Do we know anything of the game's story? Is the main character a silent piece of cardboard ala most create a character games, or is there a set personality, and you pick the body/voice of them, like FE Awakening?

I've gathered up all of the wildlife we've seen thus far in X, and I've attempted to translate their names:
If you spot any errors in my translations or notice that I've missed anything, let me know.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the fauna design in this game is among the best I've ever seen - from a video game or otherwise. My favorites have to be...
...the "amphicoelias" for its dizzying size, its cephalofoil head, and those long, expanding thingamabobs on its back
...that, er... mutant reptile reindeer thing with the moss/some sort of vegetation growing on its back
...the flying thing with all those fins that makes whale noises (reminds me of a "globster" I once saw)
Also, I don't know if you guys have noticed, but the aerial animals (like those prawn-looking things, the whale-like creatures among the former, and the fin-y, whale noise-making things) all look like creatures we'd see inhabiting our waters. I half-expect to run into an alien equivalent of a megalodon when I'll be flying through the skies.
It makes you wonder, too: if the water population is out floating about, what can we expect to be swimming in the oceans?

Why did they decide to name the game Xenoblade Chronicles and not just Xenoblade? Is that what the text underneath the Japanese box art translates to?
edit: I just realized you're referring to the original game. The Japanese under the word Xenoblade is just Xenoblade in Kanji or Katakana or whatever (can't tell them apart, sorry). Xenobureido. Chronicles is strictly for the western markets.
Specifically NA, I don't think the PAL release included Chronicles. Not sure about the new game.
Also, I think the intended pronunciation is "Cross" worldwide, but that will never stick here in NA because nobody will instinctively pronounce X "Cross." It's going to be Xenoblade Chronicles Ex.
Great work, onilink88! You also have this giant floating animal I'm most fascinated with so far. It's in the third pic from below. That thing must be way bigger than the hammerhead dinosaurs.

Oh so Unique monster names are back?
They always cracked me up in the Wii version. Flabbergasted Jerome LOL.
Just bought Xenoblade for cheap YAY (well, 49 bucks).
!!! I wish i could find one at a good price
Is Shulk going to be in this game?
Playing through Xenoblade again currently to hype myself up for X. Hopefully we'll be seeing alot more footage of this game sometime soon!
I'm hoping there are other cities and civilizations to encounter. I'm a little worried that the setting may be a barren planet with only wildlife. It would suck if Neo LA is the only city, but I doubt it. Maybe we go to different planets in the game.
“We decided that it would be perfect to use as a navigation device, in the same way that a lot of tablet computers are,” Takahashi said. “We’ve put some important features relating to the game system and your objectives onto the GamePad, so I feel that this should create a very user-friendly experience for players.”

It's pronounced Xenoblade Chronicle Sex.In the US it's not pronounced cross because Xenoblade Chronicles Cross sounds awkward. I don't know why they added the word Chronicles to the title in the first place. Should've just left it at Xenoblade.
It's pronounced Xenoblade Chronicle Sex.
That sounds like Eww Sex. Just saying. They're going after the Deus Ex demographic.

I have to say, I was already sufficiently hype for X. But now, after starting, and playing 3 hours of, xenoblade chronicles today, I am really excited!
