It will be the cheapest next gen console available and is perfect for those without a 4K TV, don't plan on buying a 4K TV as well as casuals who want a next gen console without spending a lot of money and parents who have kids which will save them money. Add in game sharing and it becomes even cheaper.

Then you add in Game Pass and damn, it's a steal. Great move by Microsoft.

Only question is - will it be $100 or $200 cheaper than the PlayStation 5 digital edition? My money is on $200.

It looks like they've jammed the stripped-down Series X internals into the Xbox One S | X's housing, so it'd make sense for there to be a huge fucking fan on the top of the thing.

Yep. But it's between Xbox One S and Xbox Series X. Xbox One (2013), Xbox One All Digital and Xbox One X have all been discontinued. And I wouldn't be surprised to see the Xbox One S be discontinued in the very near future.

I think this looks unique and practical for direct air flow over the SOC.

It does look like a mini speaker, that could fit in with your other 'smart' speaker.

It seems like a fairly traditional console form factor but standing up, so that it's like looking at the top of a One X. That would look fine in my entertainment centre - but in all black please.

With the Series S being $300, we can be sure that SeX will be ATLEAST $500. I suspect that ps5 will try its best to hit $400 but final guess is that it will also be $500 at the very least with the digital edition being $400.

Loved the Series X look, but this, if real, is blah.

It obviously can sit down in horizontal form, where you won't notice that fan as much, so that's cool. Still, trying to present that giant fan as some kind of artistic statement is a mistake. Painting the grill white could have looked a lot better?

$299 though. We'll need to see how it performs, what specific resolutions it runs at, and if people are into something less powerful, as long as it's next-gen, but that's the shot heard around the world.

Series S have a fast zen2 cpu with fast ssd and a rdna2. I never expected MS to price at $299, it is just so aggressive.
My prediction was $399, this is impossibly crazy value.

That looks to be the top side of the console it position vertical and the ventilation is the black speaker grill looking part on the top blowing air up.

It's literally the same design as the One S/X so I don't know why everyone says it looks ugly. The choice to make the fan vent stand out so much is odd but that's really the only thing different about it.
