Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Skate 3 is getting resubmitted for regional certification (ratings boards), just suggests there is some movement on it.

Getting it ready for that Skate 4 pre-order bonus.

I can't buy 360 titles (eg Super Meat Boy) either from console or Xbox.com. I've tried both methods all day, I just get error codes. Something is very broke.

Lego Pirates keeps crashing on me. :\ I know Lego games have their bugs, but this is way beyond that, definitely the emulator. The emulation in general is really janky for this one... I hope it gets updated, but I doubt many people are playing it, so it may get overlooked. :\

Not that it's all that helpful, but my kids have had no issues with it

For some reason it didn't start until around the time I hit the third movie. Since then I've been having full emulator crashes - even the 360 guide won't open, and the Xbox One kind of chugs when I dashboard and quit out. Just had one right now, when transitioning between hub areas.

The best guess I have is that it's Red Hat related (wasn't long after I started unlocking and enabling them that it happened), but I have no real evidence. Pure guesswork.

That said, the game in general has a lot of framerate drops as well as some occasional weird hitches (like, the demo movie that plays if you idle on the Start screen hitches every single time). Maybe it's always like this, I haven't played it on 360 so I can't be sure, but it definitely has worse performance than any other Lego game I've played, including on Xbox One through 360 BC. :\

I'll try to remember to check it out today or tomorrow to see if I have the same issues

Im watching the x games right now and have the sudden urge to play Skate 3 again. And i am no way in hell hooking up my 360. Please god i need this. Mostly Skate 4, but 3 will do.

There's probably going to be a big drop at e3, that's why the long wait.

Exactly right.
We have to remember that getting 360 games on Xbox One requires two things: [1] Microsoft figuring out the tech and [2] publishers giving their consent for each individual title.

I suspect several publishers are waiting for E3 to either announce a title's immediate BC release (with much fanfare) or to include as a pre-order incentive on a franchise's next chapter (with the BC release timed to match).

What I wanna know:
* Will Microsoft offer a huge sale for new BC titles at E3, as they did with the Call of Duty: Black Ops BC launch ($10) in May?
* How many new BC titles will EA immediately bring to its EA Access program?

Is Fight Night something we know they're working on? I assume some deals would have to be reworked if they wanted to sell it again.

That is confirmed?

What others are?
Well, Amazon has a lot of EA digital download codes set to go on sale on June 14th:

Burnout Revenge
Burnout Paradise
Skate 2
Skate 3
Fight Night Round 4
Crysis 3
Dragon Age 2

It's assumed they are making download cards since the games will be made BC, and also assumed they might all also be dumped in EA Access to join the two BC games already in there (Dead Space, PvZ)

Not confirmed, Those Amazon digital codes that stated "works on Xbox one" are up for release on that day. Probably hear something at EA play

Thanks for the info!

Good to hear.

This program (and EA access too) keeps getting better.

I did a consumer survey for EA Access this week and made sure to note I would like to see more BC games in the vault, hopefully it really takes off..... It shows its on their radar.

On a not so good note from the questions asked in the survey you an tell the are seriously considering increasing the subscription fee. I have a feeling it's a matter of "how much" and not "should we"

But that's for a different discussion

I wonder what kind of online community Burnout Revenge would have if it became BC. I remember loving that game on the Xbox.

Wait, it was the Xbox. Shit, I don't think I ever even played the 360 version.

I'm just looking at the soundtrack and remembering how fucking good it is.

Playing Dangerous Golf right now and while I love it, I need my crash mode back.

I'm currently downloading some 360 games to my XB1 but the download process is unbelievable slow. It takes several minutes to download 100MB of DLC.

Anyone else experiencing this as well?

No, seems to go pretty damn fast. Wired connection on 150mbit though.

360 version was really really good.

The only thing I couldn't reconcile was when they changed the splash screens from red to blue text in their first major update :(

Mine is wired to a 500Mbit connection and usually the XB1 achieves 200~250Mb/s on that.

Just tested it with a XB1 game (Zoo Tycoon). And that one is really slow as well. Switched install drives didn't help either (in case one of the drives was dying one me).

According to the netwerk tool it's downloading at 1.4Mb/s :(
100mb is quite big.
Not for me ;)

Edit:

I made a big mistake. The XB1 caps the download speed when you're streaming to a PC. Stopped the stream and the speed instantly shot up to ~225Mb/s.

SSX here I come.

Fight Night round 4 is $70 here in Australia... I'm tempted to buy it, but I reckon it'll end up on games with gold. The same for SSX (though that only cost $20 here).

Maybe not GwG, but EA Access fo sho on both of those. Probably not worth the GwG money for at least 12 months after if they can tempt you into paying them directly every month.

I took the same survey. Of course I tried to select too many BC games.

Oh man I hope Burnout Revenge makes it to BC.

Also hope the downloadable cars are included. I needs my Logitech Indy car!

Dante's Inferno, Brutal Legend and Alice: Madness Returns/American McGee's Alice are all I want from EA. Give me those three as BC titles and I'll be so incredibly happy.

Is there missing DLC on the PC version of Burnout Paradise, or did they just shut the shop early? I can't remember what went on with that.
