Talk Talk - Laughing Stock Virtually ignoring it upon my first listen with its spare arrangements, and natural calm, hardly enticing my 'Odelay', 'Pinkerton' pop spasms, I accidentally stumbled upon 'After the Flood' on my computer again and was moved by its ambience and organ catharsis. Unquestionably one of the greatest, most eerily beautiful record of the 90's. There are many sections in the album which are just powerful.
Paul McCartney - Ram People dismiss this as ear candy? Ok, the album doesn't vow for the message-oriented inspiration of rival Lennon at the time, but it's perfectly constructed, ramshackle pop which shows off Paul's pre-eminent compositional talents. If only everybody could 'throw away' material like 'Heart of the Country'.
