Woman charged after locking toddler in car
Stamford-AP, July 26, 2005 6:56 AM) _ Stamford police have arrested a woman after she accidentally locked her 23-month-old son in her hot car and then allegedly refused to let rescuers break the window to free him.

Forty-two-year old Susan Guita Silverstein was charged with reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a minor yesterday.

Police say the boy was "nonresponsive" when he was removed and had spent more than 20 minutes in the car before the window was smashed open.

He was taken to Stamford Hospital for precautionary measures and was treated and released.

Now there's a woman that has her priorities straight.

"What are you doing asshole...this is the ES package!11"

Sounds like a pretty clear open-and-shut sizzler case, with the novel twist of locking the keys in the car. That being said, windows are expensive to repair and I can see how she would rather have the rescue workers enter the car without busting it up.

God I hope you never have kids.

That snippet is way too short to draw any conclusions. They make it sound like she was standing in front of the cops trying to stop them from saving her baby. Cops get really happy whenever they think they have a reason to be violent. Be it breaking a car window first and asking questions later or emptying 55+ rounds of ammo into one suspect and killing a baby in the house behind him.

That said I don't necessarily doubt the way the story is worded. Some chick had her hair braided in a beauty shop for four hours, IIRC *two* of her kids died in the car.

me and the wife have called the cops on a person that has done this... damn sad how some people dont think about thier children first

I wish that 50% of the people who had kids didn't have kids. I may have horrific personal values, but at least I know enough to know that I'd hate kids and view them as a nuisance more than a person, even if they were my own, and their lives would be incredibly shitty without a good father.

But yeah-this lady was clearly trying to pull a sizzler-I mean, if the kid was, say, 6 months old I wouldn't be too convinced. But once they hit that two-year mark they stop being so cute and precious and become uncontrollable, manipulative little semen demons unless you're serious about laying down the law with them.

You know the wrong parents. My two year old says "excuse me" when she needs by you or wants your attention; "please" when she wants something, and "thank you" whenever you give her anything at all. She does what she's told, she listens, she communicates. I get compliments everywhere I take her on how good she is and what a good mother I must be. It blows my mind.

You know what we did? Honestly? We lived up to our promises. If I said "touch that one more time and you are going to bed" I put her ass in bed if she touched it. If I said "throw a fit like that again and I will take you to the car and beat you" I damn well did it. It isn't fun punishing babies. They are cute and they get so butthurt. But you *have* to do it.

Having seen many, many unwed mothers, I count myself lucky that I had the chance to realize that was the main problem with kids today. That and structure. Give your kids structure and discipline and they will be happy, healthy and well behaved.

If there were more parents like you, I'd have a lot less hate in my life. That kid is going to go on to do good things with their lives, and it's because you took the time to properly parent. Hats off-that's one of the toughest things in the world to do, and I know that as a society, we appreciate it.
