Way more excited for the Xbox . (Getting a PS4 too)

KI, Forza, Kinect Fitness, Waverace clone, BF4 and I'm set.

The TV, snap, OS and twitter style following seems so cool too.

My fave little touch is the page showing what games people are playing.

Every time I see the commercial for the Xbox One it makes my chest hurt with excitement. I feel like Cartman, and just want to sleep until the midnight launch :p

After seeing tons of PS4 stuff today, I'm really glad I decided to wait for the X1. Not because it's bad, it just doesn't appeal to me personally.

Don't go freezing yourself like he did to skip a few weeks to get a Nintendo Wii! Yes, PS4 also doesn't appeal to me personally as well. I understand lots of people like it, but it just doesn't interest me in any way. X1 on the other hand is pure hype for me.

Did anyone here who preordered from Microsoftstore get charged yet?

I personally didn't get charged yet but others in this thread have.

So, I mostly stay away from Xbox Topics. Partly because I don't have much nice to say, and partly because they all turn toxic so fast. It's really weird, and somehow exciting, to see there's people that are actually excited about the damn thing. Just look at all the avatars I've never seen before !!

All that aside, coming from this guy, I have a question I actually want an answer to.

How is the XB1 going to fit into your life? Games, capabilities, media, how will it slot in when you unbox it?

That hype train is goddamn amazing.

There's been people excited the whole time, trolls just tried to counter the positive energy with their annoying jokes. 720p, 900p, 180, at first it was just fun but got old fast. Also some big Sony trolls would say that anyone who had a positive experience with the system/game were "paid shills".

I've been excited about them since they announced a new Killer Instinct and Panzer Dragoon game, and both looked really well made. I feel that they really care about making great games. As someone who likes a wide variety of games, seeing that their launch has a racing game, zombie game, on-rails shooter, and fighting game is really cool.

The controller is amazing. I had a PS3 most of last gen and got a 360 in early 2013, the controller blew me away. The X1 controller is based off of that. I got mine today and it's a little smaller than I thought but I still really like it, can't wait to use rumble triggers.

I think the OS with Kinect is actually going to be really special and convenient, it is also very futuristic. I like that the system can recognize people and change their control settings instantly, no more interrupting a game to configure settings. I think its great that if someone is stuck in a game they can run internet explorer on the side. Or if you are watching TV and playing a game in between commercial breaks, you can snap TV, etc. I don't personally have a cable box and have never tried XBL gold yet, but depending on how I like the free trial that may change.

Also all my HDMI ports on my TV are taken, so being able to put my 360 into the X1 and ensure I never have to switch cables is really convenient.

To sum everything up, I'm really in it for the games. However, the OS and media capabilities are an amazing bonus to a next gen game system.

I have to admit, I wish I could pick up both consoles this year. It is such a rare occurrence that we get new consoles, I truly enjoy the experience. Assuming they do not brick or anything. Best of luck to the One crowd, hope you have some great gaming.

OT: Nobody know anything about extended warrenty? :(

Some Credit Cards like Chase or Amex will extend the warranty for free by a year.
Also, on Amazon they offer protection plans - Squar Trade I believe.

No pending or posted charges from Amazon for my Day One Console.

so last night shopto emailed me to say my order is packed & waiting for shipment. six more days & then i have a week off work to dig into ryse, dead rising, killer instinct & maybe even crimson dragon.
so hype.
much pumped.

Am I crazy to consider trading in my 360 + 82 games at EB Games Australia to get the Xbox One and everything else I want at launch?

The pro is that I don't see myself playing 360 much after the One comes out and the con is that I'm obviously trading my entire 360 collection.

Thoughts GAF?

Does the xbox have a screenshot shortcut or do i have to use kinect?

I don't believe it has a screenshot function. Seems to be video only at launch.

Would be a nice addition though.

I have to imagine that if you sold it on Ebay or something you would get a better price for what you're selling. That's a shit ton of games. I personally wouldn't be able to give them up. I would just get rid of any of the 360 games you KNOW you aren't going to play anymore. Pay the difference out of pocket.

I'm sort of a game hoarder though. Still have my NES and a bunch of its games from back in the day.

No way you can afford to buy it otherwise?

You'll get pennies for your collection game by game :\

Is this going to have streaming on day one? It's the feature I'm most excited for but I dunno if they've ever specified. I'd try showing Ryse on hard and Dead Rising 3 on hardcore mode if it is.

No dude. Maybe trade the 360 but not your games.

Why so quiet in here compare to the PS4 launch thread?

I have a theory, and that is that one has launched and is full of people talking about their experiences with the console, purchase, etc. The other is kind of a... how you say... "getting ready" thread a week out, not too much to say there.

I dunno, it's a theory. I doubt you'd be so fucking stupid as to not understand that, so it might be something else.

I cancelled my Amazon pre-order today.

But I won a Doritos/Mountain Dew auction tonight!

Might have a wait a few extra weeks, but I saved about $350 on a Dead Rising bundle.

Get Hype!

I'm suddenly feeling more excitement for Xbox One after all the PS4 failures. I still haven't received my PS4 but I cannot help but expect it to be dead out of the box. That's the pessimist talking, I guess.

Hopefully Xbox One will launch without any problems.

So I'm giving my friend my amazon pre order. When will they charge my card so I know when he should give me the money?

Probably Wednesday. I ordered a PS4, and it shipped out on the 13th, so that it could get here on the 15th. I'm guessing they will do the same for Xbox.

Ah, I remember I was just starting 9th grade when the Xbox 360 launched! I had tons of good times with the OG Xbox too, after getting the Gamecube: with Halo and WRPGs in particular, KotR was like crack to a young teenage boy, a big Star Wars adventure?!? Local multiplayer Halo was a highlight of my childhood. I wonder, the N64, my first console, perhaps shaped my tastes as a gamer, some have even drawn comparisons with the N64's Western focus and the Xbox. Hell, MS even bought Rare and some of their IPs that were born on the '64 showed up on Xbox consoles :p One can even see that Microsoft has a similar interest in the "Family friendly" demographic too, similar to Nintendo. I recently fixed up my 360 to play the JRPGs that I was astounded to find were available on it, Final Fantasy XIII was my first Final Fantasy game, for instance. Tales of Vesperia and Eternal Sonata, Lost Odyssey, sometimes whimsical, sometimes deep, I'm glad to have been given access to those games. Whether Viva Pinata, my addiction to Oblivion, Halo 3, those JRPGs, my 360 has been awesome. I'm hoping the library and games made available on the Xbox One will be just as awesome and enticing to me, I'm thankful in particular that I could find Japanese games on the 360 when I went looking for them recently, and when I see Crimson Dragon launching with the One, Swery's game too, Square Enix still providing their support, and perhaps something to look forward to from Microsoft's first party, I think it's unfair to stereotype what "should" or "shouldn't" show up on such and such a console, I believe getting access to a wide variety of games on whatever console, whether made in the East or West, is in the interest of all gamers.

I won't be there day one, I do admit that I will have to budget accordingly before getting the Xbox One, but I will definitely look forward to seeing its library fill out before diving in.

Dammit my hype levels are reaching critical - which is bad because we are still 6 days out

I'm gonna be a wreck the day before

I'm ready to jump in day one. I've been a day one supporter of Xbox for the past two generation's, so I'll be there day one ready for Forza, BF4, Ryse, Madden, KI, and Crimson Dragon. So hyped!

Why isn't Microsoft marketing Xbox Fitness more? Pretty much all my friends that I showed it too thought that was an amazing feature. Not necessarily console seller worthy, but could entice more potential buyers. I know it's anecdotal, but I've heard this from others too.

Any gaffers going to the Xbox one launch is Sydney? Ill be there in the CBD EB games on launch night. Can't wait to pick up forza and BF4. Will also pick up the controller Play n Charge kit with dead rising 3 budnle for $139. Seems like a killer deal.

I'm mostly fishing for people that are excited for the Kinect and other non-game applications. MS wants this thing in your living room. And I know that for me, it wouldn't work. My systems don't go in a living room, they go in my room. The room where all the technology and medium sized TV is. MS wants this box to be more than just videogames, and I wonder how many people are going to use it for more than that.

I'm pretty much in your situation. My PS4 and XB1 will be going into my "office" instead of the living room. But honestly I'm pretty psyched about the new Kinect features and apps. Gaming and entertainment are pretty much an even split these days so my consoles see a lot of HBO Go, Netflix and Xfinity. Two of those aren't available on PS and stuff like Skype will really help me keep in touch with my family who are all a few hours away in all directions and with my buddies. We don't really have the time to hang out much anymore so the XB1 seems like it has a lot of features that would help us stay connected as well as meeting our entertainment needs. GAF shits on it for its specs and that's fine, I completely get it. But in the end I'm just personally more excited for the entirety of what the XB1 will offer.

But yeah, I can't not get both this gen. Too many great games and I'd rather enjoy the strengths of both than miss out.

Same here. It was bearable with a few weeks to go, but now that we are t minus 6 days to go, the hype is palpable especially since I'm really digging the lineup.

Where's the Zoo Tycoon OT? I want to learn more about that game.

Mine is going in my bedroom, live with parents and dont want to use it in our downstairs living room. I'm unsure if Kinect can see me in my current set up but I think it just blasts waves everywhere to read people anyways.
