Xbox Summit in Japan:

Xbox 360 comes with headset, remote, harddrive, and controller

Konami to produce two games for Xbox 360

Ridge Racer 6 announcement

Another Resident Evil 5 trailer
[Rumor End]

Fixed .. 4 reality .. :D

Japanese launch pushed back to March so they can have a "worthwhile launch".

That, at least, is complete and utter BS if Microsoft is hoping to make ANY kind of headway in Japan.

If the Ridge Racer thing is true I hope Sony has an appropriate punishment for Namco waiting in the wings.

I dunno, the Namco support for PS3 has bee ho-hum so far. They showed a CG teaser for the next Tekken game and that's about it for their PS3 stuff.

I think they are focusing on X360 right now, Frame City killer is 360 exclusive and now rumours of Ridge Racer from multiple sources.

btw Massive Attack said a Ridge Racer is definately coming and he has good sources, he was right about WarkHawk PS3.

Frame City is a minor project, the first big series from Namco,Tekken, has already been confirmed to PS3.
And I really wouldn't question that a Ridge title will be at the PS3 launch.
So if nothing has been shown at the PS Meeting I see only two possibilities:
a)No RR at the MS conference (game may be still coming for both but it's to early to show it)
b)Xbox360 and PS3 will have two different Ridge games.

I guess Konami support is ho hum too since they didn't technically show any PS3 games. Your logic is retarded.

Careful, this might end up as an exclusive story on *****.

Edit: You can't even say their name here? Impressive!

haha you may be right about the RR stuff but you are completely wrong about frame city killer.

It is not a minor project! Namco is using the Unreal 3.0 engine for it and they want it to be a million seller. Also, the Ace Combat and Tekken teams are working on it so I wouldn’t call it minor :P

:lol nice reply!

Konami wants to have major series on both 360 and ps3 (MGS4 on PS3 and something new on X360)

i wonder if this will be strictly japanese stuff. any chance we might see som more PD0 footage? maybe with updated graphics?... ninja gaiden 2 would be super awesome, but i don't expect it...

edit// i wish team ninja would just drop the shitty DOA series and turn into a ninja gaiden factory. i would like to have about 2 or 3 ninja gaiden games next gen. one every 2.5 years would be great. Doa just does nothing for me... NG at launch or somewhere close to launch would make me much more likley to buy a 360 on release day.

It'll be stuff for Japan

The only Western games I'd really expect are racers.

I know you like it Doom Bringer but currently it's just a minor project compared to Namco's big series.
And the fact that is made with Unreal Engine (they don't even use it really well I could add) it's not a point in its favour considering that Japanese developers for their important projects traditionally use proprietary engines.
Also everyone want their game to be a million seller :D :lol

Guys, ya know, let's try not to speculate about even the level of support just yet. PS3 and 360 are getting projects from Konami and Namco, no need to worry about just how much. :P

Dude the Unreal engine costs at least 1 million clams! I think Namco will use it for many of their games. Plus the game is being developed by Tekken and Ace Combat at Namco Japan. If it were a minor or unimportant project they would have outsourced development to Namco Hometek.

Not to nitpick, but what he's implying is that it's an investment across the board. It can be used for many titles. It's not an indication that Frame City Killers is a big or small project.

YES! that would be the best way to stop them moving wholesale to the X360!!!

Namco don't owe Sony a living.

Isn't the RR 360 thing essentially guaranteed. I've seen the "rumor" mentioned at least 5 or 6 places and mentioned by more than a few "insider" posters.

I think it's about as much of a lock as it can be.

Okay, so let's say that all the rumored games are indeed true 360 games. What I'm wondering is, will it make a difference in Japanese sales and the perception of the 360? I mean, the first Xbox had some big Japanese games (MGS2, Onimusha, Silent Hill 2, Soul Calibur 2), and those were all but ignored in Japan.

If Ninja Gaiden 2 is shown me = ascend to heaven.

A difference, sure. But it depends on how it's advertised, and if Microsoft manages to grab a DragonQuest or Winning Eleven-level exclusive. Without it, if those just keep going to Sony systems then it's not going to do much except win them a million or two so extra consoles. Which is good, but it won't beat Sony.

Exclusive: Perhaps

Multiplatform: Not a chance. Er, at least regarding sales.

If Xbox 360 has Final Fantasy XIII, for example, and it is also on PS3, perhaps Japanese gamers wouldn't laugh quite as loudly at the Xbox 360 as they otherwise would have. But fat chance on them buying the system. If Final Fantasy XIII were exclusive (and I admit this is completely out of the realm of possibility), then it would be a whole new ballgame.

Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon at least have more of a chance to sway Japanese gamers than increased albeit multiplatform support from the big boys.

Of course, I've never set foot in Japan so I could be entirely incorrect.

No.

I'll just quote Microsoft on this one

The interesting thing about the Japanese market is that Japanese gamers are quite immune to what we view as successful marketing methods in the West. They don't choose a games console in the same way that some people choose to wear a pair of Adidas or Nikes. When we asked Japanese gamers what informed their choice of console they told us they would choose whichever one had the games they wanted to play. So that boils down to what console has Final Fantasy. If two consoles have Final Fantasy, they'll choose the one with the greatest variety of Final Fantasy games.

Of course it's going to make a difference compared to the Xbox. That's a redundant question.

Let's see....will releasing games japanese are going to want to play on the Xbox 360 make a difference vs not releasing games they want to play on the Xbox? Hmmm....I wonder....

Will releasing games you're going to want on a system make a difference versus if it didn't have any?

Not to nitpick, but the fact that it uses the Unreal Engine doesn't really count against it. In the past...few, if any, japanese games used third party engines. They have been all the rage in the west for years, but the number of japanese titles using licensed engines can probably be counted on one hand.

Eh, all this news of Silent hill and BK being MS big surprise is kind of underwhelming. I dont care for those games

Give me Winning Eleven, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Shenmue 3 please.

Er, to the person who said FFXIII, didn't Square and/or Sony already say that it would be on PS3?

Or not?

Square said they look forward to bringing the Final Fantasy series to PS3.

Nothing has been said specifically about FFXIII or its exclusivity

Though I don't think they really have to say anything...

I don't see how FFXIII being on PS3 would negate the possibility of it being on Xbox 360 or even Revolution for that matter. I certainly hope Square spreads the love, but I'll have a PS3 anyway even if they keep it exclusive.

If Ridgeracer is shown, I expect it to be mentioned, perhaps actually shown in video, but the word exclusive will not be mentioned.

Less than an hour to go. I have to take a test online now but I can't remember shit. This is fucked up man.................
