My opinion was always that the source was someone that didn't realize how quickly software tends to come together in the final stretch. It may have been an accurate assessment of the software at the time, but to say it was months away from being ready was naive.

So far the OS is smooth.
FamousMortimer and Thuway specifically said that the party system is now per game and not at the OS level anymore.
Has anyone been in a party and moved around? Does it function like the 360 and is it stable?

Oh ym god, what a right palava at GAME
In Wolverhampton there are 2 GAME stores next to each other, one store Xbox, the other is Sony
Got there at 8.50 to pick up Battlefield 4
Finally get to the front of the queue to go into the store
Get told by the lady on the door that all preorders for actual games have just been moved next door to the Sony store, and theyll bring your game to that store
So go next door
Get to front of the queue
Get told they cant bring anymore BF4s to this store because they were running low...so was told to go queue back up next door
Back of the queue! hurrah!
Finally get into the store
Get seen to, only to be told theres no BF4s left
So, decide to get Need For Speed instead
The new store isnt fully up and running yet so they cant take reward points off the card
So the bloke serving me takes me next door and pushes me to the front of the queue to use reward points there
Bloke starts scanning NFS when i see a copy of BF4 right there on the side
Swapped it over and i now FINALLY have BF4
All in all, 2 hours :lol

No. It's working it just sounds like a pair of small beard trimmers. When I first put the disc in it started with the noise and then got a little louder when installing. With it ready to start it's silent. Guess I'll have to try a Blu-ray movie since I don't have any other games.
First gaffer I've seen in this thread. Though I've not been on in 8 hours. Please no bunk disc drive for me today. Do not want to deal with Amazon.

Those rumble triggers feel great in Forza 5. I was able to play Forza after maybe 5 minutes of installing and downloading a 6GB patch. I guess it's still downloading the patch?! Voice commands in German work flawless. Just say "Xbox" and it's in listening mode with some onscreen help what you could tell you kinect to do.
No I know alot of ppl buying the X1 for KI only atm.
My shipping day was changed from monday to tomorrow

My third launch-day console:
(the other two were Nintendo64 and Playstation2).
Bought it at Saturn, in Alexanderplatz - Berlin.
Everything included in the picture for 600 (including a Burger King voucher for a combo). There weren't many people buying (got there at 11, store opened at 10). Not the same hysteria from launch parties around the world.
There was another option of the Day One console + Dark Knight trilogy blu-ray for 529.
Important
All EA titles were HALF THE PRICE (34,99) of other launch titles (69,99). (exception for Fifa and Madden).

Actually having fun with Ryse. Crazy repetitive (especially enemies, begun the clone wars have) but boy is it pretty. Forza is still installing, but looks nice and plays like Forza.
Snapping is pretty slow at times. Hopefully they will speed it up with firmware.

The eagle has landed and I nearly shit myself when I couldn't turn it on. Didn't realise you had to hold the button in.

How to close snap with voice?
Xbox unsnap.
The German unsnap command sounds like the snap command (andocken und abdocken)... Other than that it's working like a charm.
Btw: you can change the region of your console as often you want. Simply go to settings and system. You have to restart the console though.

Yeah, I did it last night through the HDMI input, however, there is a noticeable lag using the mouse and whatnot but that would not be a problem playing videos.
So I bought Forza and Dead Rising
I have pressed install disc on both, a progress screen appeared, I went to "My Games & Apps" and for the life of me I now have no idea where I am supposed to see progress for either game?
I had Killer Instinct downloading, that will not resume now. I basically have no idea what is going on. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I am in Berlin but I don't speak German and I'd like to know if you change the dashboard to English, the game voice over and menus are translated as well..

Day one update was very fast, pretty pleased. Using the UI it loaded my pins, Kinect recognises voice even when sort of mumbling to scan QR codes which works as expected but is pretty cool.
Its a shame EA didn't bother putting QR codes on their game content things but EA gonna EA. MS need to make that stuff mandatory.
System is biig but nice.
Only thing I'm not sure about is why you can't install a disc game and download as well, Forza can be played at 13%, put Zoo Tycoon in as its very small and it stopped Forza.

Oh, I have to say Xbox unsnap. Unsap alone doesn't do it. Voice stuff is great.
Wonder how many fake 1 star reviews are gonna show up for the Xbox. There is about 40 right now for the day one system and I don't think a single one is a verified purchase. I knew people were gonna do that though. lol
