Definitely, was blown away from the start about everything. Kamurocho in the 80s, the attention to detail in the cut scenes (you can see the imperfections in their necks from shaving!) and most importantly the frame rate. Sadly I'm playing in 1080p in the games room because the 4K telly in the lounge is constantly in use till its too late to move the console. Still, can't complain really.
Loving the new Rush fight style, it's my preferrnstyle with Kiryu atm, just feels so fluid and satisfying especially against the first boss. I'm now up to Chapter 2 on the Real Estate Broker hunt.
1080p TV is probably better because its native? When I watch 1080p stuff on my 4k TV it doesn't look as good, but that might just be my TV.
I love that Kamurocho has so much detail everywhere and it can be easily seen in Yakuza 0 now that its got a bump up in resolution. Just walking down the street, there's so many objects, and signs and things to look at everywhere, I never get tired of it. Most other games don't have this type of detail in their games at all, it reminds me of the level of detail in The Division, but the art direction is really weird in that game, just feels like there's not much variety in that one, and everything is just trashed.
just finished yakuza 0. my first yakuza game. it might be the best game ive ever played.
the level of storytelling was incredible. are all the yakuza games like this? i know #1 remaster is coming out in a week or so. are they going to remaster all the older ones?
Haha me too. It might be the best game I've ever played as well. They really nailed the story telling in this one.
They are all like this in terms of concept - brawler/mafia story, but 0 was much better than the rest for me.
Yakuza 1 was great, no complaints there.
Yakuza 2 didn't really feel like a big jump up for me, but a LOT of people think this is the best one or on par with 0.
Yakuza 3 starts a little slow but the last half is pretty great.
Yakuza 4 was about the closest it got to in terms of storytelling being as good as 0.
Yakuza 5 is a decent game, but its probably too long for its own good, its probably a mixed reaction here, but most fans still like it.
Definitely play the remake, it'll be a lot of fun.
There's an announcement from the Yakuza team on the 26th August, so lets wait and see if they announce more remakes? No idea at this stage.
