Xenoblade X (Cross) releasing in 2015 (Xenoblade Chronicles X in the US)

Probably it is just me but I am not seeing the same game.
Judging by the 720x405 resolution on some of those gifs, those are probably the ones I made last year around E3
EDIT: yep, a few straight from my abload account.
We've already gone through this multiple times in this thread. Its the exact same game. The character models are the same, you just didn't see their faces until now. Nothing has changed outside of the UI. It even has the same problems as that build with pop-in, texture loading and flat 2D grass.
 
Are the gifs in this thread or were they in other threads. The art direction and colour palette is phenomenal btw.

The character models aren't great, need some texture work and overall improvements, especially dat hair. I mean, Lara Craft got better hair and she on PS3 :P

It's a work in progress though, some improvements are bound to be made though; hence the delay into 2015.
Every polygon and every pixel you add to the character is a polygon and a pixel you can't use in the environment. It's easy to say "they should make it prettier", but it's important to realize that it's always a tradeoff: More detailed characters would lead to less detailed environments. And considering the vast environments are an important part of the game's identity, I'd say they've made the right call. After all, you see closeups of the characters' faces for maybe 1% of your game time, but the environments are always there.

has a lot to do with being from a live stream than anything else
color would be one of my complaints though, would love more color in X but I don't think we are getting any unless you like purple hair

Probably it is just me but I am not seeing the same game.

I don't get the human comparisons since they all we've seen is the back of them in earlier trailers. We can't exactly compare the rest since most of them are clearly from areas we haven't seen in this build. The treehouse demo is from the beginning of the game. This is only a single area in a game that, should it's predecessor be any indication, has massive scale. Also keep in mind that time of day and whether conditions will all play a role in how the game looks. I'm certain that if we get the current build they have with the same times and weather conditions, it'll look the same as those trailers.
 
All these gifs/images are killing my shitty hotel internet, but I don't care :p

If the treehouse stream is indicative of how the game looks, I am more than fine with it. Do I wish character models were better? Sure, but I understand that Wii U is limited, and the game looks great considering everything in total.

No need to credit, just a gif of a game I didn't create :P They do hide a lot of imperfections though since they are smaller and I had access to much higher quality trailers last year. Washed out captures of a livestream don't work as well.

Colors are a bit muted and its not as sharp since it is a livestream capture but everything is pretty much the same look wise. You can even see the same giant monster from the 2013 trailer near the waterfall during the day on the Treehouse demo.

The character faces are very stylized and after a year of seeing them only with their backs turned, it caught a lot of people off guard.

I don't think it's been downgraded. Looks the same to me. Perhaps it's just because the more powerful systems had better looking games at this year's E3 that this has lost some if its luster.

I still remember walking towards the beach in Xenoblade, think that there will be an invisible wall like any JRPG I've played. Then boom, I'm already swimming toward the nearby island.

No, you're right, it's a spiritual successor. There's still a XenoBLADE, but the BLADE is no longer a sword. It's an implant or something, and BLADE is an acronym. Other than that, it shares concepts and mechanics with its predecessor. Monolith is basically going the Final Fantasy route.
 
Could someone please capture the Eshop footage, the previous Eshop trailers have been of much better in terms of visual quality compared to what's been available on Youtube.

At the end of the first game, Shulk decided to create a new world. I think this is earth from the second game
 
Haha, I am not complaining ! We got a new xeno game.
I really hope they gonna connect the first and the second with some type of lore through secret missions.

Kinda hoping they make some mind boggling crossover thing that meshs Gears, Saga, and Blade together in some weird Philosophical way.

Even in W101 we got a freaking epic mecha battle up in the heavens. I highly doubt they'd hold back in a game of this scale.

Can remove the mecha part, some obscenely large percentage of JRPGs end up in space at one point or another.

Mecha just boosts it up to 100%.

Rewatching it. The colors from 2013 look more vibrant to me and the clarity in the footage seems higher.

Guess I need to check my eyesight again lol.
Eh, the video feed was higher quality on the initial two trailers. I don't think it's been downgraded. Don't think it's much better either, but OTOH it's pretty awesome so no complaints.

That said, I do think the story trailer sucked. Would've preferred another music video like last time.
