Xbox Reveal Thread: Durango Unchained

No one can defend this, completely embarrassing.

Nothing but PR bullshit, buzzwords and talking out their ass.

"Rocket science and photons."

Canned laughter.

TV TV TV.

EA sports.

Kinnect KInnect Kinnect with faked video.

What a dud! Outside of showing Remedy's new Quantum Break, this thing was terrible...somehow worse than Sony's PS4 show in February.

Likes: The name, the basic confirmation of basic features, and new Kinect. Quantum Break.

Dislikes/don't care: everything else.

Long wait 'til E3 show to make up for a severe lack of games.

Seems heavily geared on leading into E3 to actually show stuff. The name is weird to me, but I like the controller.

Used games getting a kick in the balls http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2013/05/xbox-one-analysis/

There’s one feature of Xbox One from which we can infer quite a few conclusions: You can install any game from the disc to the console’s hard drive, and then play that game whenever you like without having to put the disc in.

Wired asked Microsoft if installation would be mandatory. “On the new Xbox, all game discs are installed to the HDD to play,” the company responded in an emailed statement. Sounds mandatory to us.

What follows naturally from this is that each disc would have to be tied to a unique Xbox Live account, else you could take a single disc and pass it between everyone you know and copy the game over and over. Since this is clearly not going to happen, each disc must then only install for a single owner.

Microsoft did say that if a disc was used with a second account, that owner would be given the option to pay a fee and install the game from the disc, which would then mean that the new account would also own the game and could play it without the disc.

But what if a second person simply wanted to put the disc in and play the game without installing – and without paying extra? In other words, what happens to our traditional concept of a “used game”? This is a question for which Microsoft did not yet have an answer, and is surely something that game buyers (as well as renters and lenders) will want to know.

OMG I can finally post a reply.

Let's see, what did I miss? I'm sure EA Sports games won't look as good as they showed, just like they didn't at the beginning of last generation. LoL @ Modern Warfare 3's graphics being cutting-edge. That Quantum Whatever game told me nothing except that it'll involve ships crashing into bridges and maybe live actors.

Oh, and thanks for letting us know Xbox Three is launching this year, Mattrick. We didn't already know that. Couldn't give us a date? Asshole.

The only kinda cool thing was a Spielberg Halo TV show. It'll probably be like a Netflix sort of thing and only be accessible via the Xbox Three, though.

Thought: OS looks slick, new controller the d-pad is all that matters. No live demo :( E3 is just around the corner but there wasn't that one thing that blew me away. Right now PS4 seems like it's more powerful, but I'm going to hold final judgment until after E3. Lets see those games.

Honestly, I thought it was good to great conference. Not sure what people were expecting. You're either going to get tons of games on E3 or all the TV stuff at E3 - pick one. I think a lot of its fairly cool but I better be able to connect if I live outside the US to some of these features. I live in Canada, if I got TSN as a similar partnership with ESPN, I'd be all over that.

What a crap reveal. I do not give a single fuck about voice activated TV nonsense and most of the other stuff would be better and easier on a tablet tbh. The Remedy game was the only thing that looked remotely interesting.

Let's hope they were saving the good stuff for E3.

Also is the entire FUT mode exclusive on Fifa 14, or is it just exclusive content for the FUT mode?

Well that was pretty shit. The only good things were the design of the system and the new controller. Looks like I'll be spending next-gen on my PC.

Waste of time I felt. Not sure why this event was needed. I think its clear gaming is not their main focus anymore. It really hasn't been for years though.

COD looks bad for next gen compared to other next gen things we've seen. Can't say I'm surprised with it being infinity ward and all.

Don saying you don't need to be online to play single player but you need to be online to browse the internet and stream stuff was pretty funny. Lol duh.

Overall very disappointing event. Sony shouldn't be very shook after this.

Sony had the better showing. Buying both at launch, so I'm getting the best of the two worlds (well three since I also have the Wii U).

If I hadn't already had a username change this year, I'd ask to become New Dog Model.

What a disaster. Some of the features they were showing off were neat, but they couldn't carry a presentation. The buzz about being six months behind on game development really showed.
