Xenoblade Chronicles is one of my favourite games of all time, so I for one am really excited for this thing! I just hope it'll have the British voice acting again.

It's Tales. End of story.

I actually like this style. If you're gonna go Anime you should go all-out. Not half measures, like-

better than this shitty game

Even though I thought Xenosaga III had pretty stellar models and was sorta a half-measure between XSI and II, but it worked out. XCX was a much worse version of that

Same. I'll be 23 or 24 when this game comes out in 2018, I don't want to be seen playing as a goddamn 10 year old or whatever in public. Like what the hell is wrong with them? Why would would they do that anyway? Who enjoys playing as kids in their games? No one, that's who. smh

Edit: Main character isn't too bad actually, but the rest I don't like.

This is embarrassing. You've got some growing up to do. 24 going on 16.

Are you sure?

This CS Lewis Quote is relevant.

“When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty, I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”

I'll be 41 or 42 by then and I have no fucks to give when it comes to what others think of my hobbies.

Actually today at work we were having fun and talking about the Pokémon series with a 18 year old and a 22 year old.
If the old farts don't like that, well that's their problem then.

Whats with his helmet? I wonder if he puts it on for story purposes.

And I'm assuming that is the Monado at the end?

Nobody knows, but it could very well be a new Monado.

I'm also thrilled that most of the music folk are back. I'll miss Yoko Shimomura, but the rest of the composers knocked it out of the park last time as well. My ear holes will be most pleased, I'm quite confident.

So Nintendo of America is advertising this game as a 2017 game. There's no way in heck that it releases in North America this year. I don't even know why they'd get our hopes up.

My love is too high for this. It's literally Xenoblade. I felt it from the beginning and Xenoblade Chronicles is one of my favorite games ever.

Was xenoblade x worse than xenosaga 2?

X was almost a completely different type of game and not the sequel or spiritual successor everybody wanted. The original Xenoblade Chronicles is a real story focused and highly story-driven JRPG while Xenoblade X tells its story mostly though hundreds of short side-quests accessible from a single hub-location. X also had much more restrictions in freedom of party member and quest selection and played more like a dungeon crawler due to the lack of other cities or towns to explore.

Xenosaga 2 was still a real and full Xenosaga game but Xenoblade X was something entirely different and unexpected. For me Xenoblade X was the biggest disappointment in videogame history. Despite being a good and very long game, it never reached the level of perfection and quality of the original.

I really don't agree with this. I think the game looks fantastic and I like the art style of the characters. I am very excited for this game.

Same here, The only gripe i have is how poorly it seemed to run in some sections...Otherwise it was awesome, and when i saw the flying ships the first thought i had was Skies of Arcadia.

I don't understand why they're making a sequel to the game with a perfect ending instead of the one which finish with a cliffhanger, but day 0

I liked the Wii game so much more than the Wii U game. It has so much more story, and the music was better with better characters.

I hope its a direct sequel.

I'm super stoked for this game; definitely the best surprise of the Switch conference. The full-on anime style looks great; definitely stronger than XCX's look. The return of ACE is also welcome, even though I liked Sawano's stuff too. I'm really curious to see where the story goes and how it plays.

The only thing I'm down on is how long the wait will be. Hopefully 2018 is the year, but 2019 certainly wouldn't surprise me.

Really hope they nail this one.

I could feel potential for greatness in both Xenoblade and Xenoblade X, but both kind of fell flat for my after a little bit. Xenoblade X had a lot of really frustrating stuff in it, too.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a "director's cut" style port of X to the Switch at some point.

Art style doesn't bother me one bit. The story, music, missions, gameplay and overall sense of adventures is what makes Xenoblade brilliant.

Something else that just... resonates... with me, and what makes this series so special to me...

... I, and many others, worked HARD to even get Nintendo to release the original game. Operation Rainfall and all that, and I did my part. I remember pre-ordering "Monado: The Beginning of the World" from Amazon as a show of support, putting my money where my mouth was. I remember calling Nintendo's Customer Center and letting them know I wanted the game brought over. I remember people sharing tips on how to safely mod your Wii system to play imported copies.

And when the game finally did come west, it was a limited run, exclusive to Nintendo's own shop and Gamestop stores.

And yet it was just so special and word of mouth spread. Its reputation grew. Its popularity grew. And against all odds, one of the greatest JRPGs I've played just kept making waves, years after its initial release.

I think the moment I knew it "made it" was when Shulk popped up in Smash Bros, trading blows with Link, Mario, and later Cloud and Ryu.

So to see the game franchise actually even BE a franchise at this point is not something I'm taking for granted. The original game even getting localized was at one point considered a long shot, and yet here we are, anticipating Xenoblade 2 in earnest.

Feels good.

From what I've heard, it is a direct sequel.

Though we don't yet know in what capacity. It could take place a hundred years later or something.

Please please please please please please Nintendo/Monolith, don't ridiculously sexualize every. single. one. of your female characters/enemies, as you did in Xenoblade Chronicles X. That game had some ludicrous pandering going on....

As a game, I'll take Xenoblade X over Xenosaga Episode 1 and 2 any day of the week.

Xenosaga III, however... that's a tough call. I felt that was right when the series finally found its footing and balance, but it was right when they realized they had to start wrapping everything up ASAP.

But Xenosaga II's battle system continued to give me nightmares.

After giving it some thought it isn't even the character designs that bother me the most. Sure they are generic as shit, but what I don't like is that they are going with a younger cast again. Both the last two games went in a way I wasn't a fan of with the cast, first being young (yet seemingly not this young) and second was create a character. Sure I enjoyed both of them, but I was just hoping for something different. I could live with an art style since it doesn't matter to story and plot points, but the age and/or making your own character has a big impact on possible story and characterization of those characters. And that is what I play the Xeno games for.

This was a very nice surprise. I have a weird relationship with the recent Xeno games. I own both, I've barely played the first and the second got completely lost in the shuffle of other games.

That said, this was one of the better trailers of the show. I think it probably has the nicest art style of the new Xeno games. I'm in for this one most likely.

I just gave one hope for the localisation. Please, please, please, please, please let Europe handle this one! The original Xenoblade Chronicles is absolutely amazing and I need more of that. Not the just decent one that X got!

If we get an X-2, I'd hope to follow a British colony too, just to have that UK talent because of how well the first game was done.

Some of the charm might be because it's not the usual american VA we're so used to hearing, but I do think with the first Xenoblade, the actors just did a really good job of selling the emotion.

Maybe by the time you are 23 or 24 you will be mature enough not to care about petty things.

I wonder how they work with the cutscenes in this one, in the other 2 games, the characters had the outfit that was equipped in them, this looks like it might be slightly harder to keep that feature. I do like the artstyle in this one too, I bet it makes it possible to be even more creative with the creatures and enviroments for the artists.

I played parts of Xenoblade (my european copy, I lost for a while and I traded my NA copy back in for lots of money) got stuck and shelved it. XCX was my GOTY for the sense of adventure alone.

I am super hyped on this despite it being more like the first game....

HD JRPGs are rare man...too little quality ones to be picky.

I believe that it may be Japan 2017, but they'll push back West release to 2018. I can't imagine this game ANY earlier than Holiday 2017, and why would they put this up against Mario?

If anything that is more of a reason its totally launching this year lol. Nintendo loves sending games to die.

The character models look very odd to me. Definitely a step up from X but I still don't like them. The biggest thing holding me back from getting this though is that Monolith didn't finish X's story. It pisses me off enough that I could pass on the game just to spite them.
