Xlink drops DS tunneling (is there no one else?!?)

Depressing news, Xlink is now stopping development on tunneling the DS. The announcement came today along with many disappointed DS fans. Team Xlink says that they will stop DS development for now, but who knows whether they will ever start again. Along with this there has been no news of the forgotten Nitro Online and many suspect they will never finish online as well. It seems that after a delay on Demasked, a forgotten Nitro, and now a cancelled Xlink it appears that it will be a long wait before we see the DS online.

dont jump to conclusions. Nintendo never sued warp pipe.

Right, but nintendo never tried to release a comprehensive online system for the cube either.

you better believe that if Nintendo wanted to release a for-pay online matching service, they'd want to shut down any free alternatives.

Nintendo didn't sue Warp Pipe, but they may have sent them a cease and desist letter.

We wouldn't know about it unless the guys at Warp Pipe shared it publicly, which they may have chosen not to.

either that or Xlink didn't want to bother anymore. I read that the PSP was easier to tunnel anyway.

Warp pipe online software is still available for download. That wouldn't be the case if Nintendo sent them a cease and desist letter.

XLink didn't drop the DS. They had problems getting it to work, and temporarily canned their project. They're hoping some serious people like Darkain steps in to help them as far as I understand.

This sounds to me like they got a cease and desist order and because of NDA's and such they couldn't just outright say as much as it would indirectly confirm Nintendo was working on online DS software.
