Xbox One and Samsung 40in 1080p Smart HDTV for $500 (Best Buy 8/9)

Id totally buy this but I'm still waiting for a Xbone Slim

By time the Slim arrives you could get months if not years out of the system and sell it for close to what you would be paying in this deal. Even year or more from now XB1 will still command near $200.

I've been contemplating picking up a One during the holidays a lot recently. I figured the deals would be there then buy this... Oh god someone stop me. I love my PS4, I don't NEED this but....

I think I have a friend willing to put down $200 for the TV making the console $300 for me. Hard to resist

Honestly, if that's all he's willing to put down, you might as well wait. A $50 discount on a standard Xbox One bundle isn't much of deal compared to what you can potentially get on Black Friday (especially all the games and extra accessories people got last Black Friday). If he did $300, I say do it. Otherwise, wait.

The information I was given by my manager in regards to this deal is that MS is fronting the money to cover the costs of the TV in terms of how this is discounted. Obviously he wasn't there for the inking of any deals between the companies, but he's had the same information regarding when Sony is promoting a special deal. And from our store profit margins, TVs are already low margin items for us, and game consoles are nil in terms of profit. We make our money on the accessories/games, etc.

So yeah. In terms of inventory? It's going to vary drastically by store. Some stores are getting very limited inventory of the tv model leading in, and will hope for a refresh mid-week. Other stores will probably have more aggressive amounts. Half the stores in my district seem to be on the limited stock, the other half on the aggressive. The aggressive stores are the ones which have so far this gen done better for XB1s than elsewhere. I assume these will sell very well. We've already had a few calls about if there is a PS4 version. (temple rub)
Do you have any idea what part of store to go to to get the deal? Because it could be either the TV or gaming division and it would be nice to know which.

Makes me sad that i had to pay for my xb1 when i could've just waited and practically gotten one for free..

This, I spent $500+ tax on launch day lol but I'm moving this November so this very tempting since I'll need new tvs

But I'd have two Xbox ones in my new house lol

Might just buy the tv and sell the Xbox for like $200

Looks like I will be getting a Xbox One way sooner than I thought. I'll try and sell the TV and use that money for a Wii U.

Read the comments and saw that the its a lower end 60hz which is kinda bad for gaming. I mean I really want a 40in or higher HD 1080p Tv but I'd only play it with my 360. I don't want to play it with a new xbone console and having issues with an older model Tv.

Nice to know the deal is real at least and it seems it runs through the week dependent on stock?

Heh, I normally wouldn't comment on upcoming sales, but considering this one was sent out as a press release to all the major outlets, I'm scott free. This sort of thing is usually displayed in the ads released via email/us mail for the week's sales.

No, No.

I work for Best Buy, We have omni channel sales. You can buy from us via phone, in store, or online/mobile.

If a store is out of an item that you want, ask to order it OMS, we can ship to your house or ship to store.

Companies like money
Awesome. Thank you for this information.
Just so I know if I have to ask for it, what does OMS stand for?
My wife needs to go to the TJ Maxx which is next door to Best Buy tomorrow, so I plan on being there when the doors open, but nice to know about this for sure.

I am still a tad skeptical about that refresh rate truth be told, but it is basically like getting a 40" 1080p for $200.

So 60hz tvs are now bad for gaming? LOL

Man this is such a good deal, if I needed either one of these alone I'd snap up this bundle and resell the other.

My Best Buy had no idea what I was talking about when asked about the deal. They couldn't even find an advertisement for it in store or on their website. So I did some searching and spotted at least six TVs on the shelve with the sku listed on CAG, and at least ten Xbox Ones in the gaming section. I'm thinking I'll have a pretty good chance of snagging this deal at opening tomorrow with everything being so hush-hush right now. I just hope I don't have trouble getting them to honor the deal because right now the only source I can find for the deal is Gamespot.

I'm anxious to find out what XBone comes with this deal. I'm just assuming the $349.99 version that comes with Halo MCC, but the kinect bundle would be amazing! Also, Xbox Ones at Best Buy currently come with a free copy of Unity, I wonder if that will apply here...

Edit: I see the gamespot article mentions the $349.99 SKU, still a great deal though!

Edit 2: Unity deals ends today. :/

I'm now actually thinking of snagging this though I already have great TV and XB1 but I'm thinking of using the Samsung as my monitor. Figure I can sell the XBox for $250 and my monitor for at least $100 so I would end paying about $200 for this thing.

Anyone use a huge HDTV as a monitor?

I remember my 26" samsung was almost too big for my dorm room. Where the hell do kids go to school where a 40" tv would be a good fit? I suppose if youre paying $3500 a semester for housing...

Yeah, I'm a little anxious about that too.

I'll still head out tomorrow morning, but not seeing the deal conformed anywhere is a little worrying, but didn't a gaffer a page back or so say that his Best Buy manager sat that they knew about it?

There is a scan of the weekly ad already out there. It's legit. Specific to that one TV sku and the 349.99 Halo bundle.

Really wish there was more on this TV. I've been using an ASUS monitor for so long as my TV / Monitor. Could use a bigger screen but the negatives on this tv really scare me.

Damn, I totally zoned out and was not thinking about the fact that there are now, and have been for quite some time, new One SKU's that do not include Kinect, and it looks like this deal includes the bundle that does not include it.
A very big reason my wife had no issue with me picking up a 2nd One and a TV we really do not need, even though it is a very good deal on both, is I sold her on the fact we would now be able to control the TV in our bedroom with our voices, which she actually does like this feature in our TV room.
Damn.
This just became a tougher sell.

You know what, I'm going to take a risk on the TV. I need a new one for my apartment and even though it may not be nice, it's a good price and is better than the low-end 24" Vizio I have right now

Sending my sister to buy it right when the doors open since I'll be at work :P

Tempted but looks like this is just for the old glossy 500 gb xbone model. I want to upgrade to the 1tb matte finish.

I can't believe how close I am to buying an Xbox One. Backwards compatibility pretty much made it even between PS4 and Xbox, and I haven't seen any good PS4 deals in a while.

I have no desire for an Xbox One ATM and I still want to do this, lol. Assuming that quantities are going to be extremely limited

If anyone is getting this deal but don't need the Xbox and is willing to let it go for around 200, let me know =) NYC area for pickup or I'll pay shipping.

Just realized it's tax free weekend... This is so mine.
EDIT: Now I'm excited for this, Halo MC Collection, Rare Replay, and Sunset Overdrive. :D

Wonder if you will be able to order this online for store pickup? I'd be interested to see what happens if I put that TV and Xbox One in my cart at full price at around midnight for in store pickup and then ask for the deal when I go in tomorrow.
