Second Sight, was just the right kind of baseline for stealth/action sci-fi as a kid. Primed me for when I'd discover metal gear and MGS4 four years later.

And yeah, I'm ashamed I forgot to mention Vandal Hearts. FFT gets just recognition for being awesome, but IMO, it can't hold a candle to Vandal Hearts for style, fun factor, and flavor.
My most underrated game is an old RTS from 2001, an old favorite which a bunch of us here at the old GAF forums used to play together a LOT.
Kohan: Ahriman's Gift
A very unique RTS and still to this day one of my favorite RTS games of all time. It was a slower paced, more strategic RTS than the hyper quick APM heavy RTS games which were much more popular.
It deserved better. I'd love for someone to make a modern remake or spiritual successor.
This game is overhated. I still think this is the best entry in the franchise. It has the best Item Creation system where it combines time spend on making the item with how much money you put into it. It was different take on the system than before. The battle system is still my favorite out of all the games. I love the MP Death mechanic, yes enemies can target your mp and kill your characters by getting it to 0 but you can do the same thing to your enemies. It was an interesting battle system and for me still holds up. As for story, didn't bother me since I don't really play Star Ocean for the story, I play Star Ocean to break the game and make it my bitch and have it call me daddy while I'm doing it
