Xbox One Launch Thread [Thread being archived 1/1/14]

Didn't get the memo regarding the 14th Amendment
No sir. I have a feeling it could be something truly great.

Me too. The project has been in total secrecy since 2010 - I think it's supposed to be a system seller for the Xbox One. I'm not sure if Microsoft is planning for it to be another "Halo" in its popularity, but Microsoft always seems to come up with a new series that fits that mold - Halo, Gears of War, and I believe Black Tusk Studios' game is the next one.

UI experience looks fucking great, even slicker than the one I tried out a few weeks ago. Where is CBOAT lately?

He popped up in the thread earlier today about Twitch streaming not making it to launch and said that is only the beginning or something...Bish chimed in and said he won't let Cboat say anymore since there is no evidence and it's possible that some of the issues will be fixed before launch. Now we wait.

Yeah...I almost said in my previous post that it could be Halo or Gears level, but I felt that was too bold. But I agree with you.

I am bummed about no Twitch broadcasting at launch, it's by far the best thing about PS4. My guess is that MS will be going into overdrive to roll it out as soon as possible. Can't let Sony hold that one over them for too long.

showing the full Remedy vision, with Sam [Lake] giving a pretty good description of how the game works with some new gameplay footage.

Part of me thinks it has to do with how the Xbox One UI functions with Snap, along with also having the HDMI in for tv. Maybe they want to stream most of the experience but don't have time to code it right so that you can stream everything except TV.

I mention TV because that would be very illegal hehe.

That guy is a clown and the definition of a tool. He should be fired. Trying to paint a negative picture of MS by spreading fud about a console that has always been a work-in-progress...no shit, it all isn't smooth leading up to and even during launch. No need to betray the company writing your paycheck by spreading needless rumors.

It's not like Sony's launch was faultless. They've done great, but have had their own issues. The difference is that there wasn't some Sony insider who liked stroking himself by spreading fud about his own company pre-release.

Hmm link to the thread? Kind of curious about the context of it.

Seconded.

Wonder if that guy that got his a week or so early can get online yet, haha.

anyway, called 1 Walmart today and they had Xbox one games, the other 3 I called all told me they were waiting until Friday -_-. Got FIFA 14, 2k14 and CoD. Plan on trading up for Madden25 and BF4. Probably add DR3 and Ryse from GameStop on launch night. Still on the fence, but that'll be quite the collection from the start.

Performance
Microsoft's most impressive exclusive launch titles are Ryse: Son of Rome, Forza Motorsport 5 and Dead Rising 3, which all run in 1080p at 60 frames per second.

Sigh. That's terrible journalism when you can't even bother to check your facts before posting it to the public.

Yup I saw that, pretty disappointing honestly.. Kind of throws a monkey wrench to the credibility of the reporter.

But Amazon doesn't have a Day One card. Maybe someone can PM it.

The only difference is the Jago skin, no?

Anyway, Gamestop won't be selling a year of live at a discount. I had it mixed up with PS+ for thirty. I can't find the source for Amazon, but I'm pretty sure they will be doing an XBL deal.

I'm surprised he works for MS and that they can't find out who he is. I hope they do, and he gets blacklisted from the industry. Who would ever want to hire someone like that?

I have wondered why the leaks we've been getting leading up to launch is only bad stuff. I guess the circus the builds up around the bad news it is too entertaining to pass up.

Anyway, we're almost at the finish line. I have remained strong in the darkest hours and now I'm ready to rise like a phoenix through the ashes
(sorry)
. It's a launch, everything won't be perfect. We'll all survive and enjoy our new sexy multitasking console that has some pretty great games too.

They will just make some bad information plants. Once they find him they can probably bring some sort of litigation against him. Especially if he is a stock holder.

It's Evan Shamoon, he's super legit. Been around the block, worked for Next Gen, etc. Probably a simple error. It's Rolling Stone, so they have a lot of editors and sub editors etc.

Although in my head their office is like the movie Almost Famous. Complete with swimming pool.

Would also be surprised if he's not at least a lurker.

Damn, I somehow missed that or read things wrong.

Cool!

for example:
Skype: Skype for Xbox One changes the way you keep in touch with friends on your TV. With your Xbox Live Gold membership:
You will get Skype group video calling, currently a Skype Premium experience. No matter where your friends and family are, you can bring up to four of them together on your TV from the comfort of your living room. And, if you use Skype on either a Windows or Mac, you’ll benefit from group video calls when you sign into Skype there too.

http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/e3-marc-whitten

but Rolling Stones says:
It also comes with a voucher for six months of free Skype group video calling.

I agree, while he came across as a nice guy trying to give information, he was talking about a work in progress thing. Did he really get banned? He had years of leaks. However some of the more recent ones may or may not have been true. I took what he said with a grain of salt, but it was crazy when people said they were cancelling their X1 pre-orders cause CBOAT said "whispers of a Kinectless SKU". People took everything he said as fact.

What he did was really unprofessional, theirs a difference between leaking specs and the stuff he was writing a few months ago.
