Is it 2015 for Japan too?
I hope the localized release isn't too far off from the initial release.
So I finally unwrapped my copy of Xenoblade Chronicles (preordered it but never got time to play it). Any non-spoilery tips you guys can give me?

How long is the game on average?
Reyn: You can't have a rainbow without Reyn, baby!
Melia: Dunban, I think you need to have a talk with Reyn.
Dunban: No. Let's pretend it didn't happen.

You hit the nail on the head, everytime dunban or shulk get into a fight scene, or the entire party is getting team points in with the epic music blasting, it was such a hell yeah moment.I don't think I was around when that trailer first popped up.
Reading through some stuff someone mentioned something that I hope we get a lot of in X.
And that's the awesome cutscenes. Xenoblade had some of the most badass cutscenes I've seen in a RPG.
Mostly any scene having to do with Shulk or Dunban getting angry and wrecking someone.
Thinking back on that story trailer that was released recently, I don't think we'll have to worry about the game being short on those kinds of scenes.
Maybe I should play Disaster: DoC first, though? .
but can we get that level of awesome cut scene like with xenoblade when the main character in this is silent? You hit the nail on the head, everytime dunban or shulk get into a fight scene, or the entire party is getting team points in with the epic music blasting, it was such a hell yeah moment.
Just picked up a copy of Xenoblade Chronicles from a local gamestop. Now waiting for my pro controller to arrive, using the nunchucks wiimote plus setup to move the camera is a pain.
Played about 80-90% of the game at a friend's place and can't wait to tackle it full on now.
I also hope Xenoblade Chronicles X's music is as good as its predecessor.

anyone want to guess the release month for this game next year?
I would like May 2015
no later
Good job, now you've got me wanting to go back and try Xenoblade again. I got about 2 hours in and stopped because of reasons, but the temptation is too strong now. Maybe I should play Disaster: DoC first, though?
Anything after E3 will be a downpour. They already shown so much of the game.
If you like the work of Hiroyuki Sawano and especially The Kill la Kill Ost (I Feel Xenoblade X vibe especially in this ost) you're in for a treat.
yeah same for JP
if NoA Treehouse already has it in house I am guessing they are already translating
NOE does not seem to be the front runner anymore since NOA has been pushing this since WiiU launch
Also the crashed capsule city being from the US the accents from the last game would not carry over well. I would welcome them tho.
I hope they give it a decent marketting push
It's a literal planetTakahashi did act like Xenoblade was 5% of a game world he would like to make in a game. I can't wait to see how big the game world actually is.
It's a literal planetworth of explorable land.and moon
It's a bit of a misquote, the 5% is more about potential (overall game) than size.Takahashi did act like Xenoblade was 5% of a game world he would like to make in a game. I can't wait to see how big the game world actually is.

Tetsuya Takahashi said:But in terms of my own personal goal-my vision of an ideal game-I'd honestly have to say that it's barely 5% of the way there. My goal is to re-create the world itself. I think it's valuable to always develop projects with such lofty goals in mind.
Lol @ "re-create the world itself." Takahashi's ambition knows no bounds!I think he's referring to scope here. And it's clearly not idle boast.
Yeah, they have showed parts where the player in the mech was flying around WAY high up, not to mention that gif of the player hopping in the mech and flying off from the first trailer. One of the things I'm most excited for in this game. We've seen mechs sort of glide, right? I'd love to be able to fly through this world.
The best part is, that with mechs, you can go anywhere period. Not to mention he wants it to be a seamless open world experience.
They full on fly. No gliding needed. They also have vehicle modes. We've seen mechs sort of glide, right? I'd love to be able to fly through this world.

I would say that XX's scale is batshit fucking insane, but that'd honestly be doing it a disservice. We're looking at a game so big, it makes Xenoblade look like a piddly, little sandbox in comparison. And that's saying a lot.

Where can I get that 2nd image without Player scribbled on it?

I have to wonder if we can explore stuff underwater in the mech's. In more recent RPG's I don't see much to do with delving under the sea as much.
Maybe the demons and beast men are the two races that destroyed earth, and Nopon are the race native to Mira.I wondered that as well. What if our group comes upon a town of friendly natives and hears them tell of a giant capsule that fell out of the sky and landed in the sea? I don't know how many of these city-ships would have crash landed on the same planet, but having to explore underwater to recover survivors, technology, etc. would make for some very atmospheric gameplay. There are just so many possibilities in this scenario. I have to say this is the best concept for an open-world game that I've ever seen.
Also, I know everyone is split on the new character designs, but I haven't heard anyone talk about the demi-human characters that were in the trailer. I assume these are the planet's native people and I imagine there will be some sort of conflict between the humans and the natives as the game progresses. Personally, I love their designs. The cat-like femalethat was attempting to break up the fight with the beast-man and demon-like male piloting the mech in the trailer all looked really interesting, I thought. And this coming from someone who typically hates these type of anthropomorphic designs.(hope she's playable)
I sure hope so. Even if it takes 300 game hours to finish the game in a single playthrough I will really be super duper fine with it!
