Xbox One- what would it take to get YOU to buy one ?

Sony don't know how much of a winner Uncharted is for them, if it wasn't for Naughty Dog I'd probably be buying that Sunset Overdrive bundle.
But I just cant spend my only console money on the console without the gods.

So it would take Microsoft buying Naugthy Dog and their IPs.

Damn, I've always wanted to play a Halo game at launch, but not more than I want to play Naughty Dog games.
Gears of War looks like a cool series too.

299 including kinect
sunday ticket included for one year
transfer 360 DD games over

NeitherPS4 nor XBone library interests me at this point. After buying too many xbla games last gen only to see them not survive the generational transition, i am loathe to jump back in. Went from owning all 3 consoles to owning none, but eventually i'll get a Wii U I think. I have a great pc to fill the void and a 3ds.

Nothing up till this point. I might reconsider if Gears and Halo look compelling. But, honestly the console is multiplat city; there's Steam for that.

I'll wait for a $349 slim, as well as some actual exclusives. I'm just hoping the Halo collection comes to PC so I can play it. Not interested in much Microsoft has to offer, PS4 and Wii U are doing just fine for me

Let me bold more marketing so that I present myself more as a shill! Go get your XBOX ONE today!

I'm just excited to play Sunset Overdrive and it just happens to be on the Xbox One, so I made it bold... Is that Ok? *hands in the air* It's all innocent. DAMN. First videogame I really wanted to play in years and I catch hell for showing excitement.

You have forgotten. This saddens me.

I'm all for holding a grudge if that's what you want to do but "Never Forget" has some pretty strong implications. Perhaps that's the joke though, I can't tell with this thread anymore.

I really don't think there's a need for these kind of posts, some people on this board get excited for these kind of things. Just check out any press conference thread when a new colored version of a console is released.

Honestly after taking in everything that was shown at Gamescom I can only see Halo MCC + Halo 5 as a reason to purchase a Xbone.

I currently have a PS4 and every exclusive Xbone is getting the PS4 has one that I think is better and satisfies my urges for that game type/style.

This is not me bashing Xbone but the PS4 just fits my needs better.

inFamous SS is my Sunset Overdrive
DriveClub is my Forza
Multiplats are better on PS4 if I am not mistaken
The Order looks like a less interesting version of Quantum Break but that doesn't push me over the edge.
PS4 exclusives I care about

I would truly buy a Xbone for a MCC bundle but until then I think I will hold off. I feel as if I would be getting a Xbone for one game (MCC) and the hope of a release date for Quantum Break. That's a big investment. Plus I want to know if I can use my B&O earphones with my controller like I do for the DS4 (audio and mic). I am more likely to get one now if the bundle drop but Microsoft isn't doing a lot to attract PS4 users (and that is more than likely not their goal anyway).

The Xbox One is a really hard sell for me atm. I already have too much to play on other systems (pc/wiiu/ps4/3ds), and there aren't enough exclusives that interest me atm. Sunset Overdrive looks really fun, but that's about it. My interest in Halo has waned a bit after 4.

It is tongue in cheek with little meaning. A lot of gamers forget the way companies poison the water so to speak. Clearly, MS was not thinking of consumer rights and choice with a lot of their reveal "features". I see many vocal gamers who say they won't support a company, but then once something new and shiny comes out, there goes the money. Companies won't learn if their bad behaviors are rewarded.

That being said MS has done enough 180's to be at parity with the PS4, which makes the xbone enticing. I still won't purchase one though, as I want to stand behind my decision to not support such practices MS pulled throughout the reveal and launch.

Not Tomb Raider that's for sure. I would have played it, but I don't need it. The only announced game that would have made me buy a Xbox One is Destiny, but luckily I don't have to do that.

Although on the other hand, if Destiny was XB1 exclusive I wouldn't have played the beta so I wouldn't know what I was missing. But that's besides the point. Right now Destiny is the only game that would have made me buy one.

If we're talking about unnanounced games then maybe the next Elder Scrolls. But if that were the case I might just buy a better PC and play it there. There aren't any Microsoft published games that I really want that badly.

There are some exclusives that I would play like Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break, but I don't need them.

If GTA 6 was exclusive then I'd probably cave.

"Hideki Kamiya"

Once they said those words at E3 I was considering it. I'm not opposed to the idea of having multiple consoles or getting one for just a handful of games. I did that when I got my Vita and Wii U. I might actually end up getting one before I get a PS4, if Sunset Overdrive turns out nicely. I'm going to be holding out to see if the PS4 gets an FFXV limited edition, which is actually the primary reason I haven't picked one up already.

Exclusive Elder Scrolls 6
Exclusive Knights of the Old Republic 3
Exclusive Shenmue 3

I'm still on the fence. All my adult working friends with kids, like myself, have XB1. I always switch back and forth with which console I want to go with this gen.

Love PS4 but all my friends are on XB1....decisions.

That should be the easiest decision you ever have to make...

It has the two most fair and balanced console shooters IMO, which are Halo and Gears. That's why I'm going to get it. I realize both games do not have their original developers though.

I know, I'd hate to be the guy who can't play with his buddies but Id also hate to miss Uncharted, No Mans Sky, etc.

I'm not going to do what I did last gen with 360 and PS3 where they traded which one sat in the closet collecting dust, sometimes for a year..just not enough gaming time for both this gen.

Just a few really great unique games that I personally feel like I'll need and a price to blind me to the fact that I really don't need more games at all!

Same goes for PS4, of which I don't currently want one either. (actually, probably less so currently). As is, I've honestly never been less compelled to buy hardware than I have with these two new boxes.

I'd need:

All apps to be free for all users.
Microsoft services integration
Voice chat free for all users.
A $100-$150 price drop at least.
A discounted windows phone would help but not be a necessity.
Free bing perks because why not?
Surface 3 integration
One free game and monthly discounts on games for all users.

In other words, Microsoft has a metric shit ton of work to do before I buy an XOne.

I love my XB1. Its just a great console. For all the crap it seems to get at the end of the day its my favorite console thus far this Gen (I don't have a Wii U). The fact that its getting Phantom Dust os just crazy too. I played the shit out of that game and I'm so eager to play again and kick some esper ass.

I more or less want one and can afford it. Have a ps4 and love it.

No real desire at the moment.

Another price cut or free live gold for a year, new halo and new tomb raider I guess.

If I didn't own one than a competent Halo, which is a given from the looks of MCC. Throw in Forza, Sunset OD, QB, and now Tomb Raider and it's a done deal.

White Xbox One is really pretty but I don't give two shits about Sunset Overydrive. Will hold out for a White Forza Horizon 2 bundle, but I'm a little off-put about the no story in FH2 :/

Well...you need positive AND negative reinforcement. I mean, you don't abandon your puppy after he shits on the floor the very first time.

Money-hatting Tomb Raider definitely is a sign that MS surely hasn't learned very much though.

So, acknowledging the situation with the TR deal, I'm gonna simply repeat my main problem with the xbox: You don't need to own studios to make great games, argues Xbox One boss. To which I reply, yes you do ! There's a difference between building games / investing in gaming for the long run and just making temporary deals whenever it suits you, often at the cost of a game's success. MS has abused the term exclusive to the point we always expect a lot of fine printing and if I may pitch an idea, when it comes to "true" exclusives we might as well refer to them as proprietary software.

Tomb Raider 2 is exclusive, BloodBorne is proprietary.

To answer the OP more clearly, I think I have a fundamental problem with the MS xbox division's mentality.

Funny how my reasoning for Xbone is almost the exact opposite to yours.
Not shitting on PS4, marvelous machine and i will get one....eventually.

inFamous shits on Sunset for me, so that really is no contest till i get to demo SO, but atleast SO has MP which may or may not be fun so for now inFamous holds it, but ive already played it and i dont really want to go back to it as such i see no reason to buy a PS4

Forza 5 has been my racing game since launch, and now we are getting Forza Horizon which looks like a much stronger all round game than DriveClub. DriveClub seems to compete more with something like Grid, circuit to circuit racing, with little else more to talk about.
I dont know what DriveClubs selling point is vs something like Forza Horizon or even The Club?

The Order....its very hard for me to gauge this one, i dont why it hasnt hooked me...it seems to be missing some ummph.....seems like it might be the Ryse of PS4, amazing looking, just enough to keep one satisfied, but not much more. Maybe someone can sell me The Order better than the trailers have tried so far.

Xbone then has more going for it as follows:
Quantum Break - Looks intruiging and seems to have gunplay relatively similar to Alan Wake, with a unique mechanic that will definetly make it stand out from the crowd of Third person shooter/adventure games.

Rise of Tomb Raider - Timed exclusive i know, but we dont even know how long the exclusive period is....i like Tomb Raider 2013, so im looking forward to this one, knowing the devs will have taken some of the critics gamers had of Tomb Raider.

Halo - I dont think this needs much explanation, ill just say Halo and leave it at that.

Smite - Again only timed exclusive, but fuck when you need your fix you need it ASAP.

SuperHot - I should probably put this all under one bullet point.

Xbox Media Player App - mkv support, heck more formats than Xbox 360?....in less than a year we already got this....and DLNA coming soon?

Preorder/preloading - As a person living in Australia.....FUCK YEAH!

General OS improvements....monthly - Every month some improvement happens to the OS. Cant hate MS for constantly trying to improve the OS with the preview program, they are getting direct feedback from users.

Some of these things are laughable.....a 299 Xbox One this early? Come on son.
Id agree with you if you said discounted XBLG, but i honestly dont know any nextgen console owner without XBLG or PS+.

P.S XBLG users get free and discounted games monthly.

Surface 3 integration

Just out of curiosity, what kind of specific integration are you expecting ? They already have Smartglass running on most platforms (including Surface of course), and it's constantly evolving (they just announced the ability to stream TV to it in a future update)

Some people are just used to the Xbox ecosystem/features and menus and stuff. My friend loved The Last of Us, but hated the PS4 and eventually traded it in for a Xb1. Which means it looks like most of my gaming will be played on a Xb1.

I kept my PS4, so maybe I will have to play with Gaf for multiplayer exclusives on it.

After Gamescom, I don't think they can get me to buy one, the only game they have that I want to play is Sunset Overdrive. And the $25 it will cost me to rent the system and the game from the shop down the street is a lot more reasonable. If someone gave me one, I'd sell it and buy more games for the systems I own. I'm not salty about anything, simply not interested.

I preordered the Sunset OD/White Xbone on Amazon. Great looking console and I don't want to skip out on Halo too.

My multiplats are still going on the PS4 though.
