I would like to see just one game that makes me feel like next gen is actually here in a big way......so far it's all been very underwhelming to me.

You seem like the guy who'd rather a girl who brags about what a bad bitch she is online and doesnt do shit rather than one who simply stays off social media and takes care of shit.

So you would rather state of plays instead of big shows like sony used to do during ps4 era. Why? Imagine if sony had a 90 minute show on Monday after Microsoft. That would be hype.

If Xbox has all of this (as a surprise not leaked) is it Sony 2015 year of dreams?

It wouldn't be hard to overtake it, Sony's "E3 of dreams" doesn't even hold up. If showcases are judged badly for having CGI trailers and announcements for games that are years away, Sony's 2015 conference isn't anywhere near a top-tier event.

I mean most of that list is 3rd party titles we already know about, dropping them into gamepass doesn't make them more exciting.

Microsoft gotta put out some new games that get people excited. Starfield has the best shot of being exciting
True, to me it is Avowed, but for the general public i think Starfield will be their sure thing (assuming it has the impact of Skyrim reveal for example)

I think this genuinely stands a chance of being Xbox's best conference ever.

Not for 2022 of course. This year is a fucking wasteland.

But for 2023/24, they could really come up with some very strong announcements tomorrow.

Soooo Microsoft is gonna carry this Summer Game Fest like last year isn't it? Time for my prediction:

The "most likely/sure to be there" stuff:
Forza Expansion 1
Starfield
Halo coop + multi update
Hellblade II
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. II
Forza 8
COD MW II multiplayer reveal & Warzone 2
Redfall
Wolfenstein 3
New IP by ZeniMax
Scorn

The "probably not there, buuut you never know":
State of Decay 3
Avowed
Gears 6
Diablo IV?
Fable (and I'm really sad, but I don't think the game is ready for the reveal)
Contraband
Killer Instinct 2

Not there:
Quake
Indiana Jones
The Outer Worlds 2
TES VI
Sony still has the rights to all the market promotion for call of duty this will not be at the show

95 minutes seems great, not sure why anyone would say negative things about a long show.
It really depends what's in there. 95 minutes with with little to show for it would be something to complain about, but that's after the fact. Complaining before the show doesn't make sense.

The same thing was said last year: 2022 - that's when it all comes together. And then everything got delayed, and Xbox is looking down the barrel of releasing nothing in 2022.

If Microsoft want to score a homerun with this conference, they need to deliver something decent for 2022. I hope they've got an ace up their sleeve - they've certainly got enough studios to surprise us. If they deliver on the announcements but there's nothing to actually play this year, it'll be a good show, but it won't be an unmitigated success. It'll be another "wait for next year" show. And I gotta be honest: I'm tired of waiting.

2022 is a dumpster fire for every single console. I don't think it'd be entirely fair to judge MS on how things are going for them, if they don't produce loads of games for the rest of this year. Nobody is doing that. Covid fucked it.

Though, if they can pull something huge out anyway, that'd certainly be a good thing.

All the people begging for gameplay, will be crying boring in the 1st 3 minutes.

You see it every year with the Cod gameplay reveal or the Ubisoft demos.

Ppl say they want raw gameplay, but when they get it they whine its too slow.

That's why I never whine about not showing gameplay. CoD is a perfect example - it's so boring after a few minutes.

I always liked the way Horizon Zero Dawn was introduced. Developer showing on stage - check. Few words, no bullshit - check. All in game/engine - check. Mystery/intrigue - check. A perfect mix of in-game cinematics and gameplay - check.

This is how every game should be announced:

That trailer is what finally got me to try PlayStation last gen. Overall I was pretty underwhelmed by the highly acclaimed games I heard about for so long. I'm sure they are great games for Sony fans, they just aren't the type of games for me. Different taste and all that, although I did think TLoU-R was decent.

It was Horizon Zero Dawn that made getting a PS4 worthwhile. It lived up to the trailer and became one of my favorite games last gen. The most recent Hellblade 2 trailer feels kind of similar to the one for HZD.

It's probably going to be a good conference, actually I hope so.

With all the proven teams under their belt? Of course it will be. In fact, they will lead the charge first party wise from 2023 onwards, with Sony in "catch-up" mode over the years. This is not a knock against the Playstation...It is my favourite videogames entity, by a distance, but the facts do not lie...MS has 32 or 33 studios with the addition of AB, most of which with a great track record; The PS can not compete on this front with its 17 internal studios. Sony has to double-down on quality and start adding teams regularly if they do not want to get squashed before the generation is over. That being said, Sony, with its japanese DNA, is very, very conservative with its spending, so I do not expect them to become as agressive as needed.
