A friend of mine said the exact same thing to me earlier today when we were talking about the showcase tomorrow. I have my doubts that will be the case. Microsoft makes some very boneheaded decisions but they don't strike me as the kind of company to make the exact same bad decision in quick succession. Usually they seem to learn from their mistakes if only just in the short term. That first reveal of Series X titles was rough and they were raked over the coals for it. I think they have a much better idea now of what they need to do. Making the show predominantly about Halo Infinite would be running a huge risk right at the start of a new generation. Because if it ain't the kind of game that can make Series X competitive all by itself, and Halo hasn't been that way for a long time, then Microsoft would be setting themselves up for a whole new round of hurt. They're running out of opportunities to win mindshare before launch. This show needs to be really good. Because apparently Sony has another event in August. Microsoft knows this and I don't think they would be so foolish.

Literally the only first party game confirmed for next gen, everything else is brand new and not announced aka tomorrow. I wouldn't worry

They are def going in hard with Halo with this. I mean i know the likes of Forza 8 and Fable havent been officially announced yet, but still, this event seems focused on Halo.
I think the event will be 15-20mins Halo Infinite, 20mins spent on 4 or 5 other games, like Forza, Fable, The Medium, maybe Hellblade 2, then 15mins on 5 or 6 trailers. With a sprinkle of XB1 only games like Grounded and maybe Battletoads.
Microsoft raraely give what people want with their E3 shows, and everyone is wanting 50 AAA games. Its not happening imo. They have said numerous times that they are having events every month up until launch. They will certainly be keeping games back, especially with all the Twitter rumours of Sony holding stuff back for future shows.

Now I see why the camera is fixed in the game. It seems to me that you will use the left analog stick to move in the real world. You will use the right stick to move in the spirit world. It makes sense to make the camera fixed.

You mean at the same time on the same screen?. Dear god i hope thats not true. I think those screens are just showing the same scenes in the different dimensions, i hope thats the case anyway.

It is what is patented. You are to affect the real dimension by what you do in the spirit dimension. The vice versa is also true. Some actions are required in both dimensions at the same time. Split screen is mentioned multiple times through out the document. It is all supposed to happen in real time. I hope it doesn't feel gimicky.

Jesus, its bad enough just looking at the split screens of the game, i cant imagine trying to play it. Hopefully its just select times you have to do that.
Also have you noticed they list the game as 'Xbox One' on that page?, silly Microsoft lol.

I wonder if the new COD is what Heisenberg was hyping up? He said Sony would be coming back both barrels blazing or somwthing like that with an existing franchise running on PS5 hardware. This will be my first Xbox event I'm going to watch. I'm not sure what to expect. I'm not a fan of 1st party exclusives that Xbox has(maybe that will change after seeing the event?) but I'm hoping to see more of third party games coming up.

There's quite a decent amount of hype that's steadily built for this event. Be interesting to see if they deliver. They've had the feedback re: gameplay, they've seen Sony's lacklustre showing so there is no reason to not take lessons from that and put together at least a show that tries something different to finally meet expectations. Geuinely happy that we seem to have two proper rivals again.

Halo is such a special game, what they did to with Hald 4 and Halo 5 was so bad, Infinity needs to go back to Halo 1 roots and not this competitive MP bullshit that we got with H4 and H5.

Because Konami buried the series in some way. I always hoped for more entries to the franchise. I am just a fan of the games.

It would just be a wish to have a proper remake or new game. I know the chances are slim, but it is a well known franchise with a huge name to it. So, who knows.
