You can have them send you text messages when a deal goes up. Lot of bundles popping up lately. I'm talking ~$600 or ~$700 worth. $500 console by itself is pretty rare. Some preorders will pop up before Thursday midnight. And on Friday morning you're going to get a small wave of new places to order online from if you don't feel comfortable trying your luck at retail on Thursday night or Friday morning.

Agreed. Something I wish the DS4 sticks had. The X1 controller just feels like a more expensive controller in my hands imo.

The bottom part of the DS4 has a textured back(?), and it is a very nice touch. Very nice.

I'm really excited to try it out. I remember going from the black 360 thumbpads to the ones on this silver controller and it feeling like a world of difference.

I think there were internal demos of games being streamed to phones or tablets (I think it was Halo4). But the main problem would be the controls, without sticks nor buttons remote play would be very uncomfortable.

Try Meijer, they had lots of PS4 in my area and not many people at midnight. You can also try Wallmarts at midnight as well.

Before you go anywhere grab the phone and call Meijer and Wallmart stores in your area and ask how many they have in stock so you don't waste your time waiting in line.

If I remember correctly, Day One was a pre-order, but I could be mistaken.

My local Best Buy STILL has plenty of PS4 stock to go through. Perhaps it will be the same for the Xbox One.

My suggestion would be to drive by your store of choice and check it out, see if a line has formed... and if it has, politely ask those in line if they have it pre-ordered or they're hoping to get one. If they're pre-orders, you have time, check back later. But if it's the latter, I'd park it. Wait it out.

My store got our initial shipment of XB1's and they were all green box, assuming the rest will be Day 1. So if you don't get it during launch you will probably not get a day 1.

although HDCP is a cruel mistress, the function is in some ways provider agnostic and supports a huge range of STBs. Remember I am talking about US stuff for the most part and carefully repeating things Albert and Larry and Yusuf have already confirmed, but. Hardware "codes" and guide information are kind of easy, solvable and separate components.

it may sound complicated but really it's actually a reflection of how capable and flexible it is.

Has anyone else had their Xbox One ship?

I got an email from the Microsoft Store at 6am EST this morning saying mine had shipped, but it didn't say shipping time and the UPS tracking number they gave me doesn't work on UPS's site yet.

Dunno if this matters, but I had to change my shipping address last month after I moved and it was a huge hassle. Had to end up calling the Microsoft Store and then had my matter escalated before they could change the address. They ended up canceling my Day One Preorder and giving me a new Day One Preorder with the title line "Xbox One Day One Edition - CSS Escalations Only," which is one possible explanation for why mine has shipped if no one else's has.

Or maybe Microsoft Store is doing slow shipping so I still won't get it until Friday -- anyone else?
