Just finished 0 last night and it was one hell of a ride. Those Majima scenes made the man tears flow. Great game and I'm glad more people are fitting into the series.
I doubt labels apply to KiryuYakuza 2 kinda shows that he isn't.
Yakuza 2 kinda shows that he isn't.
doesn't he do some borderline gay stuff in the samurai spinoffs?
Noooo. Not at all....
you're right. that ain't borderline. that is...gay.
When it comes to weapon durability, why do some weapons have pink numbers and some only have blue numbers? What do they mean exactly?
As much as I love Kiryu, I will admit that they make him too much of a paragon of virtue at times. "Which is exactly why Rikiya was SO WELL DONE in Yakuza 3. He felt like the "younger country bumpkin" version of Kiryu, only funnier.

i kinda wonder sometimes is kiryu actually gay?
I do wonder if they will ever move from the staple story tropes of the series ofsomeone gets shot from off screen but is fine by 2 cutscenes later. And that no matter how complicated or ingenious your master plan is, fists will prevail at the end.
At some point the drama moments feel like nothing because it's so predictable lol.
Wow this thread...really getting me hyped. I need a month off of work!!
while most of the time i would agree about this trope, did you play Yakuza 5?

He is,Isn't he living with a girl in 5? Can't remember her name right now. Yakuza 1 spoilers:His first love (Yumi) hurt him though, didn't it? Don't think he ever recovered from it really.
Having a daughter figure in Haruka also probably makes the notion of finding another flame more challenging than it is.
Either way, he's approaching 50 in Yakuza 6 already. Not an impossible age to find another flame, but also already past the peak of his life.
I felt like that at first but then switching back to majima after starting your businesses was like going from winning the lottery every 10 minutes to being on benefits.
Speaking of which I have the initial district maxed out, and by god the rest of the city is so fucking expensive, whats the next district to tackle?
Just started the real estate minigame, does it get any more complex? Seems really simplistic, just raise the meters and collect.
now you stop that, yakuza 5 is way more than just *gunshot* *thud*Well you see, the thing about that is *gunshot* *thud*
I never heard the music stop.

How much of my time is gonna be taken up by the real estate and night club businesses?
time for another remote play sesh at work
The events of Yakuza 1 really do a number on him, and turn him into Kazama levels of badassery.
Difference in the future games is that unlike Kazama,he wants to get out of the Yakuza life and stay out. It's always the circumstances or the legacy he's built for himself already that keeps coming back to haunt him.
But yeah, the general lack of depth to this character has been there since forever. It's why Yakuza 4 felt like such a breath of fresh air by bring 3 new protagonists into the mix, 1 of which cracked jokes like nobody's business. Hell, Akiyama literally had an ability where you could grab an enemy and then taunt, and he had separate taunting animations depending on the distance/position the enemy was.

Do you guys think there is a possibility that Yakuza 3-5 gets ported to the PS4? I've played 3 and 4, but never had the chance to with 5 since I had sold my PS3 by that point.
