Post your most memorable moments of 2025. This can include anywhere from games you loved, to funny clips, to goated multiplayer moments.

- This year I found the most enjoyment from completing games from my backlog. I rarely do this because of gaming ADD, but that's changed and I found actually completing games to be so fun. Who'd have thought?

- Came back to Sekiro after years of avoiding it. This one is recent, but I'm finally at the final boss. Feels so good to overcome a challenge I never thought I'd git gud enough

- Returning to Sekiro also made me play Lies of P again. Not as hard as I remember but super enjoyable and I beat it last week 9/10 for me

- Another return in KCD1 which I beat and then beating KCD2 the month after. Both were amazing story experiences and the combat is so unique (though I actually prefer KCD 1)

- I, like many others, didn't get the appeal of Death Stranding, but something drew me back to it. It's very quirky and I still understand why many people don't like it. But as someone who loves to game while listening to podcasts it was a perfect chill experience. Can't wait to try the next one.

- Enjoying Battlefield 6 and I have 150 hours sunk into it. I still suck, but it's enjoyable. Most fun I've had in FPS multiplayer since BF1

2026 Goals:
- Beat Bloodborne
- Get a Switch or Switch 2 so I can finally play Bayonetta 2 and 3
- Create my ultimate gaming setup in my new house with my future wife

A few highlights:

1) With great joy introduced a friend to and watched him stream playing Persona 3/4/5. Shared the highs and lows of the games with him, and watched the Persona 3 movies and Persona 4 anime together as well.

2) Amazing fun moments of explosive gameplay with me and my two buddies playing as engineers in BF6. We ruled the map in tank with coordinated gameplay and the skies in the Helis. Amazing game and amazing comeback for the franchise (was soured on 2042 with initial launch hero-shooter design, never played it).

3) No-lifed Diablo 3 with a friend for 3 weeks straight. It was my first introduction to Diablo, and what a blast it was compared to the massive dissappointment that was D4 that we played immediately afterwards.

4) Played through a number of more chill and relaxing games with a different friend, including: Grounded, Minecraft, Lightyear Frontier, Anno 1800, Voidtrain, Forza Horizon 5.

I played: Stellar Blade, Wukong (both are souls-lites), Lies of P, Dark Souls 3, Wuchang, a bit of Khazan (still need to finish it), and I'm currently doing another run through of Elden Ring. I stopped before beating the game previously so now I want to beat it and take care of the DLC. I'm currently on Astel, Naturalborn of the Void, who I remember beating in my previous playthrough, but I'm having a difficult time with the boss now.

Still haven't tackled Sekiro yet, but it's in my backlog.

My other big highlights were:

- Xenoblade Chronicles X. I absolutely love this game and hope that some sort of sequel to it comes out for the Switch 2.

- Trails in the Sky: 1st Chapter. My second favorite game of 2025. (Wuchang take the top spot). Looking forward to 2nd Chapter late 2026 and Trails Beyond the Horizon in January.

- Discovering my love of Metroidvanias and Roguelikes. The Metroidvanias in particular, seem to go hand in hand with the Soulslikes.

Goals for 2026:

More Soulslikes, starting with Code Vein 2 and Nioh 3.
Finally Playing Rogue Trader.
Getting Caught up on Trails

I totally forgot about Stellar Blade!! Beat that one too and it's so good. Even had a few bosses give me a good challenge. I also recommend Wuchang (nvm I saw it on there lol)

And welcome to the souls like games. It totally changed the reason I play games in 2021 when I beat DS3. I do it for the challenge now.

-I rediscovered how great turn-based tactical games can be when I played Gears Tactics in January. Have been looking for similar games from the past twenty years for most of this year.

-I finally picked up a pair of real TriOviz glasses to try out on my collection of 3D games for my 360. Unfortunately, it's ultimately not all that great. The effect is too subtle to warrant wearing them for a full playthrough of anything. But I'm glad I finally crossed that off my todo list.

-I wired my property for ethernet everywhere. No more wireless issues.

Still remaining: Buy myself an irresponsibly large subwoofer for Christmas.

- Finding out about Dragon's Dogma Online being revived and having a real good time playing it
- Some new releases being very, very good games, like KCD2 and Silksong
- Some unexpected fun with Fantasy Life i which I didn't have on my radar at all
- Playing and beating Thief for the first time ever. Amazing game

I wish I could go back and play all of those games again for the first time.

My favorite is P4, followed by 3. It holds a special place in my heart. Played it during the height of covid when it came on steam. Was going through some shit back then.

I have a special list of "Games I could forget and replay" as well, its definitely one of them.

Getting lost in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered after decades of bouncing off the original and Skyrim.

Hitting treasure boxes, destroying buildings, and exploding while driving around in Deliver At All Costs.

Discovering the awesomeness of Project Justice in Capcom Fighting Collection 2.

Discovering my new favorite level for skating in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4.

Reigniting my interest in Mortal Kombat after picking up Jax in Mortal Kombat 2 inside Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection.

Experiencing the realized greatness that Duke Nukem 3D fell slightly short of with Voxel Mod.

Finally getting the definitive version of Virtua Fighter 5 with World Stage.

Seeing that pixel art and run n' guns have continued to evolve past the 16-bit era with Neon Inferno.

Kicking ass and taking names as Billy and Jimmy Lee in River City Girls 2.

Hopefully we get more uncompromising titles like these.

Played this recently and was a bit mind blown, an amazing remaster of Starflight for the Genesis.

I looked for modern alternatives but there's not much, Star Control: Origins and stuff seem bleh.

I guess the best we have is still Star Control II (The Ur-Quan Masters for free), Space Rangers 2, Escape Velocity Nova and other such oldies. Maybe Rebel Galaxy but that went too combat/grind heavy too. We'll see how the SC creators' crowd funded Free Stars: Children of Infinity will turn out too...

Yeah this was a pretty watered down year especially. I'm hoping things get better. Personally I'm really excited for Lords of the Fallen 2 and maybe GTA 6 if it actually exists lol. I didn't care much for 5, but I do think the gta series tends to inspire innovation to other studios.

- The prologue of Clair Obscure, amazing storytelling. Few games set the tone like this. 10/10

- The fight against Eigong, Nine Sols's final boss, one of the best of any videogame, and also one of the hardest.

- Also in Nine Sols, the emotional path that leads to that final boss. The story reaches a gravitas that I didn't expect. It's brilliant.

- Silksong is filled with epic and incredible moments: the start of the third act, the escape from the abyss and the final battle all left me in awe.
