Why is this thread worthy? This is the most obvious statement I've ever read.
We said the same thing about digital games. and look were we are now.I'm having a hard time believing that anything related to cloud gaming can replace local hardware like the Switch offers.
A tablet with a controller and xCloud is already light years beyond what the Switch can offer. That thing is the worst piece of hardware on the market.I'm having a hard time believing that anything related to cloud gaming can replace local hardware like the Switch offers.

Technology evolves at a rabid speed.
5 years ago, mobile werent that strong, like they are now. In 3-5 years from now, they will get even stronger than what they are now. Same for cloud gaming.
I played fortnite xbox, using a browser, in the form of cloud gaming. That is how far we are in the technology space.
Its always the 1st steps that counts.Maybe, but we're not there yet, neither in technology or service. Pretty much every service out there is barebone. xCloud allowing you to play every Xbox game you own in the cloud is pretty much the first real step.

There would be no iPhone without Nokia and blackberry.
Xcloud is the step up of what we have now, which lays the foundation for the future.
Having fortnite on xcloud, without subscription fee is the huge game changing, like how smart phones had their 1st keyboard touch screen. This means more f2p games will jump on the service.
We are getting there slowly, with new consoles being the center power for these cloud infrastructure.
We come a long way from OnLive.
Its free, which honestly should have been that way for a long time.I didn't realize they had bypassed the sub for Fortnite access, very pro-consumer move there.
Hard to believe that with 5g you had a bad experience, unless it's not a true 5g connection (5g dss or something like this)I tried this and was playing a pdf presentation, even with a 5g phone. So I guess it depends where you live.
