monkeymagic said:For PS3 owners - is a 512MB or 1GB stick going to be necessary for this game?
Haleon said:They may use it, but I don't any last-gen game truly needed it. The downside seems to be slightly longer load times.
Jerkface said:What's the price per megabyte on those by the way?
Master of the Melee said:The xbox 360 needs a HDD or HD DVD because all games are in Hi Def and that means that all textures are going to be bigger, meaning the graphics will take up already four times as much disk space in most cases. The Rev, with its smaller custom DVDs, are technically bigger since Nintendo has banned HDTV. Sony is unaffected with blu ray.
The fact that the 360 does not have that means it has a hardware liability, one that may be abandoned in just a few months given the outcry towards Microsoft coming in at all sides.

gofreak said:Judging by newegg.com - which probably ain't the cheapest - they're 6-7 US cents per MB.

gofreak said:Let's compare PS3 HDDs to X360 HDDs
They're about 10 times cheaper than 360 memory cards. The 512MB stick is in absolute terms cheaper too (about $35 I think), and could store 5 saves for this game (but yes, caching may present further requirements).
ram said:football manager 2006 - maybe not a triple A game, but will we see other games, that requiere the hadrdisc to be playable in the future? whats next, games only playbale with hd-dvd drive?
AdmiralViscen said:Let's compare the prices of the Network Adapter to prices for the Hard Drive. And like you said, PS2's started getting bundled with the Adapter pretty quickly.
D3VI0US said:See the difference is the HDD has value, where as with the Network Adapter it was questionable cause of support. HDD is a big memory card, you can DL Live Arcade games, demos, and other content. Eventually any avid Xbox own will benefit from owning the HDD and HDD only games are only another reason. I don't really care about HDD only games cause I'll have a HDD, they don't call it the Tard pack for nothign afterall.

did people already forget the hdd slot on the left side of the PS3 mockup?monkeymagic said:For PS3 owners - is a 512MB or 1GB stick going to be necessary for this game?
monkeymagic said:Just like most people with an agenda against the console they hate I don't care to calculate the price per megabyte

Suikoguy said:At this point if I was MS, i'd make the HDD pack standard now, and offer those who bought a core to a free first party game of their choice.. but that's just what I would do.

D3VI0US said:I thought it was 20 gigs.
Also for all those saying they should bundle the HDD, no point now the damage is done and bundling the HDD doesn't allow them to loss lead and undercut Sony early on as it adds to the cost of the system.

All games rendered at 1280x720? No.
All games will be required to use FSAA? No.
These are the three that stick out for me.
hadareud said:Show me a game that is out that doesn't use any AA.
And about the 1280x720, I don't think there is any real proof that PGR3 doesn't render at that resolution.

thorns said:21 saves, biggest save is 250mb, with a huge database size set..
that said, I couldn't think of playing FM on anything other than a PC though. PC FTW in this case!

I really, really, really want 360 to be a strong competitor to the PS3, but I'm really starting to get worried. They had better drop the Core pack this year. The boosted profits they get from charging a hundred bucks for a 20gig hard drive is going to kill them in the long run.
I don't know why MS went from total lack of concern for profitability for 4 years, to such a ridiculous expectation of immediate profitibility today. They are going to cripple themselves with this bullshit.

PWN3D.

Note that he didn't say there never would be such a game. Should he have shut his mouth? You bet. But all along we've all known that there would be at least MMO at some point that would require HDD. Mock outrage is disingenous.
