Hey someone here might know - asked in other threads and no responses. If I have 2 xbox one consoles and download destiny digital can I play it online on both with someone else at the same time? Say I log in and my wife logs in on the other console? Would I need to buy 2 copies of the game?

I think you would need to play with the home console setting. I haven't done that personally but someone else might know how to do it.

You can both play with one digital copy. You have the purchasing gamertag license and the "home console" license. So you buy the game under your tag, your wife plays it on your "home console" under her tag, you play it on your tag on any other console while logged in.

To add some precision, if you buy the game on your account, your wife can play it if she uses the console that has been chosen as home console for that account. While you can play it on your second console if you're online (which you have to be, for Destiny). *edit : what they said :)*

Yes, it will work fine. You don't need two copies.

You can both play.

See I posed that in the destiny thread 2 times, a few other threads and nothing over the last week. Man if I win the lottery you guys are getting a cut. Small and no promises really but Ill be thinking of you guys.. At least one of you. EDIT: And you other guys too for the details. So if I buy it in the living room then the bedroom can only be played by me it seems along with the living room by both of us.

Thanks though just wanted to make sure and no where else on the net is this explained.

It doesn't matter where you buy it, games are not tied to consoles any more. You just need to buy it with your account. Your home console can play any game you buy even if you are not logged in, while at the same time you can be playing on any other console you are logged in to.

In my case my bedroom Xbox is set as my home console and my girlfriend can play my games there while I'm logged in in the living room playing the same game. She doesn't need Live gold either, it still works.

The Bleacher Report Team Stream app is available now. I use it on my phone and it's really nice.

Also, does anyone know if they're going to stealth release Minecraft tonight like they have other games?

games were never tied to consoles, but to gamertags. It's the same as it always was. You had a home console on 360, where your licenses were. Otherwise, your downloaded games needed you to be logged in to play them.

The only difference now is with Gold - anyone on your home box gets gold, no matter if their tag has it or not.

My guess is it will go up soon, I think they were waiting for the 360 version to be updated for save transfer.

Anyways,

D4 finally got rated by PEGI, so that should be coming soon! Hype.

Haha, the responses deliver as usual!

I'm curious to see if they are sticking with the episodic approach, or decided to just release the game "whole". If you guys remember, we were originally told the game was coming in Feb/March and would be episodic. Wondering why such a large delay and radio silence.

Probably decided to just ship it all at once. Huge delays between episodes would be very bad.

I still can't wait for it though!

Has there been any word on if/when walking dead / wolf among us will be coming to this gen?

Great news on D4. Hopefully we'll see more at TGS.

Lots of sites have Walking Dead Season 1 and season 2 (separately packed) as releasing October 14. Not sure if that's legit or not though

I don't believe that's true. That's why you needed to be able to transfer licenses from one console to another.

When you purchase content, you receive a license to use that content. The license has two parts: the system license and the local license. The system license applies to the gamertag that purchases the content, and the local license applies to the console where you first downloaded the content.

For example I have DLC for Rock Band that I downloaded on a different console than the one I have now and I can't play those songs unless I'm online. Any songs I purchased on my current console I can't play without being connected to Live because they are licensed to that physical console.

With the Xbox One it works differently, all purchases are tied to your gamer tag only.

You will get a device license and a user license to every game you download from the Services. You can designate one console as your “Home” console and multiple users can select the same console for their Home console. The device license will automatically attach to your Home console, even if it’s not the console you are making the purchase from. As the purchaser of the game, the user license will be associated with your Xbox Live account.

So even though I tend to purchase my games on my living room console my bedroom machine can immediately download all those games even if I'm logged in on that machine and even if that machine isn't connected to the internet. Plus I can easily switch my home console to another machine without having to request a license transfer. I can do this 3 times per 365 days.

Can't you give people you know the room code and they can play with you?

You actually can. Of course that wouldn't make a whole lot of sense because they can't see the questions but I guess you could try streaming it? Would be hard though because of the delay.

They can't see the questions, which is another weird oversight. It's a really fun game that's perfect for local multiplayer, but online would make it a lot more interesting and fill the void when I can't get 3+ more people to play.

Upgrade price works on minecraft.
Edit: Although it's not working for a friend. What were the reqs again? He has two achievements on the 360 version.

Thing to note about minecraft xbo:

View distance is much nicer now, I don't think it's PC max but it's close.

The auto save is near instant now, you see the icon appear for what must be 0.1 of a second and then it's gone, lol.

Frame rate is 60 but there is stutter, spin in a circle and you will see it and it happens with equal spacing between each frame drop.

Until I read the store page I had no idea this version allows 4 player split-screen and 8 players online, much better then 2 player split and 4 online from the 360 ver.

Does he own it on live or as a disc? I don't know how the disc version checks for ownership.

Your quote from the Xbox Live usage says right in the first sentence.

So, it works exactly the same as it did on the 360 except that your Home console is the one that gets the device license regardless of where you do the original purchase.

Right, but you transferred the licenses to whatever console you wanted to be your home one. Same as now. It was just a little more involved and you had to do it on the website. I did it a few times through my 360 career. Still tied to your gamertag on the website and purchase history.

Right and that's a key difference. Yes, you always had 2 licenses but previously the console license was automatically tied to whichever console you downloaded the game on. Now it no longer matters. So it's not the exactly the same.

Yes, you could transfer the license but purchases were tied to whichever console you downloaded the game first on, hence why I said your purchases were tied to a console, which they were, even though it was possible to change it. The new system is better because you can make your purchases on any console.

no, you could change your console license. So, it wasn't tied to the console. It's not now either, with the "Home Console" option in settings. The 360 has the same thing you just have to go to the website and transfer your licenses.

I see you're not understanding what I'm talking about. I understand that you COULD transfer a license, I never said that license was permanently tied to a specific console however the license was always initially tied to the console you downloaded the game on first so a transfer was always required if you didn't download the game on your main console. Now you no longer need to do that since your purchases are not automatically tied to whichever console you used to purchase and download a game.

License transfers were also limited to how many times you could do them. I couldn't, for example, purchase games on my bedroom room 360 and transfer that license to my main console and then the following week buy another game while I'm over at my friend's house and also transfer that license, I would need to wait 4 months.

Surely you can see the difference here?
