XBox Producer Suggests Recent Layoffs Use AI For Emotional Support for Losing Jobs to AI

So they are pushing fucking CoPilot to people they just laid off. This is asshattery on the level usually not seen even at the worst places.

"I know we just fired you after long tenure at MS. But you may feel better if you talk to Clippy over here.

We would have actual counselors or psychologists to talk to folks having hard time, but that costs money, so CoPilot is best we can do!"

Yeah, they're fucking brutal and full mask off when it comes to AI.

Saw this one yesterday:

Microsoft laid off 9,000 employees across the entire company yesterday, with an unknown number of those cuts impacting the Xbox and gaming division. Part of these cuts are reportedly directly related to Microsoft's push into AI, and some of those impacted by the cuts are speaking out about how Microsoft is doing its "damndest" to replace people with AI as fast as it can.

You might think, then, that at least for a day, possibly even a few days, Microsoft would post-pone any more pushing of its AI technology into the faces of developers, publicly or privately. Not the case, it would seem, as Kotaku spotted that Necrosoft Games director, Brandon Sheffield, shared the beginnings of an email he received from Microsoft and ID@Xbox, inviting him to a roundtable at Gamescom 2025 where Microsoft will be talking up using "AI in our tools and processes to make the game development and publishing experience more efficient

I think the message is loud and clear.

I mean i don't advocate for public struggle session like the chinese did during the great leap forward, but we need to find a way to take those inhuman execs down a peg or two.
They are getting wildly out of control.

How about Microsoft use A.I for their CEO/directors? They display the same emotional intelligence and compassion as ChatGPT, maybe even less..

I think I've got the pitch for the next Bond movie, 007 taking on some megalomaniac A.I company.

In the wake of everything that has transpired(and seemingly continues) for the last 48 hours, I don't see how anyone could continue to support Microsoft, really.

I, myself have not trusted them since 2013 with the various anti-consumer things they tried to do with Xbox One. I said before I don't think they ever recovered from that fully.

"Please use AI so we can train it up and replace everyone, including psychologists or counselors."

I hope they get booed at Gamescom and a part of me hope someone burns them at TGAs, like Swen Vincke.

Or Keighley can grow a spine and tell Spencer hes not welcome to attend.

Ok this is just plain evil knowing you're too big to be affected by any kind of negative backlash.
Unsure how we got in this corporate dystopia but this is not the correct way to life a life.

Imagine someone shoots you in the back, and then as you bleed to death your shooter holds you in his arms. Then he whispers in your ear, "You are loved. You are worthy. You've got this. You'll be fine".

Getting shot in the back can be a surprising hiccup, and if you're bleeding out or just thinking about it, you're on a fun little adventure! No need to stress over it. I've been playing with AI tools (like ChatGPT or Copilot) to handle the situation smoothly, and I'd be remiss not to share some handy prompts. They're great for keeping things upbeat if you're feeling a bit off:

Recovery Planning Prompts:
  • "Act as a cheerful guide. I've been shot in the back. Help me build a 30-day plan to patch up, explore new horizons, and keep smiling without any fuss."
  • "What cheerful options might I try after a little mishap like this?"
Story & Vibe Refresh:
  • "Here's my current story. Give me three bright versions: one for a community vibe, one for a solo journey, and one for leading the pack."
  • "Rewrite this life bullet to highlight my sunny impact and highlights."
  • "Draft a new 'About Me' blurb that focuses on my optimism, past wins, and a happy outlook."
Friendly Outreach:
  • "Write a cheerful message I can send to old friends letting them know I'm exploring new paths after the incident."
  • "Scribe a warm intro to reach out to [contact name] about staying connected."
Mindset Lift:
  • "I'm feeling a bit down after that shot. Can you reframe it to remind me what I'm good at?"

These tools are a nice way to keep the good vibes rolling. No replacement for your own spirit, but they'll help you stay on track. Share it with your network if it fits!

Keep happy, Keep limping, Keep connected.

That can't be real, if it is that person probably only have ai friend due to problem with social interaction. If you thought Microsoft couldn't be mediocre, you are in for the most mediocre ai ride of your life.
