Good to see there's some food left on the GBA's plate. Though, I still want that new, original Mario platformer.

So...no Mario Tennis Advance? Camelot has to be working on SOMETHING, for cripes sake.

See Scrabble makes me think that there needs to be more board games and game shows on the DS. Like, on Jeopardy, you actually WRITE YOUR NAME. They should totally make "Ken Jennings' Jeopardy" where you face off against Ken Jennings. That'd be awesometastic.

I digress. Picking up Minish Cap, likely skipping the rest.

I heard NA is getting extra stuff in the Minish Cap for all the pain and suffering for having to wait a couple extra months! Do we know what this extra stuff is yet?

Probably Golden Sun DS I'd imagine. Mario Tennis Advance might still be coming though, it'd be relatively simple since they already have most of the assets from Mario Golf.

They're actually releasing Harvest Moon for girls in the US?
Yep, both the GC & GBA versions.

Definite Buys

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (Nintendo)
MegaMan Anniversary Collection (Capcom)
Wario Ware Twisted! (Nintendo)
Pirate Battle (Orbital Media)
Fire Emblem II (Nintendo

Possible Buys:

Super Army Wars (Atlus) What is this?
Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tornament (Namco)
Pokemon Emerald (Nintendo)

Pretty damn good year, but where the hell is Mother 1+2?

You and I both.

It's funny how long Payback has been in development, only to be completely overshadowed by the DS's 3D capabilities.

Holy Shit. Scrabble GET!

EDIT: Oh and props to crazymoogle etc. for the dates and everything, I hadn't seen those. Congrats, I will be giving Pirate Battle a looksee

I'll take those, thanks.

Not bad at all. Finally got used to the buttons on the DS for Minish Cap, you guys are in for a treat with that one. Looks like all my GBA gaming will be on the DS.

No sign of Yoshi's Universal Gravitation?

Bah, this stinks. Still some good games left for the GBA but you can tell the DS (and the looming PSP) are cutting development resources short. The little handheld had a good run, but it would have been much better if it wasn't ended early. I fear for the future of 2D games, the GBA was the last bastion of hope.

The original GameBoy lasted 11 years... GBA will last what, 5?

Yeah, if anything comes out in 2006. Will probably be very slim pickings by then.

Yep, but I'm a little sceptical about it's release date. The original date for the Girl version was November (along with Natsume's Chulip Ps2 game) but both were mysteriously postponed until "january". There's no data on Natsume's official site and EB appears to be the only retailer that has it in their computer system.

I'm thinking another postponement is on its way, especially since the game is less than a month away from it's supposed release date :) I don't mind a postponement since that'll give me more time to finish the girl-version of my FoMT site :lol

10 The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (Nintendo) - Already own the JP and UK versions. Kinda curious about the US one, especially if they fix the bugs from the UK one.

15 MegaMan Anniversary Collection (Capcom) - Definitely want this.

28 Ace Combat Advance (Namco) - Might want this. Anyone know who's developing it?

28 Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tornament (Namco) - Never got the JP one, so I may as well get this.

07 Mario Party Advance (Nintendo) - Probably gonna buy this.

21 Wario Ware Twisted! (Nintendo) - Already own this.

-- Pac-Man Pinball (Namco) - Maybe? If it's really, really good?

10 Pokemon Emerald Version (Nintendo) - Probably gonna buy this eventually, though I'm all Pokemon'ed out again.

-- Fire Emblem II (Nintendo) - Definitely, definitely, definitely. Have they confirmed which one this is going to be yet? (6 or 8?)

-- Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (Disney) - Loved the book. The game will probably suck, but we'll see.

-- Donkey Kong: King of Swing (Nintendo) - Looks like it might be fun. Might buy it.

If NoA had any intention of ever bringing FE6 over here, I'm 95% sure that it would have been announced a long time ago. Like, last E3. We'll see, though.

There's more substance there than I would have thought. Thank you for the list. I see the GBA isn't quite done yet. :)

I cannot believe Mythri is actually coming out. Is that for real? I've been following its progress since its GBC days.

Those damn tennis and golf titles should be handled by someone else so Camelot is free to do its own games.

June 2005
-- Fire Emblem II (Nintendo)

Oh, the anticipation will KILL ME. I thought it was like a February release! Crap!

First off. I MISSED YOU JARROD.

Second off...

January 2005
10 The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (Nintendo)

February 2005
28 Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tornament (Namco)

March 2005
07 Mario Party Advance (Nintendo)
21 Wario Ware Twisted! (Nintendo)
-- Pirate Battle (Orbital Media)

April 2005
10 Pokemon Emerald Version (Nintendo)

June 2005
-- Fire Emblem II (Nintendo)

tba 2005
-- MegaMan Battle Network 5 (Capcom)
-- SNK Vs Capcom (SNK Playmore) (?)

Most anticipated goes to.... Klonoa 2!

Anyone know what NES Series 3 is? And if it's coming here? I imagine if the Series 3 games were released in US (the NES ones), then they'll come here next year for GBA.

I hate this third pillar thing; how am I supposed to keep up with games? Argh. I have no money. I don't know how people do it that own GBA, DS, GCN, Xbox, and PS2.

How do we do it ?
You buy the system but only ever get 1 game for each console and never have time to play anything... that's how :(

Or you could just be like most regular non gaming people, buy one system, play games for it every once in a while and not worry about havinmg to get every game that gets a 9 from reviews on every system.

I haven't bought a GBA game since Excitebike :( I do have Final Fantasy 1+2 sitting around unopened, but I'm still not sure I care to try it. I still need to get Mario Golf and Kirby & The Amazing Mirror though.

For my money, this is what I'm looking forward to in 2005:
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
CT: Special Forces 3
Pokemon Emerald (I haven't played any of the GBA Pokemons, and I'm quite looking forward to picking this up)
Fire Emblem II
DK: King of Swing

Maybe Wario Ware Twisted, Racing Gears Advance and Klonoa 2.

Edit: Oh, and Yoshi's Universal Gravitation and the second Custom Robo game. If they don't come over, I'll be importing.

That's what's happening. I feel like I'm missing out on so much.

Jarrod: You've been missed.

Looks like that'll be it for me. Man, the FE series is gonna be even more fucked up than the FF series during the Nintendo days.

This'll make 2005 the first year where I'm not salivating over the GBA lineup (I already have Minish Cap). Doesn't matter really. There are about 50 superb titles I have yet to play.

SNK vs. Capcom? whiskey tango foxtrot?

Any pics or info on that yet?

*prays that it's like MOTM on NGPC*
Not yet... but I'd expect something more along the lines of SVC Chaos, given how KOFEX1-2 turned out. SD fighter conversions seemed popular on GB, WS & NGP but most GBA fighters seem to go for full sized.

Is this the Metal Slug-lookin' game that just came out in Japan? Anyone know if it turned out all right?
Probably. All we know is it's an action game and Atari hasn't revealed the developer yet. I think it's a safe bet.

The original GB lasted about 10 years, GBC about 4 years and GBA looks like 5 years probably. Increased competition (first from SNK & Bandai, now from Sony & Nokia) have just sped up the process. Nintendo can't afford to ride GBA for 10 years like the did GB (thank god).

And don't worry about 2D so much, most DS games are 2D in fact (not to mention a decent amount of PSP games also). Nintendo actually pushed DS as primairily a 2D machine I believe to developers as well (though obviously it's capable of decent 3D also, unlike GBA).

Nintendo's only revealed their lineup for the first half of 2005. I expect we'll likely get Yoshi, F-Zero Climax, Mother 3, Custom Robo, DKC3, NES Classic Series 3 and some others in the back half.
