He is. I hope by the time the game is released the WiIU will have enough homebrew options to replace the soundtrack with construction noises instead. Would certainly be an improvement.

The entire soundtrack? Seriously? That's pretty disappointing, I liked how Xenoblade had all sorts of different composers working on it.

The only Sawano soundtrack I've heard is Kill la Kill's. I actually liked a few of the songs, but I don't really think he can match Xenoblade's OST. At least the rest of this game is looking great.

Ofc I played it, even imported the japanese version at launch and beat it without knowing any japanese at that time ;).
I'm just trying to connect loose ends here. Multiplayer isn't going to work the same way as it does in Somabringer. So I thought, if the already got the opportunity to introduce noname characters through life pots which are easily replaceable, they might go for it.
It would also fit with what the tree house guy said about customization.
Also, I wonder if they'd just waste the character editor like that. No reason to give you that many tools if you only get to use it once in the entire game...

I think it's possible that the multiplayer mode could be entirely separate from the story mode. You'll probably be able to use the same character you created, but it's possible that they'll just have the world open for exploration with different objectives and stuff. I don't really see the game supporting multiplayer in the story itself. We'll see though, they clearly aren't ready to show anything for that yet.

Just so happened to go in to Satorl Marsh during the day.

Thought what a shitty uninspired area after Guar Plains.

Then the clock struck 7 and boom! crazy colours starting appearing all around me!

Amazing experience.

Man, that was really an awesome moment during the game. After that happened, I made sure never to let daylight come unless I needed to. Same thing with Valak Mountain. I'm actually a fan of Sawano's music during action moments, but I'm skeptical of his ability to surpass the musical triumphs of Satorl Marsh and Valak Mountain at night. From what I've heard of his overworld music, I'm not too impressed yet.

The music in the Treehouse gameplay is godlike.
I was a bit bummed out we wouldn't get the same composers as Xenoblade, but my fears were quelled by what I heard.

Actually liked the music so far (trailers and gameplay footage). Was a bit worried because, I watched Guilty Crown and that wasn't too memorable (the show itself was actually pretty crappy). But here, I'm pretty fine, liked it a lot, actually. Even the choruses. :)

Did Xenoblade have level-gated equipment? I put in 140 hours and can't remember... anyway, I'm disappointed to see it here, I always think that's a cop out in RPGs. If you're good enough to get the equipment by defeating high-level enemies or whatnot, you should be able to use it.

That is exactly what happened to me. I went into the Marsh during the day, and I was actually somewhat disappointed at how it looked after coming from the Bionis Leg. I just walked around a little exploring and then it got dark and the area went from dull/drab to beautiful. I pretty much kept the time at night when I explored the marsh unless a quest required something in the day, lol.

I guess I'm the odd one out because I absolutely loved the swamp at daytime, mostly thanks to the daylight music. At the time, I coudn't quite put my finger on why, but the more I thought about it, the more it reminded me of old snes rpg music tracks, especially ones from my favourite snes rpg terranigma. The night theme being kinda boring didn't help either.

Nope it didn't. And I agree - I'm a little bummed to see level-gated equipment introduced here. It's not a big deal, but can be annoying.

This is pure blasphemous! :P

An interesting tidbit I found.

Character designs are being handled by Kunihiko Tanaka who also did the character designs for Xenogears and Xenosaga I.

Yeah, that was announced during the very first reveal trailer.

It did not.

Yeah I don't like that. Granted, in Xenoblade it's usually a challenge to defeat enemies of a higher level anyway, but I don't like such restrictions in my Xenoblade, a game without many restrictions, the first one anyway.

Finally took the time to watch the Treehouse video.

Damn this game looks AWESOME. 2015 can't come soon enough.
The combat, the enemy design, the size and scope of both the game areas and the monsters.
This is up there with bloodborn as my most hyped game.

I really need to get a Wii Mote and a copy of this game from my WiiU ASAP

PS:
I didn't know people disliked Sawano so much. I like him.
I'm not a fan of his "vocal" songs.
But I really liked his work in Gundam Unicorn, Some of his stuff from Attack On titan, and some of his original stuff

Yasunori Mitsuda would have been better (then again, Mitsuda is allways better) but I'm fine with Sawano

That first trailer back in January last year had a fantastic track.

Yup.

I like his music too, never knew there were so many haters until the KLK thread, can't wait to hear the sountrack for this.

Yeah, it was great getting to see and hear stuff from that demo.

Wonder how many regions this will have, cause holy hell the first region looks really big.

But since Xenoblade Wii was massive, I'm sure this one will be too.

As a girl with a huge passion for art (VG art, movie concepts, historical paintings, etc.), I thought that much was obvious by character designs alone. Still nice to get real word on it though!

It really did. Another 150 hours for us it looks like :P

But at least the Mech travel will help. I wonder how much upgrading you'll be able to do :)

Pretty sure we will be able to take control of the other characters. We could in Blade. Maybe the MC is just customizable out the wazoo and the other characters have their own set of classes.

In the first treehouse demo they mention that each character has a class set they can cycle through. I'm assuming he meant unique class sets for each character. I would be really bummed if there aren't multiple playable characters with unique abilities/play styles.

I can see it now that I have the name. I'm better at recognizing 2D art styles. After that it can get shaky depending on well the transition from 2D to 3D was made.

Damn it!
I wanted to see it during the live demo so bad.
Where does this gif come from ?

From this point in the latest trailer.

The thing I worry about with Sawano is whether or not he can compose music that can fit a video game and whether there will be enough quantity and variety at a consistent quality. In other words, I'm not sure if I want him doing all the in-game music.

They never got far enough to show us. They always ended as they arrived at the city.

We heard both the field type music and the battle music.
The field music was very orchestral and serene. The battle music was high energy and vocalized.
They both fit very well and sounded great.

It was hard to hear with the talking, but not sure if I agree. Also, did the music even change at night?

Had no opportunity to watch Treehouse and that trailer in the DE was pretty underwhelming... Anyone have a few bullets on what the story of this game is about? Is it a direct sequel? Also I couldn't tell, whose the main character? Looked like a mute character creator or am I way off?
