Xbox Live question

Hi all,

I just got Xbox Live and have a question. So far I'm only playing Halo 2 and don't see an option where I can have friends over playing split screen in the room with me AND online against others. Is that possible? Or would they have to be Live subscribers themselves and login on my Xbox? Cause unfortunately they're not...

Thanks

Guests can play in any unranked game. So that's custom games, and the Rumble Training and Team Training playlists.

Yeah you can have guests, but they have to be in a unranked game (select the "Training" playlists from Optimatch) if you are doing matchmaking, or you can join a custom game with them.

Another question (sorry): Are all games ranked? So far all I do is go on Live, click Quickmatch, and it finds a game for me. How can I check my ranking?

It depends on what you are playing if it's ranked or unranked.

Rumble Pit = ranked
Team Skirmish = ranked
Head to Head = ranked
Team Slayer = ranked
Big Team Battle = ranked
Minor Clanmatch = ranked
Major Clanmatch = ranked

Team Training = unranked
Rumble Training = unranked
Custom games = unranked

you can see your rank in the lobby (its the number that appears to the right of your name), and you can also see more in-depth stats in Bungie.net ---> http://bungie.net/Stats/Default.aspx (just type your Gamertag in the left side under "Locate Gamertag")

And if you want some even more detailed stats check these (I like this one the best out of all the stat programs floating around because it grabs ALL of your games and not just the last 5-7 days worth):

My stats:

http://home.comcast.net/~dreadnaughts/stats.html

Go to:

http://www.m-williams.org/h2sa/h2sa.php

And download the (.4c is the newest version I believe)

http://www.m-williams.org/h2sa/windows.php

And Perl if you don't have it. (Grab the .msi self-installer)
http://www.activestate.com/Products/Download/Download.plex?id=ActivePerl

Install Perl and then extract the h2sa.zip to the Perl directory (or any directory). Then run the h2sa.pl file and enter your gamertag (whatever the spelling on Bungie is what you need to enter) in. Give it time to download all your games and watch the results. I had about 23 pages of games and it took like an hour but once you do it once it only updates every time after.

Thanks to vviperrx at Bungie.net for writing this.

If you go to optimatch you can select the game type .....anything with training in the tiltle is unranked.

Do you know of anything like that for Mac (OS X) users, Karg?

I'd like to check my full stats like that, but I have no Windows PC :(

The only other programs I've seen will just do your recent 5-7 days of stats. Check this list for some people that submitting Flash programs to dump your RSS feed into.

How many games have you played, or better yet how many pages of games do you have? I might be able to run it from work, but since it downloads ALL of your games the bandwidth usage is noticeable here. So if its not too many I can do it.

If you've got wget (can't remember if it's in osx as standard or not off the top of my head), the linux version will probably work. And if not, it shouldn't be too hard to tweak it so it does (although given that it's perl, it probably depends on how nicely it's written... it could be extremely easy, or practically impossible to figure it all out...)
