since nothing shown so far has been mind-blowing. If Microsoft blow my mind I'll bite.
Agree, nothing new we've seen thus far has been terribly exciting. Halo Infinite has a good opportunity to build excitement, mostly because we haven't seen ANYTHING of gameplay or the game in general for what feels like eons.

If MS goes balls out and shows everything, it will blow everything else away this year.

Absolute givens to be shown.
- Halo Infinate.
- Assasins Creed Valhalla
- Fable
- Everwild

Good Chance to be shown.
- New Obsiden RPG
- State of Decay 3

I'd be happy with these. Fable being #1. Maybe after Everwild we can finally get a Kameo 2

Why don't they just upload the video with a scheduled time and let everyone watch it at 4K/60 from the get go vs streaming a video that's already done?
Much like PS5 stream, the videos will likely be available the minute the broadcast concludes, so it won't that make much of a difference tbh.

Right but the first impression won't be the best impression then. If this was something that was indeed live it makes sense. Buts it's pre recorded.

Maybe someone should send Phil a message before they F it up by not showing it in 4K. Like you said it's already pre recorded so why not.

They want to have it on Twitch as well I'd guess, and I don't think premiers get nearly as much push from the algorithm as live streams. Not as much hype from press either

You do realize if you take out the ps 5 console reveal and all the intermission of sexy buttons during the PS5 reveal it be the same length. Please they announced they'll be at gamescon so I'm sure they're not going to announce everything next week.
True that. Hope they show actual gameplay!

It's only an hour, dude, it's really not that serious. Not everyone will be able to tune into the stream anyway, and most of the aggregate views will come from individual trailer uploads.

Not a question of be serious dude. It just doesn't make any sense. Literally doing a live stream of a pre recorded video in a lower quality of a product that is meant to render in 4K simply so they can "do it live."

My prediction:

On Itagaki's Facebook page he's been teasing a game for a while now. Back in May he made a post about being excited for Unreal 5. I can't remember where I saw it but he said he was friends with the Original Xbox's architect or something like that. He's been pretty quiet for the last month on Facebook...perhaps hard at work. By the way when asked about going back to Team Ninja or doing a DOA game he said no, right now he is moving forward. I believe that Itagaki-sensei could reveal his game at this showcase.

Come on, it's going to be in 1080p. You say it like it'll be 480p or something lol. Again, it's all going to be available the very minute the stream concludes.

Go watch the 4K versions of the PS5 trailers then go back and watch the 1080p versions of them that were shown. It's a night and difference.

YouTube compression is really, really bad.

That's my point. You can watch 4K versions of the PS5 trailers literally right after it concluded. If the only option was still that stream, then it would be an issue.
Besides, YouTube compression is bad in general, whether at 1080p or 4K.
At least with Microsoft we'll likely get higher bitrate 4k versions of the gameplay/trailers from Gamersyde. Sony doesn't even do that.

The entire point of the stream is for hype and marketing purposes, and to maximize concurrent viewers for their software lineup. Come on, you know this already.

Then show the best versions of the trailers that everyone will be tuning into to watch ASAP.

And the compression is far less intrusive at 4K than 1080p.

Never said it was an issue. I said it's a dumb PR move to try and do something "live."

YouTube and Twitch don't support 4k streaming atm, and again the stream is meant to hype and market their software lineup.

You're fussing about something that'll last only an hour. The vast majority of people won't even care, as most views will come from 4K uploads anyway.

The June PS5 stream peaked at 7 million+ concurrent live viewers. It was the most watched gaming live stream event on YouTube to date apparently.
So yea, I would strongly disagree with that opinion.

Will have to agree to disagree.

This mknth has felt like an eternity, after these games are shown it's going to feel even longer waiting for the consoles to launch.

Yeah but so is Death Stranding (used to be PS4 exclusive with exclusively AMD hardware inside the PS4) and now we have Death Stranding on PC with an amazing DLSS implementation from Nvidia.
Yeah, bc it came out on PC.

Consoles don't have Nvidia cards therefore they won't be able to use Nvidia rtx or dlss features. Amd had their own variants of dlss and ray tracing

Oh. Yeah all Xbox first party games are coming to PC. It is how I play them through PC Gamepass.

Silly question, but where do you think will be the best place to watch this after the event?

Does the xbox still have the events app?

I would like to watch in 4k. My laptop don't like 4k youtube. It keeps frrezing all the time. I don't think that it is the connection seeing as I have 1gb fibre.

Thanks for the replies

Just hour? What the fuck, they got 3 more months, thanks to no E3 and now this? Halo is going to be like 20 minutes and then indies, I presume, wonderfull
That's how I feel. I'm excited and I definitely want to see Halo, but with 15 studios currently developing titles, show me everything
