XSS might not have Raytracing patch for DMC5

Update: its confirmed . No Raytracing for xbox series s.

So capcom just released the video about raytracing and how it will be 4k 30 with RT or 1080p 60 with RT on ps5 and XSX and no patch for xss.

Also on website no mentions of xss has been made .

From the site and video on raytracing :

Capcom video on it :

So I m assuming since its 1080p 60 RT on xsx , xss can't run it .

Funny how PS5 and XSX have the same settings. I thought the XSX was supposed to be a lot more powerful? Is there a 4K/60 option with RT off?

I wrote that the system architect of Xbox was lying when he said there would be parity of games on XSS. A mod deleted my post as "console warring". Dear anonymous mod, you are abusing your power and it seems you have no technical knowledge so you're simply wrong. Stop schooling people who try to contribute to this site and try to warn future customers that they are getting fucked by a dishonest company. Or ban me already, the choice is yours.

Agnostic2020 Agnostic2020 They might have it, the press release says the following:
Players can choose to enable increased frame rates of up to 120 frames per second, play in stunning 4K fidelity on supporting consoles, and experience the added sense of realism offered by the life-like reflections, shadows, and lighting of ray tracing technology. (For the Xbox Series X and Series S versions of the game, ray tracing will be included as part of a downloadable title update.)

It has the patch which makes it 120 fps on xss but the guy in video from capcom mentions raytracing only for ps5 and xsx and the site only lists it for xsx and ps5 .specifically removing xss
Yeah, but in their press statement they clearly say that it is included. So we don't know yet really, since their messaging is mixed.

Where is capcom CONFIRMATION? I don't get what's with the "for sure, but not so sure", thread titles after the conference earlier.

At some point we are all gonna reach the conclusion thar the series s isnt meant for people looking for the premium experience that series x, pc, or ps5 provide. Its cheaper and people buying it probably wont even have tvs capable of anything more.

RT is not invisible on 1080p TV and it was MS that promised a full next-generation experience with the XSS.

Oh its gonna be fully next gen as in plays next gen games. But if anyone thinks they are gonna get the same performance from these two consoles, they need their head examined.

I do not expect 4K, same visual features?Based on what MS promised yes, realistically we know the situation is not as clear as that.

Um, I think this thread jumped to conclusions. There's a press release for DMC 5, and it says both Series X and Series S will support RT (but not out of the box, oddly... what's with all the Xbox RT being a download feature?)

**For the Xbox Series X and Series S versions of the game, ray tracing will be included as part of a downloadable title update.

Was there a correction for this release posted?

Yea after the press release , they changed the website and uploaded a video where they don't mention xss for raytracing

Maybe they will clarify it soon ?

Looks like MS is going towards another marketing disaster with the XSS.

"Hey, it's a new generation console, but not really"

Those who were saying the same as XSX but at 1440 or 1080, and those who were saying something about desktop devs, start cooking the crow.

We still don't know what graphics settings will be used and resolution will be dynamic or cbr.

DF will point out the differences but they not gonna be huge. Gap is there but not huge.

Gap is 20% and imo we will see around 20% better res (like dynamic on ps5 with minium dropping to 20% lower ) . Thays just my theory of course. We will see vs videos soon

This thread title needs updating. In fact this thread should never have existed.

Before you start ejaculating, nothing has been confirmed with this, in fact the press release says otherwise.
Plus it was Microsoft themselves that were the ones saying same games at same setting but lower resolution. And i'm sure that will probably be the case with first party games. Third party devs can do what they want though.

And there are still people out there who think that the only differences XSS will have with XSX and PS5 will be the resolution! :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Yes, this is what will hurt MS. They market the XSS as "the same as XSX but lower res", but that won't be the case I think. The cut-down RAM and GPU will hurt performance in more ways than "just" a resolution drop.

I also think most people who buy a XSS won't mind and don't even notice - it's part of the target-audience IMO: it's not for the enthusiast, it's more for the casual gamer. Which is totally fine!

The XSS is a budget 4TF console. Were people really expecting graphical parity just at a lower resolution?

The real story here is RT requiring so many consessions on the higher end consoles. 1080p was a bit of a surprise for me. I guess AMD is still well behind NVidia where it comes to ray tracing.

This 10000%.

I don't even know why folks didn't just see how it went this gen with XONE X. Having more power doesn't mean a developer will spend more time / money adding fancy features to your system. They will do bare minimum and move on as we saw with lots of 3rd party games on both PS4 Pro and XONE X.
