You have to order an absolutely absurd AAAA game - what do you tell them to make?

Remake the original vision of Peter Molyneux's Fable but have it all just be an elaborate political campaign that is meant to be used as promotional material for election season.

Universe of Starcraft, a next generation persistent online world with multiple classes, factions, and loot mechanics. Use blockchain to create an economy of weapons, gears, and vehicles with real digital scarcity--but critically, this scarcity/rarity system will not affect stats. For instance, a Legendary rifle Deathsight is scarce to drop, but every Deathsight that drops has the same stats, but their cosmetics have unique variations a la CS2's wear ratings.

Each major planet has pvp battlefields, quest hubs, and group dungeons. Deep space missions are procedurally generated dungeon crawls like Diablo rifts.

Make a game with an already established franchise, or make a werewolf game.

An incredibly complex, deep, simulation where you terraform new worlds and can control all aspects of the solar system.

How big and hot the sun or suns is, where the planets are, how many moons they have, the planets compositions, etc. You can fast forward and rewind thousands of years at a time in order to see what, if any, life evolves on your planet. As life does start to develop you can go all the way down to the level of the insects or all the way back out of the atmosphere. You can see how the animals live, how weather affects them, how weather systems develop naturally, watch herds of large mammals roam across the land.

The ultimate goal is to set everything up correctly so that over time your planet develops intelligent life that then becomes sentient and intelligent enough to create a civilization.

You can watch and control the primitive intelligence from what we would typically consider cavemen all the way up to planetary explorers. At any point you can take control of the creatures and eventually the intelligent life. At that point all new gameplay systems open up where you can guide the civilization forward and out into the sta
Sounds like from the Holy Trinity's perspective, fuck yea very good read

Titanfall 3, still has an awesome campaign like Titanfall 2 but multi-player is fortnite-ified. Bunch of cameos from other games, celebrity cameos, etc. And add tons of skins for both the pilot and titans.
This. Make it fucking epic. Epic score, epic single player, tf 1,2 and apex characters. Great multiplayer, cinematics, everything.

I got this really CRAZY idea. It's insane. It's like so complex yet so simple.
It involves is asking a question, extremely low effort. It's probably the most serious discussion in gaming.

A game where you can explore the entire world, enter every house, and play every video game in those houses.

That's the game I dreamed of as a child.

Fallout 5
Elder Scrolls VI
Starcraft Ghost
Resident Evil X
Final Fantasy IX Remake

If those don't count and it has to be something very different than I'll go for a 80s verse type of game using elements from Wax Work 2 Lost in Time, Cyborg 2,Gremlins, Labyrinth, Commando. Aliens etc featuring badass 80s actors and actresses like John Claude, Arnold, Winoa Ryder, Jennifer Connelly etc.

What Eternal Crusade set out to be before Miguel Carron ran away with the money, but with more of everything.

Like, Planetside 40k, but even bigger. Hundreds of players participating in battles all over a planet, all factions are represented, huge tank battles, Titans, space battles in orbit.

It should be a game where enemies get wounded and behave like real people who foremost are trying to survive instead of being an easy target.

I think AI may somehow proximate this dream.

1) AAAA standalone Pokemon parody JRPG by the Yakuza team. Fully voice acted. Great new minigames, highly detailed.

2) Huge RPG like Baldurs Gate 3 but story and direction by Eric Andre and Tim Robinson. Modern era.

Edit: Animal Crossing but it's Dead or Alive characters and graphics.

Red Dead Redemption 3

Edit: Oh sorry OP, you said "absurd game" so in that case I'd order Tom Hanks in The Terminal where he's stranded at JFK airport and it's an utterly extreme simulation of the entire airport up to the greatest possible detail level. You play as Tom eating leftover food and returning shopping carts for quarters to safe up money to survive. Tom's character is from Krakozhia and doesn't speak English, so you can't have meaningful conversations with anyone at the airport.
The Terminal was a hidden gem of a movie.

A game like MGSV, with all the cut content and features, npcs and bosses, chapter 3 taking place in Zanzibar, a full on base building mode where you build up Outer Heaven etc etc. Its absurd because we almost had it…

Tom & Jerry GAAS mutliplayer.

Asymetric deathmatch, 4 mice against 1 cat. The mice set up traps to fuck up the cat and also have weapons like oversized baseball bats, frying pans and anvils with the ACME logo. The cat has tons of shit at his dispossal like mice traps and all kinds of dumb shit.

5 years in production, $200M budget. $80 on release, cat not included.
This sounds like a legit good idea that could be done by a small studio on a shoestring budget.
Indie devs make games that gross higher than triple A in a cave with a box of scraps.

I loved discovering this movie on TBS. But honestly an Untitled Goose Game equivalent of the Terminal would be so fun.

You'd basically want a never ending game or a GaaS to justify the development. Initially I'm against the idea, but I've wanted a PlayStation All-Stars 2 for over a decade now. I think you kinda combine that with PlayStation Home and you've got it made.

I think the coolest approach would be to take a Smash Bros. Ultimate + Fortnite + Disney Infinity.

You take the best PlayStation Studios: Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Sucker Punch, Santa Monica, Media Molecule, Team Asobi, XDev and a couple outsiders like Bandai Namco for the platform fighting mechanics and online connectivity.

At the base level you have your party fighter standard with every character they never had like Crash Bandicoot & Spyro the Dragon, Astro Bot, etc. They flesh out the Rivals campaigns for each character, but beyond that they take on All-Star Mode/Space Emissary/World of Light.

Each studio is going to design vertical slices and worlds that use their assets, characters. You have a create a character mode where you can make your own avatar in the style of many PlayStation characters or choose one the large roster and you can go on missions in their worlds.

Then there is a kart racing mode where you can all those characters. FPS and 3rd Person Battle Royale with weapons from all the franchises.

Update the game seasonally with content, user created levels alongside major expansions or things that coincide with PS Studio game launches.

It could act like a hub to learn about other PS games with museums, info, BTS, demos of games, arcade versions of older titles with leaderboards. Just an awesome way to continue celebrating the games in between sequels or after franchises have been left behind like Resistance, Jak & Daxter, Sly Cooper, Uncharted, and Infamous.

I'd make a UE5 graphic game that's heavily modded so that it barely runs in even a 5090 (but of course port it to the Xbox Series S as well as other consoles). The game would be licensed with all David Bowie music about a dog that's made of diamonds. The ray tracing would be intense, with each diamond doing its own thing and tracing the rays off of another diamond and so on.

It would play like Knack in it's genericness and a deep story from Kojima. You'll hide in boxes at a dog pound and try to escape. The dog catcher known as the Big Boss will chase you with a net. Buy the digital deluxe edition and you'll get a purple net that means absolutely nothing.

To make sure its AAAA, it'll be the first live service single player game that's cancelled days after release.

Scarlet Johansson will voice act a cat, poorly (as usual given her acting talent), and the game will be significantly over budget. I'll also get Troy Baker to play the Diamond Dog as David Bowie. Well then AI over his voice with a David Bowie AI model.

It'll have tons of collectibles so you'll never want to finish it.

Did I win a loan, OP?

I want a do-over of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

i didn't want them to turn it into a different game, and then stretch it out across three releases to milk it for cash. Fuck off.

I wanted the equivilant of the RE4 remake, or the Demons Souls remake. I wanted the same camera angles and turn-based combat system, but with modernized graphics, full remakes of all the original music, quality voice acting, etc. The original script was clunky, so update some of the dialogue and make all the flashback stuff more clear.

Open world Vampire game, but you are the vampire turning others and growing your pack.

GTA world quality + Days Gone AI.
Turning humans directly impacts whatever world job they have, and other areas of their lives such as putting their own family at risk. Each have their own stats such as intelligence which can impact their survival, your goal is to keep your numbers up and take over each section of the city strategically, gaining new resources in the process.

A game where there's the most utterly realistic reproduction of Hideo Kojima's naked body, down to every single skin pore, and you can do every possible benign thing to it, with absolutely realistic reactions from it. You can't cut, slash, penetrate or otherwise ruin the integrity of the body, but you can dress, caress, fondle, slap, bruise, poke, shave the body at your will. You can pluck single strands of hair from it, twist its nose, tickle its feets, cut its fingernails, paint it, whatever, and it reacts accordingly. You have the option to have everything you do commentated by David Hayter's voice, with tens of thousands of different possible comments.

An MMO that actually feels like a real world.

The way you accomplish this is by appealing to all kinds of players. And i dont mean like they do now where that only means something for solo players, something for collectors etc. Ultimately you still have to like a very specific type of game.

With unlimited resources, manpower and time, i would just make a world, and everyone would be part of the world, but the world would be full of actual feature complete games in it's own right. Like fighting games? Go the the arena and play the fighting game, like racing games? go to the racing tracks and play our racing sim, arcade racer, or kart game. Like farm games? Just play that, just want to be a merchant? There is an entire game for you too. Those wouldn't be lite versions of said game types. They all be full games, with multiple game modes, ranked systems etc. You would only install the parts you want to play. You would earn currency in all those games that you could then spend in the 'outside' world. On your character, land, housing, whatever.

Two AA games in the vein of Clair Obscur.

If I HAVE to do an AAAA game give me a space opera that is an actual good spiritual successor to Mass Effect.

Make a real opponent for gta6.

We have so very few city located open worlds game that i'm surprised nobody tried to copy gta lately.
GTA but in a pretty standard fantasy D&D world. Roll your character with sex/race/class/background options.
Depending on your selections you get different unique story beats and objectives not found in the general story, each gives a few lore nuggets so the YT lore nerds have to play it 100s of times (it's time to eat shit VaatiVidya!), i.e. playing a Rogue with a poor orphan background or a scion of nobility play out very differently. They get very different dialogue options (similar to Cyberpunk 2077). Playing a rat or lizard race forbids you from entering certain cities or limits you to the sewers & slums. Elves get side-eyed in Dwarf areas.

A large landmass similar to GTAV's with an Underdark type setting and different elemental/divine planes.
Yeah, this would probably require an AAAA budget and I haven't even thought about followers.

Sound good but fantasy\medieval open worlds are way more common than just a realistic, modern city.

My idea was pretty specific exactly because other than watch dogs (that is probably not gonna have a 4th game) we don't have many gta style games.

Rockstar take 10+ years between gta games so you have an open field.

World of Warcraft 2:

Original devs are on board and hungry.

Alternative timeline (because magic or sth).

Cataclysm never happened.

Living and breathing game world.

No quests. Explore the world and see what happens.

No levels. It's always about the journey.

No flying mounts. Never.

No mercy. Enjoy the open PvP bloodshed.

Savage Horde vs Alliance fighting.

Violent. Intense. Raw.

Graphics like Warlords of Draenor cinematic trailer.

Zero input lag.

Runs on a toaster.
