Nope, smartglass is out too.
Thanks, man how are you doing?
Well, I suppose about as well as you can realistically expect after a major loss in the family, but as I said in another thread, we're all in good spirits and really coming together as a family, trying to make any preparations we need to do a team effort, and the costs are a little steep, but we'll manage because we have to. Anything less than a proper service would be regrettable for everybody involved, so we're really trying to do our best. We had a pretty nice family night last night that, surprisingly, included a family viewing of the latest south park episode lol.
Every bit as important, however, is that we have all re-committed quite seriously to stay in touch as much as possible, both via phone and in person without any long durations in between, because everybody was stunned with the loss of my uncle. He's been there for everybody in this entire family at all major times of need. When you could rely on nobody else, he was always there. This is the guy everybody shared things with, the guy everybody found easy to talk to, the guy everybody everywhere loved to death. He was my uncle, but I never thought of him that way. He was much more like a brother to me. You know the type, the big brother you're happy just to be around or be associated with. Not to get any sappier than I've already been, but my father wasn't around much when I was growing up, and it wasn't really until I heard that I lost my uncle on Tuesday that I realized that the only reason I never missed having a father around in the first place is because I had one the whole time. Lots of awesome memories, so in a lot of ways it's those memories that are keeping everybody in the family strong and together right now. Doing precisely what he did when he was with us. So, again, in really high spirits, thanks for asking.
And, separately, what's been really amazing and totally unexpected during this is how both the Ryse team and Turn 10 have reached out to me regarding the loss in my family, even going so far as to send me copies of each game. I mean, there's just no words for that. It's just really awesome.
