Xbox One- what would it take to get YOU to buy one ?

Forza Horizon 2, Quantum Break and Dark Dreams Don't Die. After the potential Gamescom price drop, I plan on putting down a preorder for the Firfza bundle.

Already bought one at launch but won't have it much longer. Another Bungie made Halo and/or another Epic made Gears could easily change that scenario though.

Neither of these things will happen of course, so I think I'll still be selling my XB1 next month as planned.

Banjo-Threeie. This game would be sufficient for me to immediately buy an Xbone, at whatever price the console has then.

It's too late now: I've already purchased my PS4, and I'm a one console per generation sort of guy.

Honestly I think the only thing they could have done to give the Xbone a chance of beating the PS4 would have been to drop the price low enough that it seemed like a good deal to people who are aware that it's a weaker console.

sell it to me! 300$ cash son!

Simple, to buy another £350+ console there would need to be 10-12 exclusive games that I really want to play for me to justify the purchase.

Whilst there are exclusive games that I would have bought had I chosen a bone over a PS4 there are currently none that I am that bothered about. However, there appears to be a few in the pipeline so maybe holidays 2015 is a possibility.

$300 without Kinect. That's pretty much it. Their E3 presentation wasn't bad and I want a handful of the stuff they plan to put out, or already have.

Unfortunately for ms I will never purchase one. After they tried to fuck their customers over, I won't be supporting them at any point. I spend more than the cost of an xbone every week or so on video games, but they will get none of that.

Halo will we make me buy an XB1 IF by launch of Halo there are some other promising games announced for me to look forward to. I dont want to buy the system for one game just to realize a few months later I've made a huge mistake and have shit else to play. If I feel that scenario can happen, I'll simply borrow my friends XB1 to beat Halo. And if that happens, there is just about nothing that will get an XB1 in my home. Except maybe Halo 6 at that point?

More money.

No really, I'm already getting the Destiny PS4 Bundle and the Smash 4 adapter bundle so I won't have enough money and time for a XBO D:

Maybe next year I'll get one.

No reason to get one with PC, PS4, and Wii U already. I'm sick of Halo and Gears, and Destiny will scratch that Halo itch if it comes back.

Because there are obviously more than 400$ worth of games to buy every week. lol

I wanna see the receipts!

Also, this is a bait thread, especially when more than half is about people saying they will never buy one because of what MS did or because they have no compelling software. More shitposting... sigh

Price. Im waiting for 250 or 299 with a good bundle.

I have a Excellent PC (pushing 1440p) and a PS4.

I only need xbone for the exclusives like Forza and Fable. Console exclusive games ill just stick to the PS4 as it should be a better port.

Basically, exclusives are the key for me. I'll buy a console when there's 5 good games that appeal to me and I can't already play them on my existing systems. Scalebound and Sunset Overdrive are good starts. To me, the Xbox One looks more exciting than the PS4 right now, but I'm in no rush to buy either. I only just bought a 360.

Not much actually. Just spare Cash. I don't give a shit which is better as long as I had some money,I would buy both consoles.

Disclaimer: Would probably get the PS4 first though, since it has more exclusives that I want to play right now like Last Of Us Remastered and the latest killzone.

Trust me. I spent that much on a CIB pc-fx and jaguar CD about 2 weeks ago. This week was a mak strike supergun and some cps2 stuff. I spent $350 Friday alone for a WiFi vita and a capture card to be installed. I rarely buy current gen games.

Not to mention the ~$800 at the first of the month for these NESRGB boards.

Well, if you are a classic games collector then I guess you will not spend any on current gen. You remind me of my brother, he does the same as you lol, all on older games

The XB1 being the inferior system of all (personally), before I used to say Halo 5 would push me over the edge. I'm not so sure anymore.

I honestly believe they could push exclusives with simple kinect integration and I'd be fine with that. Gimme something I can't get on PS4 or on PC.

Is a minute showing of a graphical advantage all it takes to reach a consensus of superiority among gamers around here?

So far, it seems as if Sony spent their resources on a small graphical advantage while neglecting the functionality of its system. Other than the small up-tick on real world performance--when it comes to resolution--Xbox One seems to be the "superior" system as an interactive entertainment device.

In my opinion the opinion that the PS4 is superior while the Xbox One is inferior in feature set is as shallow as a rain puddle in the San Joaquin Valley.

I own a ps4 and had a Wii U as well. I'm just more likely to GameFly it to see if its worth buying instead of dropping money on them right away.

I had a collection of around 300 classic games (I know, not that impressive) but I sold it all a few years ago as it is an expensive hobby unfortunately :( Now I mostly just buy current gen or upgrade my PC. I haven't rented for at least 10 years, probably more.

I also own a Wii U! high five

So because you don't agree with the reasoning of those who don't intend to buy one, it's "shiposting".

A new Jet Gemini Force and at least 9 other interesting true exclusives. I have no desirable to buy multiple consoles when I play fighting games majority of the time nowadays. The PS4 will get pretty much all of them in addition to exclusive ones and have a larger playerbase (Tekken and all anime fighters were heavily populated on PS3 compared to 360 in both competitive players and overall userbase).

Oh.....Maybe you should stop being hurt because not everyone thinks the current announced games are compelling enough for them to buy the console? There's 2 other consoles to consider and everyone has different tastes.

What exactly isn't functional on the PS4? I can play all my games, watch my blurays and us Netflix/CR, all very easily and quick. What exactly did they sacrifice?

The only thing I can think of that the X1 has over the PS4 is the hdmi in which is useless for me

In fairness to evildede, everytime I read your reasons for never considering buying an Xbox One, I do a double take because I think I might've accidentally stumbled onto an Amnesty International thread.

Short of there being some kind of dealbreaker(such as the original DRM), the answer for me is always "enough games to justify the purchase", and already owning a PS4 makes this very difficult. I know some here buy them all and will spend $400 on a system for a handful of games, but I'm very reluctant to do something like that and the Xbone has so much overlap with the PS4.

Generally, I like MS's exclusives the least out of the big 3. I see a few games I'd be interested in playing on sale, but none of the titles that I'm really willing to pay a premium for. Some JRPGs would definitely help, but the number that would be needed to get me to buy in at $400 is unrealistic.

A more realistic scenario is they put out a few really good games, and I pick it up in a few years at $200 or lower. However, based off the current crop of games, I don't see it even justifying that.

Mistwalker RPG or Rock Band 4 with BC DLC and instruments would make me buy one in a heartbeat. Other than that.....I'm not really sure actually. I'll probably buy one eventually. Another price drop or a complete redesign entirely might win me over.

I've been a Nintendo gamer all my life, and only recently have toyed with the idea of getting a Playstation 4 (should it get PS1/2/3 games available for download, that is). Said possibility became all the more plausible when a friend informed me there was a brand new one in his brother's pawn shop , which is up for sale in a week, and will go for $206 USD. At THAT price it'd be a definitive no-brainer. The Xbox One, though....we'd have to talk about having that sort of impulse buy price AND several games I'd actually be excited for. So far I've seen nothing in that direction.

I have one but from my experience, what made me buy one is the long term investment. I knew later down the line, some things look bleek in the beginning but it takes time for things to find it's stride. It did ultimately come down to Microsoft changing their attitude, even though I still reserve the thought that they will comeback later, but as of right now that doesn't matter to me.

All in all, I like games. I am not afraid to try different things even if looks like something that straight up doesn't appeal to me. The Xbox is something different and I like that. It gives me another experience which ultimately is good for the soul. You don't end up regretting one because you can appreciate both for what they are. (Well, I am talking for me and not all but that's how I view it.)

I would like more people with PS4's to buy it and appreciate it for what it is. It's a good machine that offers difference. I'm not one of those that say, "competition is the best thing since sliced bread." Because in some cases, that isn't exactly true, but it does offer that type of push to keep everyone on the same page, whether for the better or the worst.

Master Cheif Collection is a start, but it's all about new IP's for me. And better first party support, Microsoft's first and secondy party support got really shitty towards the last few years of the consoles life, it went out with a whimper, and not a bang.

something really amazing exclusive that is not Halo, Gears or Fable

Right now i do no see this title

The equivalent of Sonys The last of us quality wise no matter the genre

I recognize that the following features might not be enough to sway most gamers or those who already own a PS4 into buying an X1, but it at least it shows MS's superiority when it comes to evolving a console's feature set and sticking to a regularly scheduled update.

Direct YouTube upload
3D Blue-Ray Playback
More robust DNLA features than the PS4
Suspend/Resume
External HDD support
Currently more app support (and the likelihood that it will have more support than the PS4 when it comes to apps due to the crossplatform nature of windows 8 and all MS devices)
HDMI-IN
Kinect's feature set

I know I'm forgetting much more stuff right now. So you're telling me all these advantages, plus MS' clear and present superiority and advantage when it comes to managing their software teams (when it comes to it's OS) wouldn't be enough to close the gap of minute graphical superiority between it and the PS4?

Master Chief Collection indeed but I will wait until it is 200 us or lower.

I only want to play story mode again and I can wait.

Despite being a lifelong Playstation fanboy, the only console games I'm looking forward to are MGS V and FF XV (I've fallen in love with League of Legends during the past year), both of which are multi platform. At this point, I'm pretty decided that I'll end up buying the cheaper console whenever either of those games drop.

It's difficult to find space for more than one of the "twins" besides Nintendo and PC in my gaming space, and this time around I was actually given a PS4. Conker and Banjo though...

I personally don't get the MS trust issue. It's not that I think people should trust them, but rather that I wouldn't put any trust in the competition either. Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Apple, Google and about every other profit-driven corporation would likely not hesitate to step on a man's corpse after first stealing his wallet. They'll all do what they think they can get away with, in terms of law and public perception. The former heads of Xbox just bafflingly threw those sensibilities out the window, and it rightfully backfired on them. But I wouldn't put that stuff past any other company, either.

Well, no, because this is a gaming forum. Games are the most important aspect of these consoles and the PS4 does it better. I really want suspend/resume though, I love it on the Vita. 3D bluray is I'm PS4. Everything else I won't comment on since I don't have a personal interest in those things (and I'm pretty sure a lot of those things are in the pipeline for PS, Sony seems to want to do a big update rather than incremental ones)

I gots to play Halo.

However, I'm waiting for a special version of the console.

I'll get white if it's a real thing and not marked up any extra from Sunset Overdrive.
