Any word yet on if there will be a USB stick option for the Day One firmware update?

Does the system ship with 30 days of GOLD for free? Would be nice if they offered the equivalent of Sony's PSPlus offer.

Originally seemed to be the case, but now PS4 version got moved off again and they said it'll be the same as the XBO and PC versions.

yes, i suspect at least two years. But that's fine, I waited that long to get a PS3, and this time Microsoft is in the same foot Sony was for me last gen. Lessons must be learned.

Anyway, moving on since no reason to discuss my purchase habits if I ain't getting one at launch, there's so many games I can't wait to play when I do get one. So it'll be like a gaming avalanche of goodness.

I know MS said stated directly several times that the controller had a cable that switch it to wired when you plugged it in, so they could essentially have a wired and wireless controller in one.

Maybe you need to the plug and charge kit to make it "wired". (Just ordered one from Amazon myself)

I just went by a Microsoft store and they have the Xbox with Forza, the Box is fucking humongous Good Lord, Kinnect is also massive.

They had Forza on a Big ass 60inch screen and HOLY SHIT THE GAME LOOKS INCREDIBLE!!!! , I haven't had the Next Gen feel in years. If it wasn't for the Jaggies, I would had though it was a video.

Also I grabbed the controller on Gamestop and it looks and feels good in person. I wish I had played something but the line for Forza as a little long.

Saving this page for the future guaranteed thread. The system already requires Kinect for nothing thanks to the 180s, so if Microsoft lags behind the competition, they will do the smart business decision. They don't care how many gamers wish it otherwise

A few months ago? Don't you mean constantly? Ha!

Hopefully MS is aggressive with lowering the price this time, but I don't see Kinect coming out of the box ever. The components of the camera can't cost them that much, but the software and R&D go to waste if it is not included.

It depends on how the console performs Q1/Q2 next year when there won't be heavy supply constraints and the games will dictate console purchases, not launch hype. If they are really struggling to sell consoles for the first half of next year I could see a price drop in Q3 or Q4 of next year.

But if they aren't struggling to sell consoles then they would have no reason to drop the price yet. Besides, Titanfall is coming out at a decisive time and that thing is going to move consoles like mad. Earliest is next fall IMO.

removing kinect will happen only if the Xbox one bombs. As for a 200$ drop good luck with that. Ms doesn't do price drops. They will probably bundle stuff rather than drop the price.

They don't need to think about 'what gamers wish' it's what they want. They'll simply drop the price in tandem, this is an all in one entertainment box the TV is a big part of it. It's useless without Kinect.

Like I said, wishful thinking. The price will get to $299 with Kinect and then you can buy one

Amirox has been irrationally trashing kinect since its beginning, back to the time when he was still a mod.
When you see all the features of the One that use kinect, it makes absolutely no sense to remove it from the package. You would lose the "xbox on" feature, the face recognition to display user specific content, the instant commands for snap or record, the channel program/selection, voice search, ... most of the things that make the console special.

Except you can't use the system without the blu-ray drive. Since the 180s, you can literally throw your Kinect in the garbage the second you get your XBO and not have a care in the world.

A price cut alongside Halo would sell a huge amount of consoles. Any problems theyre having if any would be fixed. I don't think they'll need to mind, Titanfall and Halo should be enough to sustain console sales without a pricecut.

Honestly though, what are you changing in the grand scheme of things? What is your one little vote doing to Microsoft?

Just buy it and have fun if you're interested in it, and if money's not an issue. Life's too short to be worrying about your one little tick on history. You not buying the Xbox One is insignificant and only impacts you missing great games, but whatever.. your life.

While that is true, it's a part of the console, much like the controller and optical drive. That's what I was getting at. I get that you're not a fan of it, that's fine. I'm not getting into a debate over that.

Yes, infinite worlds and mod support. Heard they are working on allowing transfer of 360 saves/world's into the XB1 version.

Man, see that's exactly what worries me. MS has a good, strong launch but then, everything else seems pretty barren. Titanfall in spring, Halo in late 2014, there's not much else outside of that which is crazy. Any release date on Sunset Overdrive? This is probably the best evidence that launch is far from everything.

I tend to buy my Xbox hardware with Halo, and I'll probably do the same again this time round. The only problem is, I'm not sure how well the XBO will lend itself to special edition consoles .

My Halo Reach 360 was sexy as hell, I hope they can do something like that.
