Sounds a bit buggy, took me no more than 30 mins.
Sometimes I have to press the home button a few times to register it.
Do you have a slow internet connection? Unplug and you should be able to play faster.

I feel like the only appealing games for the XB1 are the ones that are free (i.e. Killer Instinct, Kinect Sports Rivals Preseason).

I really don't know what disk-available game to buy.
I'm not into Forza because I drive 3-4 hours a day for work.
Never got into Dead Rising.
Ryse looks great, but I don't know about the gameplay.

Any word on when D4 is supposed to drop? I thought for some reason it was a launch game. Considering getting an XBONE for Crimson Dragon and D4 alone (at some point). I've got my PS4 right now, but other than Knack and Resogun, the library is pretty snooze-town for me. I just listened to some of the OST from CD and I feel so energized and pumped about everything (lol!). These two games are definitely not going anywhere, right? I'm mainly looking to get an XBONE for those rare, unique Japanese developed games that always find their way to Microsoft's machine somehow.

Dead Rising is a ton of fun, if you have an X1 I'd say it's worth it to give it a try. Assassins Creed is also fun. Other than that I don't think there are any other games out that you haven't mentioned already.

I forgot to mention that I haven't tried Zoo Tycoon or the Xbox Fitness stuff but based on the Giant Bomb live stream both of those look surprisingly good.

I just don't know.
GAF argues about DS4 superiority and how the XB1 controller is inferior, but I don't understand why people hold their controllers in weird positions.

Really really enjoying Dead Rising 3. The changes from 1&2 suit my playing style. The more you play, the more you start to feel its "next-gen-ness", that this couldn't be done last gen.
I'm sort of enjoying FIFA, never tried one before, it's bloody complicated for a newcomer. The graphics are nothing to write home about but it's incredibly crisp at 1080p, some rare exceptions aside it's also jaggy-free, which I didn't expect to see.

The One seems to download any patches first then actually start installing (and moving the % meter).. which is pretty dumb from a usability perspective.

I haven't opened mine yet either. I was on the fence about getting a PS4 but I got one. I like it so much that I am a bit torn between keeping the XO.
I also have a Wii U and a 3DS so I am playing Mario 3D World and the new Legend of Zelda. On top of that, I have Tearaway waiting on me. I just don't. I know that I am going to have an XO pretty soon, so why am I hesitating? It's not a money thing and my wife is on the verge of taking the receipt from me. She's been scolding me about taking the dam thing out of the box or she will a hide it so I cannot take it back.
I can tell you that if you plan on getting one soon, just keep it. I am not going to use the TV functions on the system, as I don't watch TV, but I think it's a good package.

This. I would say Ryse, but some people don't like it. Definitely go to walmart though if you have one near by.

Take it back for now, Wait 6 months if your happy with PS4. I own both and feel the OS is really buggy right now with friends and parties not working for me, also had the box somehow not recognize the disk when it was in the drive weird stuff. Plus, comparing Cod on both platforms no question PS4 looks better for multiplats.
Exclusives like Forza and DR3 are the reason to keep it though!

Really? I've got $44 space bucks and was considering NFS or the Golf game, but if Ryse is worth it, I might have to go for it. Wish they all had demos to play.

Definitely this! Very good price for launch games. Last gen I'm pretty sure there weren't any sales that quick.
Tip for people who miss seeing friend activity by hitting Xbox Guide Button:
Say, "Xbox Snap Activity"....
Not a complete solution but the info it gives you is similar obviously.

Also, whenever and wherever I snap, it goes to Killer Instinct and I can't get out of KI without losing snap .... is that a bug?
I'll be in settings, say snap, and it'll take me to KI and add Snap for instance.

Can't say anything for Need for Speed except that loads of people I have read talk about it as loving it.
I have got both Ryse and Powerstar Golf though. Loving Ryse, I think its great, 28% through the story trying not to rush it, really like but played co-op mode with a friend for like 3/4 hours over the last two day.
Powerstar Golf is good as well, surprising amount of depth, got a Fifa Ultimate Team style thing with boosters, perks, abilities etc, seems to have a decent amount of courses too.

Cool, thanks. Is there matchmaking for the coop stuff? I don't have any friends who are picking this up, but would definitely like to play some coop.
To be fair, I'm rather biased. I love Tycoon games in general. It might not be as fun for everyone else. Still, if you like the previous games in the series, I think the new one is even better than Zoo Tycoon 2. It's not as good as Zoo Tycoon 2 + Expansions, but I'm hoping more stuff will be released via DLC packs. It might not sell well enough for that, though.

Yeh there is matchmaking. Also a solo mode if you wanted to play it by yourself.
