Xbox One will include TWO AA batteries

Xbox One gamepad works with AA batteries. Two AA batteries are included. I don't see the problem here. I suppose that some people needs to make fun of everything related to the One.

BTW, rechargeable AA batteries > internal battery

Insiders close to MS confirmed the batteries don't need XBL Gold.

I hope this stream of good news for the XBone never stops.

A five page thread about a twitter post about including batteries, there is a whole lot of "trying too hard" going on here
Pretty sure that is why the original thread was locked,a lot of people here still have a nursery school mentality when it comes to the xb1 or major Nelson

Ok seriously now, I actually find just the fact the X1 controller requires batteries to be a joke. Even Nintendo have rechargable controllers that don't require batteries now. Nintendo. It's annoying having to keep spare batteries on hand all the time.

batteries are better. You can get rechargeable ones and when they don't charge anymore you get new ones .. When a ds4 or nintendo gamepad won't charge anymore.. That's it.

So you're telling me if they add something (that by all means holds some small but irrelevant value) it's literally not added value? Literally?

Or is the discussion about it "literally nonsense"? Which I would disagree (for obvious reasons). It's pointless and we could all live without it, but it's not "literally" nonsense.

I'm sorry i don't meant for it to become a personal discussion i just thought your comment about it being added value was funny. I meant it was literally nonsense. IMO. The reason for this is batteries, like a manual is not something added IMO. It is standard. Basic. If not included i always feel a little ripped of. Well ripped off is a big word but seriously lacking customer service and a lack of respect to the buyer. So, to me, 2 cheap-ass batteries should be standard, like a manual. I'm starting to think threads like these was the reason he posted the Tweet. Like any publicity is good publicity. He might not expect gamers to be extremely positive about it at all, just to talk about it.

... have you ever had a faulty DS (with faulty batteries)? Do you know anyone who had a faulty DS, because of a dead battery?
I heard some random internet stories, but that's it.
These AA batteries in a modern gamepad are ridiculous.

You waited 3 days to post this. I guess you just wanted to find a new way to make fun of xbox...good for you op and all first page post. I bet PS4 doesn't come with HDMI cable though.

I hope Major Nelson deletes his tweet!! He made another mistake.
Its "Two Beautiful AA Batteries" wrapped in its own "Beautiful Black plastic" in the X1 box their including.

I think developers will appreciate Sony's single pool of unified battery

wtf LOL, That made me chuckle.

Good god no. By this logic the 3DS and Vita should have been powered by AA batteries. When they stop holding charge you have to buy a whole new system! No. Just no. Absolutely ridiculous argument. You've got more of a chance of the whole console breaking than the controller not charging any more. I have never heard of anybody having a situation where they had to by a new PS3 controller because it stopped charging. Ever. The chances of it happening are slim to none. The entire console will break down before that happens.

This is mic drop material.

I literally posted how that happened to me on this thread maybe 30 minutes ago.

My controller battery died in less than 2 months after purchase and would only worked when plugged in. Sony customer support in Canada is so very very useless and I was pretty much told there was nothing they could do and I needed to buy another ds3.

Recharge batteries are awesome, you can always have some on ready to insta swap out

I wonder if the Xbone controllers are going to act like my wiimotes and they'll drain my batteries dry in a week, even when i'm not playing

For future reference, you can return it to the shop you bought it from if it's broken.

Usually only within 30 days.

It's broken. 30 day return policies apply to products you find unsatisfactory. Broken products are covered by a reasonable life expectancy guarantee, usually a year without fuss, could push 3 years for something like a full console/laptop breaking.

People understand your consumer rights!! You really think you can't return a broken product to a shop after 30 days?

Nearly every store in Canada has a 30 day return policy. I don't think there's any law saying they have to take back broken products after that period at all, after that period you have to deal with the manufacturer.

Can the controller not be recharged using USB?
I wonder if it can charge rechargeable batteries?

Lithium-ion should be standard, down with this AA batteries!
Isn't AA just the size?

Triple A beats double A. Its basic math, can't argue with that.
Depends on the value of A, and what you mean by "beats".

why not go the removable charge thingy route that the 360 already has?
Different controller form.
