d be a mere five months in. Throw in the end of last year with Stalker and Indy, damn. Acquisition machine finally firing on all cylinders.

  • Ninja Gaiden 2 Black – January 23

  • Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector – January 31
  • Date Everything – February 14
  • Avowed – February 18
  • Atomfall – Thursday, March 27
  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Apr 24
  • South of Midnight – April 8
  • Doom: The Dark Ages – May 15
  • The Alters – Q1 2025

Remember folks, it's okay to subscribe for a one-off month and then cancel. Really pillage that selection. But don't ever let Microsoft bill you on a recurring basis. Yonder lies sadness.

Remember folks, it's okay to get 18 months GPU for like 70 Euro if you buy it from India/Turkey/Brasil. Microsoft can afford it.

Short version:
Requirement: You don't have an active GP sub!

You buy India/Turkey/Brasil keys for 36 months Game Pass Core from Eneba/Kinguin/Gamivo whatever
You redeem the keys with a vpn
You book one month of GPU for 1 Euro and Core gets converted 1:2 = 18 months GPU

Guys guys blockbuster has heaps of movies this year. Can't wait to watch them.

See that's a weird thing to say. Even if it was 2005.

How serendipitous you should mention Blockbusters.

The way I survived college playing so many games while being broke as fuck is actually because I used to constantly rent games from blockbusters.
I would legit go check just to see what new games they had in store, id even chitchat with the clerks to find out if a specific game I was looking for was coming soon or at another store.

Absolutely spot on analogy
Absolutely terrible conclusion.

P.S I actually did the same thing with movies, unfortunate the BB wasnt close enough for me to constantly pass by otherwise id probably be in store everyday.

I don’t understand why that would be a weird thing to say? First sentence sounds great?

You know what killed Blockbuster was streaming, not people wanting “ownership”, right? In fact, streaming also largely killed movie “ownership” not just Blockbuster because other than a few diehards, nobody gives a fuck about “owning” something they will watch once in most cases.

Gaming’s just a few years behind, but it’s inevitable…

I never would've played Atlas Fallen if not for GP and it's a great game (the intro is terrible but once you get through that it's amazing).

Gamepass is awesome if you're a kid or teen with no job nor responsibilities and you can game all day everyday if you want. But for an adult that has a job, a wife/husband, kids, i just don't see how you're going to have enough time to play on gamepass to justify the price of it. I feel like alot of adults have to use their time wisely so they're going to be more selective in what they play meaning it makes more sense to buy what they want because that game will hold them over for awhile and they're not stuck in a subscription service.

Your dedication to shitposting in GP threads is quite impressive. Keep it up!

gamepass is bad since you dont own the games.

I’m subbed to GP until 2027. Anything I want to own forever after my sub ends, it’ll be deeply discounted by then.

Game Pass is a fine service as a customer to buy a month or two of in a year and catch up on whatever the big game of the month is an other ones you were minority interested in. Staying subscribed only made sense to me when the conversation rate was super cheap and yet you get ultimate for like $5 a month. It made the weak months in 2022 a bit easier to stomach. Do people actual stay subscribed to the service at full price month to month?

You can get it for like $10 a month with minimal effort. In the last month I played through Indy which was worth more than that by itself in addition to a couple other games that would have cost me 10-20 each. It's actually perfect if you have kids since kids are expensive and kids love playing video games.

Ya if you got kids its a no brainer tbh. Gamepass saves people alot of money and it's a great service for families and for people who have time to game alot.

I’ll buy the games I’m interested for less than a year of gamepass and get to keep them forever
Gamepass could still be worth it if you play a lot. Like if you wanted to play all the games listed in OP it would be cheaper to pay for a year of gamepass + buy all the games vs just buying all those games.

I'm on PC and was a big fan of game pass but i avoid it now but just saying.

Not the most exciting list. But maybe sub for a month every few months and take down a few games is a good deal. Netflix is increasing their prices again this year so watch out gamepassers.

It really is the best deal in gaming (especially when there aren’t many big headline games on the horizon)

They have to be thinking about wholesale putting “gamepass” on all systems and treating it like Netflix to the extent they can.

Blockbuster was amazing. Saw so many movies that were great but I didn’t need to “own”.
Games, too. I rented tons of games at Blockbuster. I never liked buying games at full price only to find out I hated them but couldn't return them. So unless I knew I was going to like it I would rent from Blockbuster first. Makes me glad GameFly is still around.
