Xbox Live Fall 2012 Dashboard Public Beta - Signup Now

I'm not sure if it's related to the beta or that security update but I can't sign in to xbox live from my console. It gives me a "your password or email is wrong" error but the same combination let me log in on the website.
 
same thing happened to me a few days ago. The only way I could fix it was by deleting my gamertag and then recovering it. After that I could log in again.

I get an error 80151000

Sorry, XBOX live profile cannot be dowloaded right now, try again later!

Amazing service.
 
Apparently it's a known issue as it has been reported on the beta update forum. To solve it I did as they suggested :

Clear the cache, delete profile then redownload it.
 
The backend system for LiVE profiles and security suck ass. It looks like some kind of Metro/Outlook system but is so un-intuitive feeling for me.
 
This new update says I'm logged into LIVE but when I go to play online it says I'm not. Then when I go back to the Dash I'm signed in again. Started right after updating.

Slighty off topic but is Xbox.com acting up? Chrome always loads it up then redirects me back to my previous page.

Yeah, their entire service has been a mess lately. I'm experiencing the same issues as well, on both ends.
 
I tried ESPN last night and it was faster than it's ever been. Videos were loading instantly and buffering was a non-factor. It still takes a while to get started but I think the new UI looks a lot better.

Have you tried clearing your system cache, deleting and re-downloading your profile?
Forums mention that as a work around
 
Hoo boy, new update today. Got a hardlock after it was done updating.

No live content is available. Games and Apps still appear to work though.

Ahh so its not just me. Good then.
 
My biggest issue is that everything takes longer than before. It was already pretty slow load stuff up before the beta as it was.

Also, downloads in general are now slower than PSN, which is a concern.

Time to format that HDD. I did that the other week and it made a huge difference. Went from 40-50 secs boot time to less than 15.

I've had the opposite experience. The XBL beta dash seems smoother and less laggy (some apps still seem laggy though). PSN download speeds have always been worse for me than XBL. Are you on Plus?

Decided to time how long it takes to boot to tiles:
1 minutes and 21 seconds.

This can't be normal right? Overall dashboard performance is still terrible for awhile after after booting also.
Also takes ages to go from a game -> dashboard (MW3 to tiles being displayed: 32 seconds).

I'm so sick of seeing those spinning grey lines..

Reformat your hard drive.
 
I think I would rather put up with the performance than worry about redownloading/backing up everything.

Although formatting may fix the random MW3 freezes I get (4 ~3 second freezes in a row).

It isn't the answer you want to hear but it is the truth. I finally bite the bullet last week and reformatted and it completely fixed my dashboard issues and my freezing issue in Halo Reach. I had practically given up on even using my 360 given how awful everything ran but this has made it feel brand new.
 
I'm kinda sorry I went into this beta. Everything works fine in the dashboard for me besides a few hangups here and there, but that's to be expected. It's the fucking updates almost every time I come back to the 360. Not digging it.

THey're every Monday at around the same time each week.
 
The last update I received it keeps asking me for a second email address and other items when logging in.

The updates are weekly and honestly, I wish I never signed up for this beta is been a PITA.

I formatted it not too long ago and it stayed on the spinning circle yesterday for me for 2-3 minutes. I had to turn it off and back on. Formatting helped (when i did it like a month ago) my xbox until i got into this beta. The beta seems like more of a problem than the HDDs themselves. Ive been having problems with the dash loading up when leaving menus and apps to youtube not even working anymore. Still doesnt. This isnt ready for public release at all. I regret even getting it now. Everything was great before. Last beta for me and ive been in all of them.

I've been in the beta since the first day, and the only problems I've experienced were two hard lockups. This is the fastest the dashboard has ever been for me, and my boot up times and login to live are super fast.

Are you sure you deleted the cache, and reformatted your entire drive? As in, deleted everything from it, and had to start from scratch?
 
oh joy new update i havent downloaded yet, right before the RE Demo and JSR come out. should be fun coming home from work to download all of that shit...

yeah it looks a lot better, its still a complete fucking mess of an app though. i have too many issues with it to even begin to list them all.

i hate it so much.

This is hands down the least stable experience I've had in the dashboard betas. So many hard locks and sign in issues. Sometimes the dashboard straight up doesn't load and I get the loading circle, forcing me to use the guide to launch my game as a workaround. I think I'll pass on future betas, should there be one next fall.

I agree. I was in every beta and i never had problems like this. Right now, it tells me ive logged in but nothing loads. Ive tried the "deleting the profile and cache and redownloading the profile" already and the problem just came back the next day. Its been like that for 2 days now. My youtube app keeps telling me that it cant reach youtube and word of warning, dont turn off kinect and think your apps will keep working properly. Netflix wouldnt even launch after i closed kinect and Halo waypoint either. Although you sign in much faster when kinect is disabled, which is weird.

This is probably the last Dashboard update, outside of security updates and fixes, so I wouldn't worry about a next time.

User experience during dashboard betas vary a lot. The previous dash update beta killed my xbox, and the one before broke me for a week. This beta however, has been silky smooth. Fastest dashboard yet.
