I don't think you quite understand that this was the point of having TV go through your Xbox.
So you always have immediate access to your other entertainment choices. As easy as calling out for them.
They are on sale was in the ad this week. TRU is doing promo's as well buy 2 get a $15 dollar giftcard. Buy 3 get $50.

You can get the Day One edition at amazon.de or at Saturn at AlexanderPlatz (I don't know where you're from).
I have an Amazon pre-order that will arrive on monday, of the Fifa Day One. I tried to cancel but it seems I'll have to receive it first, now.. If you want, I can keep it to you for the same price (499).

For anyone interested here is what happened.
About a month ago I traded in around 100 PS3 games to CEX (I know, I know I shouldn't trade games in as they give you basically nothing for them) They offered me £330 in cash or £460 in store credit, I was pretty adamantly going to take the cash but the guy managed to persuade me that the store would be getting Xbox Ones in at launch at retail price and that he would put my name down for one.
With that assurance I cancelled my long standing (Mid Feb!) preorder from Shopto, he tells me he will phone me on the 15th to confirm when my Xbox One will be coming in. I wait all day, no call. I go in to see him and he apologizes telling me he will phone me on the 20th. 20th rolls around, still no call so I go in again. At this point he tells me he's not sure how many Xbox Ones they are getting in but that I'm still first on the list so it'll be fine and that he'll call me on the 21st.
Prizes to those of you who guess he didn't call me on the 21st again! So I go in again on my way home from work, at which point he reveals that he might not be getting any in! and even then they are asking for £530 for them! But it's ok, because he expects that price to go down on the day the console is actually out and that he will text or ring me today on the 22nd to let me know if I have a console by 11am.
... It's 1:20pm at the moment and it seems I'm stuck with no Xbox One and £460 in credit at CEX when I'd rather have either an Xbox One today or the cash.
Anyway, wanted to get that off my chest, hope everyone is enjoying their Xbox Ones!

It's a stagged pic though, can't put my Xbone where it is in the pic till a Kinect extension cable comes out.
Also anyone notice the fan in the power brick is not shutting off when the console shuts off? Is it based on temp? I hope they don't intend for it to run 24/7

Getting one of these for walkin seems super easy. My local target had 3 people outside at opening.
They got 8 consoles.
Everything around me seems in stock. At least where I live demand is not super high. Bodes well for people who did not preorder

Do you have to pay a subscription fee for XBox Music if you if youre already a Gold member? I was browsing its app and it said there's a 30 day free trail then it renewals for payment once the trial is over. But I don't wanna even touch it if Gold doesn't give it to me for free totally,all year around. So...is it REALLY free with Gold,or do you have to pay a fee on top of that too? Thanks.

Friend invites are fine but there are no notifications for when friends come online. This sucks.
Parties are fine, but you seem to have to "join party chat" once you've joined the party. Every single time.
Achievements are great, but it's not as easy to navigate to see what you've just unlocked and what else there is to unlock as the 360 was. Probably just a case of getting used to it.
Ironically, the new SmartGlass app is a much better way of checking achievements and checking your friends list...

god, it is so wonderful. unfortunately my internet connection is seriously crappy so all the updates & killer instinct downloads are taking a while but sigh. it will be glorious!
my favourite feature so far is the "xbox use a code". it is just SO fast, love it. in fact i was a bit miffed to find the day one xbox live doesn't have a qr code. kinda' strange.
oh & just to be sure, there isn't a download progress screen anywhere is there?

Checked in John Lewis, Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, Morrison, Game and HMV and not a single one had a free sale X1 in stock.
Best I could get was Game possibly selling pre-ordered stock that isn't picked up by Monday, but that's a long shot as they had almost everyone already pick up their entire pre-ordered console.

Probably a hard drive bandwidth limit. You can only write so much data into a hard drive at any given time and doing two simultaneous installs probably hits that limit.

I've not used mine to play yet just held it (at work) and I agree, it's amazing.
Will stream my music eventually. Kinect is nice so far,getting the speach stuff down, learning the menus and settings,nice and slick set up. Installing Forza at this minute. Takes a long time next to the 360 days though. But then these are BRs,lots more data now. I'm guessing most games take between 30-45 minutes?

Just created and uploaded a clip. I don't see it on my SkyDrive(yes I selected that option) and when I played the clip on the console it was choppy as hell. I see other people's clips look fine. Anyone else have any issues with this stuff?

not sure if this deserves its own thread but how fucked is the party system
You have to create a party that corresponds to the game you are playing so some of your freinds cant join because they are not playing
me and some friend spent about 20 mins trying to get a private forza lobby going and just gave up...the system is completely fucked
you cant just simply invite to game like you could on the 360 (unless im missing something) and when one player puts in another game while others are playing the party game one or 2 people get kicked
its like they thought of a way to make playing with your friends even more complicated...the 360 method worked great...the one is just broken atm and god damn annoying

Yeah I got it wrong, thought it was around $15 a month (Perhaps it was with Zune?)
For what it is it's a bargain, can't expect that kinda service to go for $60 a year and free with GOLD as well.
Spotify is a much better service with a much better collection and it costs the same price
Got my system last night with Dead Rising and Forza but have only played it for about 5 minutes so far (setup).
Thoughts so far:
The new controller is nice but I'm not sure I like it as much as the 360 or PS4 controllers. The sticks are nice and I think the triggers are an improvment, but the Bumpers feel very cheap and clicky and the face buttons feel a little off to me as well. Overall still a very good controller though.
The only other downside is how much room it takes up. The box itself isnt really that big but it still has a power brick that is pretty large. I also had no idea the kinect sensor was as big as it is.
Overall I like it so far though. The kinect features seem pretty useful and I'm looking forward to trying more of Dead Rising and Forza tonight.

I didn't preorder the Xbox and I tried three GameStop stores around 5PM yesterday but was late getting a ticket. Last one I tried was in my local mall, got denied and suddenly remembered that I heard about a Microsoft Store kiosk or something was going to open at the mall. Went to check it out, saw that they had demo units set up and realized there was a line forming around the corner. They didn't take any preorders there so I was lucky. #19 in line, got a Day One Edition and didn't even have to wait that long. They handed out tickets and allowed us to come back later.
you can't have a party where everyone is doing their own thing? is that right?

Hope everyone is enjoying their new consoles. Just playing some Resogun/Netflix while the Xbox One downloads and installs all of my games. Really love the Xbox UI so far. Can't wait until everything is ready to go in the morning!
I really wouldn't be upset if GAME go bankrupt, even though they pretty much are the final UK gaming retailer.
Such a scummy company.
